Alamo Heights on the CW here in SA and Terry is so obviously a man among boys, 13 rushes for 139 and 1 TD in 1st half. For some reason he reminds me of Edwin Simmons

He is their entire offense....

I can definitely see the attraction for football coaches to love this guy, seems like a dude.

Note: I am not a college football expert but read Surly regularly

We disagree on Helobius, I enjoy him as much as I do Futureman

I don’t have the best feeling about how tonight’s game with Wimberley will go for the Badgers. Wimberley I think comes in the hungrier team after a close loss to one of the best teams in the state in LBJ. I think @Beau Vine’s guy Stoever should have a pretty big game as the interior of the Badger’s defense has had issues as well as contain problems on the edge because of a lack of speed. Jerome has ran the ball really well this year without Walker behind him, but his accuracy in getting the ball into the hands of Johnson and Roberts leaves a bit to be desired. He does the best he can though and that’s all you can ask I think.

I think Wimberley wins tonight on Homecoming for the Badgers. My brother is taking his 5 year old and two year old out there. I will be shocked if he makes it to halftime with them or that he sees any of the game. Good that he is taking them though.  Lampasas has the most talented individual player in Ty Johnson, but that doesn’t mean a great deal if the ball is not consistently in his hands. I think Wimberley gives safety help all night to keep him from going over the top. He is coming off of catching three TD’s last week and another rushing against Chaparral. He’s still primed for a big season, but tonight is going to be some tough sledding against the Texans. Wimberley should go over 40 again this year.

Lampasas up 28-14 at the half. Ty Johnson has a touchdown receiving and then for some inexplicable reason Wimberley kicks to him after getting to within 21-14. He took it 90 yards and ran all the way across the field to do it. Looked almost exactly like the 87 yard receiving TD he had last year against the Texans. Badgers have the ball to start the 2nd half.

Worst Lobo team since 2012, and that team might murder this one. This is unacceptable messy football

Very very true. Flags everywhere killing almost every big play.

that RB from Forney is going to run all over this defense

Lampasas wins 35-27. Wimberley fumbles at the Lampasas 10 and then Johnson makes an 18 yard catch on 3rd and 9 to ice the win. I was hesitant to say that Lampasas was going to be able to get the ball in his hands enough, but they did. I am sure BeauVine will be by shortly to eat some crow, or not.

The QB for the Badgers, Reed Jerome, was the best player on the field tonight. Was accurate and ran right past a tired Texans front time after time. The Badgers line play was stellar all night.

Texas High travels to Fayetteville to take on defending 7A champs, currently ranked #2 in Arkansas.
Final:
THS 55
Fayetteville 54
THS lets them score with about 2 minutes left to take a 54-47 lead. THS scores with about 1:20 left and gets a 2pt conversion

Yup and 35-19 at halftime.
Useless Information:
Fayetteville HC is former Allen QB Casey Dick and their QB’s father is former Missouri/current UNLV head coach Barry Odom.

I know my posts are random and nobody cares about the trials and tribulations of Garland High.  That being said, I just need to vent a sec.

Last night, Garland had the ball at midfield, a 3 point lead, 3rd and 5, 48 seconds on the clock.  South Garland did not have a timeout left.  If you do absolutely nothing - i.e. kneel, the worst case scenario is that South gets the ball with about 3 seconds at midfield.  Simple, yes?  Not for the wonderfucks in charge of my team.  They try a fucking trick play and fumble.  South ends up getting a FG chance (~35) on the last play of the game.  The ball hits the crossbar and bounces over.  Wouldn't have mattered because these dumbshits made an illegal substitution on the FG attempt.

Garland wins in OT, with several on the team running to the opposite sideline to yell and talk shit.  Just disgusting.  South has won like 3 games in the last 7 years, and routinely loses games like 56-0.

My best friend went to Garland in the early 90’s. The stories he has of that place from back then.

Garland won state in 1999. No idea what they have did since then.

Made the state semis in 2006. Only team to give Cedar Hill a close game that postseason.

I have a friend from up there who used to play against them when he was in school. They’re the big boys from what I remember for the Denver and Front Range area.

I thought I would give @Beau Vine the weekend to admit he may have been a little off the mark saying Wimberley would “beat the **** out of Lampasas again.” Stoever had another really good game, but had two turnovers that turned out to be crucial. If he had Ty Johnson to throw the pill to this game might have turned out differently. Johnson’s 91 yard kickoff return was the first highlight. It’s be fun to have that size and that track speed for a day. Should be interesting to see how long it takes for Texas to send him an offer for 2027.

Is centex having a down year

Austin LBJ has a couple of seriously impressive wins over Wimberley and FW Parish Episcopal already. Austin Bowie looks really good and Westlake is a guarantee for the state title game at worst. So no.

There is good football there. Lampasas should make it to the Stephenville game undefeated. I will stand by the Badgers making it out of Region 1. Wimberley, despite giving up 35 points and 300 plus rushing yards last week to Lampasas, which marked the most points they have allowed in the regular season since Lampasas put 58 up against them in 2020( @Beau Vine deserves one last reminder for running his mouth), still should be the favorite to win their region. Plenty of quality football I think in the area. DFW has the most depth overall in terms of quality teams.

Westlake will not make it to the state title game this year. Our RB's are not top level, and our cornerbacks are small, and can be had by tall, strong receivers who can catch or block. Atascocita came into our house and put a whopping on us, our first home loss since 2018. With some luck we can get to the state quarter-final, but we are definitely vulnerable this year.

Round Rock is massive this year and they cheat like blowu (Oline and DBs hold on every play), Pflugerville Weiss has D1 guys all over, LT, Vandy, Dripping…

Dripping is down. Offense is good, but defense can't stop anything. They'll still finish 3rd in district behind WL and LT, but don't think they'll make it back to the regional final.

Will be interesting to see what happens with Bowie vs. LT this week. Bowie is 4-0; if they can play LT tough, they could also beat Drip this year.

There are some insanely talented schools in Houston right now. I think Atascocita might be able to beat out North Shore.

AHS 16-0 vs Del Valle at half.
Didn’t update score last week vs Temple but Temple absolutely shit pumped AHS.

It is homecoming for AHS tonight so hopefully they keep pressure on DV to win.
