Joe pardoning hunter being used by republican family members as an example of democrats and Biden being just the same as republicans. Texts saying they’re all the same, Joe is just as corrupt, etc etc.

We deserve all the bad shit that’s coming down the pike.

These used to be reasonable people.

I can’t lie, there was a time just a while ago where I’d have said that this is unseemly and unpresidential even while agreeing this was a politically charged prosecution and intervention into a plea.

But I’m an accelerationist now.

He really should've pardoned him before Thanksgiving so people could make pardoning the turkey jokes.

Personally, I don't care since Trump has expressed a willingness to use the Justice Department to go after his enemies. I think Biden should pardon every member of his cabinet and anyone at the Justice Department and FBI who was involved with Trump investigations. Also he should pardon every former member of Trump's cabinet. Give Trump nothing to go after.

How does one exactly arrive at a pardon period that starts 1 Jan 2014?

Wasn't that the time period Republicans were going back to when they were investigating Hunter?

I wish Biden could pardon members of the armed forces in a sense of keeping them from getting court-martialed which Trump has already indicated is on the horizon.

The atf form thing was 2018. That just a pretty long pardon period. Nixon's covered how many years?

No idea but given the fuckery Trump is trying to inflict on people why take the risk? Like I said in the earlier post, he needs to blanket cover every member of his administration and Trump's previous administration. Anyone involved in the Russia investigation like Vindman. Anyone in the military that's he's able to protect. Is it an abuse of authority, maybe. I  no longer give a shit given what Trump is capable of.  And hey guess what, the Supreme Court made this okay.

Yeah but my gas was really cheap when I filled up tonight and Thanksgiving dinner wasn't as expensive.

Trump will go down as one of the most important figures in U.S. history to degrade ethics, integrity, and honesty in politics. But his despicable behavior across a multitude of issues has been all but ignored by the voting public.

Politicians from both parties have realized that the American public will not demand ethical behavior from their politicians, nor will other politicians.

As a result, even honest politicians have now determined they have no choice but to lower themselves down into the muck, or face reprisals and loss. Biden is a realist. He knows Trump will illegally and immorally use the office of President against him. So, he’s dived into the muck.

This is just the beginning. We are a banana republic and powerless as citizens. We will all be stunned at the speed of our decline. We can thank uneducated and/or immoral voters for all of this.

I can’t believe anyone would complain about Biden pardoning his son but yet be ok with what’s shaping up as being the most corrupt and incompetent government we have ever had.
The only thing Biden has done to tarnish his legacy was his inept handling of the border and not allowing the Dems to hold a primary to find a candidate to run against Trump.  Otherwise, he would have been considered a pretty consequential president.

Jesus fucking Christ there was no inept handling of the border by Biden. Why the fuck do people just accept republican bullshit as truth over and over again?

I mean I wish he wouldn’t have done it but forgive me if I don’t lose any sleep over it. We (Dems for the most part) have tried to be the reasonable people and tried to keep some semblance of sanity in politics and look where it has gotten us.

He really should have...  pardon both the turkeys then Hunter steps into the shot and Dad gives him a noogie and says, this year we're pardoning a third turkey.  Why the fuck not?  We're living in a shitshow.  Heap some more shit on the pile.

Did I say anything about you in my post?  I don’t read posts that don’t start with capital letters.

If he had taken the executive action sooner it would not have even been an issue.

Wasn’t one of Trump’s big campaign promises to pardon all the J6 terrorists? I didn’t think Biden would pardon Hunter, but I completely get it after what happened with the election. His dumbass son shouldn’t have to sit in prison while actual enemies to our country get to regroup. It’d be even more awesome if he went ahead and pardoned every person convicted of a low level drug felony

Shouldn't matter.  Any member of the armed forces he tries to court martial will have a court member panel (jury) of equal or higher rank. Doubt any would be found guilty.
