This being a penalty at all is the worst fucking thing in football now. Fucking bullshit.

They're asking the defender to defy the laws of physics.

"The MINUTE he started to slide" makes it sound like all this happens in super-slow-mo and the defense can easily change its plans. Not quite so easy, especially on a crucial scramble.

There needs to be some kind of reverse halo rule...if you're within 2 yards of a defender it's too late to slide, be a football player and protect yourself

Noles get away with the massive hold that allows Rodemaker to escape.

Then Gators make it worse by landing a huge hit after the gives himself up.

Hopefully Filsaime is getting a first row seat of how poor this team's discipline is.

QB barely even got contacted
Exactly. Nothing but trumped up bullshit by the whole sideline coming out and hyping it up. QBs can run full speed and slide at the last possible second with no consequence at all.

I don't feel sorry for any QB who gets hit doing this.

Florida has tried really hard to lose this game after taking an early lead. Congrats, dumb asses! You have succeeded.

Shut the fuck up retard they lost their two starting running backs and don’t have their QB. They are getting ref balled by shitty ACC refs up and down the field.

Exactly what I was thinking. Simply sliding shouldn't make you a defenseless player. You should still have to protect your own got damn self. The laws of physics dgaf.

QB slide rule is my least favorite rule in sports. You leave the pocket and you are now a runner IMO. You don’t get some matrix time protection from defenders the millisecond you start sliding.

It’s amazing how the calls go a certain way for certain teams when it’s critical they advance. If the Big 12 needs a reason, ahem, Yormark, perhaps it is because we have been screwed by the refs multiple times in key situations so we would not advance. I mean it’s not the only reason but it is an important one to a lot of us.
