Another fun one looking over the matchups:
10-0 Sinton vs 0-9 Rio Grande City Grulla Thursday in Falfurrias

Will good ol Bill In Sinton be in attendance with his focusness?

I talked to him one time on the phone years ago. He was a pleasant enough guy. I have another friend in Sinton that knows him as well.

Dickinson gave Atascosita all they wanted and then some. Cita wins 50-45. The Gators will break through one of these years. Single school district, large enrollment, good talent base, nice facilities, they have all the ingredients to be a Houston power.

This has been my 3rd straight year watching Dickinson since we moved to Texas City (daughter goes to Dickinson)... they have talent, just are missing a QB.. hopefully by the time my youngest daughter who will be a freshman there next season, graduates.. they will break through.  Two years ago.. they also had North Shore at their field sweating too til very late. #GATA

I think that Aguirre kid will be that guy. He's got the talent, I expect that soph to Jr level jump for him next year.

Unfathomable how they made those poor kids play on real grass...outdoors.

One of the things I really do like about my hometown is that Lampasas still uses the same field they have had that was built during the WPA-era in 1935. Generation after generation play on the same field. They also haven’t put artificial turf down like so many schools have opted to do. I do not believe they will ever leave that field for a new one or go away from natural grass.

I don't have a problem with artificial turf, especially as it alleviates the water usage to keep the grass green in some very, very dry areas in Texas.

I do believe high school football should be an outdoor game, including practice facilities.  I know I am probably in an extreme minority.

Worst part of that game was that it ended in a freaking tie.

There are definitely some areas in Texas that have to have those fields. I always worry about injuries on artificial turf though. I just do not seem to remember such a high incidence rate of ACL tears and similar injuries when more grass fields were in use.

Good thing for Tidehaven penetrations didn't count in the Championship game.  PP had 1 and THS had 0.  2 great defensive teams at the time.

It is not good. Good teams will shut us down, but looks great against bad teams.

This has been the concern since Dodge left.  Would they slowly get worse offensively (but not noticeably affect outcomes at first)?  This is what happened to LT.  The fear with a defensive minded coach is that offensive production is not the priority.  In Texas HS football, offense wins.

The Woodlands College Park beat Westfield yesterday.  Not bad considering how bad TWCP has been since forever.

College Park is the "Rice" of the Conroe schools, while all of those gifted athletes just magically appear in the Woodlands attendance zone.
