2024 Texas High School Football

Recommended Posts

Great day of football. 2A Football, both divisions, is by far the best so far.  Both teams that lost in 2A played their asses off.  Happy for Muenster and Ganado!!!

Didn't particularly like the Gunter squad.  They sure did love hitting to the echo's echo of the whistle around the pile.  You're up 28.  Act like it,

It's hard to believe Malakoff has won 31 straight games.  They getting worked by Columbus on both sides of the ball.

Looking forward to Friday's games.

So how many more housing developments need to spread up through Prosper and Celina to Gunter, to get them out of 3A?

They're killing everybody in that division.

Prosper is growing non stop. Celina is trying to slow play it as long as they can, and them only being 4A D1 is still small for the amount of development going on. Gunter is straight up fudging their numbers to stay 3A.

They looked bigger and faster than most of the teams Westlake played this year.

I grew up in the area. They’re doing exactly what Celina did back in their hay day. Prosper is getting new schools left and right, Celina is starting to build new ones, Melisa and Anna aren’t even recognizable from just 10 years ago. VA just built a new high school with like 3 other elementary schools. But you’re telling me Gunter only had 11 students move in from the last realignment? Half of which were athletes.

I don't know much about Malakoffs previous opponents but I'm going to guess they haven't played 3 D1 cats all year let alone on one night

11 of those wins for Malakoff are in the POs.

And Columbus' defense has hardly been dominant. They allowed 42 points in 2 of their last 3 games.  Thought it would be a shootout, but damn the Tigers offense is AWOL.

Thought the train horn bullshit was disallowed. I guess someone from Gunter donated to Jerry’s whore slush fund or something.

This shit impressed nobody. I was as neutral as could be on that matchup, and after all of the games so far, fuck Gunter and their micropeen bullshit.

Like school on Thanksgiving weekend…

Old High is Wichita Falls, not Waco.   Starts getting meatier today.
Some call Class 4A, America's favorite class.  That's what they say.

Old Waco High School had 6 titles. There were 3 high schools in Waco prior to consolidation in the 80s and what is known as Waco High School today.

Regarding 4A, the high school I went to has been in that classification or it’s re classified equivalent for well over 40 years. We used to play La Vega in District back in the day. Still do under current alignment.

Very aware of Waco High's consolidation with Jefferson-Moore and Richfield, grew up in the area.  No one calls Waco High, Old High.

Locals and the whole state call Wichita Falls High, Old High.

"As the first high school in the city, Wichita Falls High School was locally known as "Old High." The school was founded in 1891"

Breckenridge...they have sucked for a very long time.  Plano's number ain't likely to change.  Abilene?  nah...

Not arguing, just asking- is Waco High referred to as Old High by local folks, because to Abe's comment above, Old High is the colloquial moniker for Wichita Falls High in those parts.

Trying to remember when the last time each school had won.  Started looking it up and Waco's were from the 1920's, but then I got caught in a Shannon Elizabeth rabbit hole.

Wichita Falls High closed last year

So they closed Old High and Hirschi and Rider and went with the new names of Memorial and Legacy?

Could have gone with anything, it was wide open and landed on Memorial and Legacy.

I don’t think I ever heard any one refer to old Waco High as anything but Old Waco high. Sorry for the inadvertent hair splitting derailment. I forgot where I was.
