Close, but no cigar.
I matriculated/masturbated at St. Edward’s High School in South Austin.
It closed in 1967 a few years after my graduation.

All I know is Mrs Brat is a Duck!

Damn what a run by KJ Edwards!

Old Waco High School had 6 titles. There were 3 high schools in Waco prior to consolidation in the 80s and what is known as Waco High School today.

Regarding 4A, the high school I went to has been in that classification or it’s re classified equivalent for well over 40 years. We used to play La Vega in District back in the day. Still do under current alignment.

Dad’s DeSoto team traveled to Waco and played Waco University, around ‘82 or 83, in a preseason scrimmage. During pregame warmups,at midfield, one of their players came over past midfield at hollered “We ficking to hit!” Yes “ficking.” Didn’t help them, as if I remember they didn’t even score.

As a junior high kid, son of the HC, and “manager” I was there and heard it all. At least once a year over the decades, one of us has said that phrase over phone calls or in person during a football season.

In the stadium, they had a graphic that Celina‘s population was like 43,000, and on the next screen they had Kilgore‘s population at 13500.

No shenanigans at all with those attendance numbers up in Bobcat Country.

SOC is playing that new Richmond Randle team that knocked off my kids’ Boerne last week. They have two interior D-Linemen that will be playing for D-1 schools next Fall, to just name a few.

Boerne was pretty good again and trying to reach Jerry World for two in a row, but the game wasn’t even close against Randle.

I wondered about Celinas population vs enrollment in a previous game…. seems the answer is a ton of Celina is in Prosper ISD.  Thats how it was explained to me

This is correct. A good portion of the city does not fall into the school district. We also have far more elementary kids than high schoolers. It is a town that attracts young families.

Prosper ISD has four elementary schools in Celina.
All those Northern burbs ISDs have schools in numerous municipalities.

I remember when Richmond George Ranch rolled to a state title right after opening before moving to 6A and dropping off. Looks like the formula is repeating

Richmond Foster did the same as far as winning right out of the gate.  Cee Dee Lamb helped with that success.
