At the end of the day, no Sackler will spend time in jail or prison. The only way to hurt them is to extract as much money as possible. I agree that the Sacklers who were personally involved with Purdue should not be shielded from personal liability.  For the ones that just benefited financially, I'm ok only making them pay the overall financial penalty. 

I doubt that any penalty would make them destitute. They're all going to walk away with more money than any of them could ever spend.

All they have to do is move money off shore and lose it in a (wink, wink) bad investment. They are rich enough to know how to launder properly.

Of course the question is whether it’s enough, but if the Supreme Court affirms the Second Circuit’s decision,  the Sacklers will be paying $6 billion to settle the claims.
