Former Galena Park head coach.    Not a bad connection from a recruiting standpoint.

GP North Shore. That would help recruit the Houston area too. Maybe Devin Sanchez has a change of heart with him in the fold.

I assume this means he’s moving on to the next job

Hookem headlines, 4 candidates:

Hutzler

Colton Swan , Utah lb coach

Tony Gibson NC State dc/lb coach

Bobby April Stanford dc/lb coach

Tony Gibson was the DC for Holgo at WVU.  Ran the 3-3 stack.

On IT Youtube, Gerry Just said former Northshore HC and current Rice LB Coach Jon Kay is a name to keep an eye on to replace Choate.

Someone had asked Gerry in the comments if Sark would look at him as a candidate bc he has ties to northshore.  I think Gerry was just answering a question from the comments.

Gibson and April aren’t leaving playcalling P5 DC jobs for non-playcalling co-DC roles. Also not sure why Hutzler would 1) leave Alabama or 2) come back to work for a coach that originally let him walk 3 years ago with the idea of hiring Mike Stoops in his place.

That Utah coach does seem interesting.

FWIW - Bobby (IT) said the LB coach hire isn’t something Sark is even thinking about right now and probably won’t for a while. Some time over the next month he’ll put together a list of candidate and then likely make a hire in January.

Hahahaha. Where the fuck did this come from? Whoever wrote that couldn’t be more full of shit.

The 4 candidates include: a dude that Sarkisian fired, a mormon lifer that may have never left Utah were it not for games being played in other states, and 2 playcalling DCs. Right.

Gibson is even being rumored for some head coaching gigs.

He's a shitty/toxic person but he can absolutely coach. Zero chance he's coming here to be a LB coach like has already been mentioned.

I wonder what Chyrst learned from his year in Austin. That seems like a good fit. They might be able to average 17 points per game.

I think it would be a great hire for Iowa.
