2024 Texas High School Football

SLC went for it on 4th down on their own 40 with 8ish min left in the game. Longview stopped them and John Kings dumbass decides to run the ball up the middle 4 times in a row and give the ball back to SLC with around 5 or 6 min left. Then they drive down the field and King doesn’t even try to save any time for his offense and then Longview gets fucked and then game doesn’t go into OT

Oh well, Longview was playing with house money after getting by Lancaster when they should’ve lost

This guy had three Alma maters playing next Saturday:

11:00: Highland Park for a state championship

11:00: SMU in the CFP

3:00: Texas in the CFP

Add in Westlake (for my kids) at 7:00 for a state championship and I have a very full day of football.

There's humble bragging and then there's this.

6 for North Crowley is Quentin Gibson who has 86 catches for 1,828 yards and 33 receiving TDs so far this year. Maybe 5'8 and maybe 160 pounds of him. Duncanville had Javion Holliday, who signed with SMU, trying to cover Gibson most of the day. Holiday spent a lot more of his day running his mouth to the North Crowley sideline than effectively covering Gibson

Dakorian Moore played most of the game at CB as well as WR.

The left tackle is Turntine #50.

Allen stadium has an official capacity of 18,000. The entire stadium was packed including standing room only at least 5 deep on the rail all the way around the lower seating bowl. Despite that, in the background of this video, you see an entire seating section for the 20 members of the Duncanville drill team to sit 5 yards apart and 3 or 4 to an entire row.

Comparing the North Shore and Duncanville QB's in their playoff losses, I see a huge talent gap.

North Shore's QB Bailey looked lost and his throwing motion seems to need work. I understand that the Westlake D had something to do with that but still, he is not there. He currently has offers to OU and Auburn. OU needs better QB play NOW and doesn't have the luxury of a project QB. I would reconsider that offer.

Duncanville QB, even in his loss, looked pretty amazing. Dude can let it rip. He is committed to Bama. He has a great motion and the ball just sails.

So, does Westlake have a chance for a state title here? #westlakehomer #sorrynotsorry

They’re the favorites for sure. Duncanville just didn’t bring it which is why NC won, but Westlake dominated on the other hand. Hard to imagine NC being able to put up any points on that defense. 28-7 type of game.

I think we have a chance. North Crowley looks really talented and balanced, but Westlake coaches are top level. The Chap's Offensive Coordinator, who has been criticized this season, really showed up with his variations on standard Westlake plays that befuddled the NS defense all game.

Another assumption teams playing Westlake make is that the Chaps aren't fast (translation: white boys). Westlake may not have top-end speed like Crowley, but the skill players and defensive backs are very fast. Westlake has beaten many a team that assumed they could out-athlete Westlake.

Absolutely nobody outside of your mind thinks that. It’s not 1985 anymore. These players watch so much film from multiple games and Westlake has been a dominant force in the state for almost a decade. They are almost always the biggest and fastest team on the field. They win by combining superior athletes with superior scheme and execution, they’ve never won because a team was caught off guard by their speed. North Crowley hasn’t been to state in 20 years probably, they have a young and inexperienced head coach, and are undersized in the trenches compared to Westlake. And their best WR is like 5’7”. The Chaps are massive favorites.

Fair points, but if you read YouTube and FB comments before the NS game, so many of them were, "Westlake can't hang with NS, etc." This week on YouTube and FB, the comments are "Westlake can't match Crowley's speed." Happens every year.

Some Dallas friends of mine went so far as to say things along the lines of “NS play calling was so bad the coach must’ve been getting paid under the table!” and “the stripes always help the Y/T teams when it’s close…”

Anything except NS simply got beat. Unpossible! 😂

Yeah I don’t think that’s a great capture of the attitudes of normal people, like at all. You're just seeing what you want to see.

Sidenote: It’s kind of messed up and tiresome that you are constantly on here basically saying black teams/players lack the ability or intelligence to take Westlake seriously or assess their skill. If you want to talk about what happens every year it’s that. Like I said the teams all have and watch hudl, NC and Westlake will not walk in there and be shocked about what they’re up against.

Taking Youtube and FB comments seriously is like taking Texags seriously.

Almost a decade...that's hilarious.  The Chaps have won fewer than 10 games in a season 9 times since 1990. They have won 13 or more games in a season 18 times in that same time frame.  In other words they are well into their 4th decade of dominance.

Ehhh, when did I say "...black teams/players lack the ability or intelligence to take Westlake seriously or assess their skill." That would be a very racist comment. I think it is natural for HS males of EVERY race to think they can beat any teams because they are faster, more talented, etc.

We get those comments all the time. They were literally piled on top of each other today on social media. We also get them on every YouTube video.

I was going to say any good football player will think he can beat the guy lined up in front of him. It doesn’t matter if he’s white or has “Chaps” written on his chest.

As it’s been pointed out, NC is tiny and that’s going to be in their heads far more than any speed advantage. In football size beats speed everytime. Westlake can just grind down NC and it’s why they’ll win

North Shore sure looked like they didn't assess Westlake's abilities as a team. They literally ran the same three plays over and over again even when they were hopelessly behind, but I suppose that is more on the coaches.

I think North Shore just lost. It’s not because they “underestimated” Westlake or anything, they just got their asses beat in the trenches. Westlake can do that to teams, because they are a powerhouse program.

I get that it’s fun to position yourselves as the underdog, but Duncanville and North Shore are the only two programs in the state that Westlake were/would be legit underdogs to. You got the rare chance to be David last week, but now it’s back to being Goliath.

With all of that said, North Crowley has some small position players, but they’ve got some big boys upfront. John Turntine is the best OT in the state, a 5-star that’s being recruited by everyone, and the OG next to him is a Missouri signee. So I think some of the talk about them being small is overstated.

Yeah, our current record vs North Shore is 2-3, and they beat us good the last two years, so I was assuming, like most people, that they would do the same this year. Now, I see a lot of their fans complaining about the coaching, saying the last coach was much better, etc. No idea what to make of that, as they have been virtually perfect the last three years, only losing to us and Duncanville. (twice)

North Crowley looks very impressive in highlights, for sure.

Once this class leaves they’re done as a dominant program, the current coach is nothing compared to Kay. Summer Creek will become the new force in that area in the coming years, and look for Dickinson to breakthrough as well.

What about Atascocita? They feel like they are improving all the time and it took a miracle finish for North Shore to beat them in the regular season.

Lots of great info there. Not the most technologically advanced site I've ever seen but someone is spending a shit load of time inputting all that data.
