PNG vs Texas High in Natchitoches (pronounced Nak-ee-tush), Louisiana?  Pretty rare to see a Texas high school football game played in another state.  About a 3 hour drive from each high school, which is actually less than many teams have to travel for the state playoffs in Arlington.
by the way - I couldn't believe how they pronounce the town there - a little different than their Texas cousin...

They played there two years ago I think. THS played Highland Park in Shreveport one year.

@blacklab here is the entire Los Fresnos/Buda Johnson game distilled down to 30 minutes for you to get a preview of what we face this Friday.

Johnson, who earned their second-ever playoff win, has a tough little running back named Hadnot who seems to touch the ball on around 70% of plays. The QB is tall and has a nice arm, but they are definitely a running team. I didn't see any of those nice, soft punt snaps that Westlake loves to turn into our signature blocks.

I like Buda Johnson. They seem to have wrested control away from Hayes HS for the best program in their area. It seems only yesterday (but was probably around 10-15 year ago) that Hayes was running across the field with their Confederate battle flags while playing 'Dixie'. That's one tradition I don't miss.

I think Brennan would have smoked Buda Johnson and don't expect much of a contest, but that's why they play the game!

Johnson benefited greatly by getting out of the Westlake, Lake Travis, Dripping Springs district and into District 29

Insane stats 3365 rushing, 39 TD's ...against 6A competition...4 300 yd games, season low of 151 (on 10 carries in a 45-0 win)

We got screwed. Bowie lost to a shite Austin High and forced my beloved Chaps to go D1. At 2,700 students, we should be D2 with the littler schools. Shouldnt have to play LT, (3,800 students), North Shore (4,600 students) etc, etc.

Hopefully those scrappers from the mean streets of Westlake will catch a break at some point in their bootstrap lives.

It’s such a feel-good story. The kids nobody believed in overcame the odds to beat the bullies. #underdogs #limitedresources #lifeisunfair

CC Miller utterly dominating Alamo Heights, watching on YouTube. 35-0 early in the 3rd. First time seeing Michael Terry in non-highlight form. Didn’t want to say it in the recruiting thread but  if I didn’t know who he was and you told me he was a 5 star I’d be shocked. And just judging from attitude/body language there’s a whole ton of quit in AH, him included. Frustrating to watch

Angleton and College Station tied at 21 at halftime.

Bay City 14 CC Calallen 7 halftime.

Waco La Vega 21  Silsbee 7 halftime, this could be a problem.

Lexington 27 Poth 21 halftime.

The Celina-Stephenville semi-final should be a fun game. Lampasas is in the process of imploding defensively and giving up half a hundred. When you are the slower team on the field and your opponent is from the Panhandle, you severely lack team speed. Hopefully next year they find a way to get Ty Johnson more involved. This year was mostly average because it was a run first QB in Jerome. He was really good at that, but when you have a 2027 WR that UT has already invited for a visit you might should let him touch the ball more often than he did. Still a really good year by Lampasas standards.

PNG holds TH to a FG attempt which they miss.

PNG has the ball with around 1 min and a 3 point lead at their own 33.

miller hc can flat out coach / build a program / spot talent

no idea what he wants, but mid to major college programs should have him on their radar. being in cc hurts him. if he’s in hou or dfw, he’s a hot property
