Bohls wrote an article in the Chronicle today saying essentially that RT is out.

I was talking about Bowels piping up on the NC ST coach getting fired after going to the final 4.  still waiting on that article excoriating NCST.

but yeah, Bowels is a complete fuckwad dumbass.  I'm old enough to remember we had to "hire Terry before somebody else does" just 2.5 short years ago.

It is hard to believe that people pay that midget.  Don King definitely applies here.

University of South Florida Vice President for Athletics Michael Kelly provides an update regarding the men's basketball program.

"We are eternally grateful to interim head coach Ben Fletcher for his leadership under extraordinary circumstances this season. I also want to thank our staff and student-athletes for their resilience. Coach Amir would be so proud.

A national search is underway for our next head basketball coach. The process will be thorough, and once our next head coach is chosen, we will share that news with you.

We appreciate the support of Bulls Nation." – Michael Kelly, University of South Florida Vice President for Athletics

every time we’re in this situation, like we were with shaka, or now with RT, i find myself watching games like this florida vs tennessee game and going, “holy shit this looks nothing like a typical Texas game, we do not even play the same sport.” really, really looking forward to seeing Texas playing fast paced, competent, confident basketball again soon.

I wonder if we could get with of those coaches.

I'm still traumatized from being in attendance for Barnes' last game as coach about 10 years ago. We needed a whole 57 points to beat Butler that day. We managed to score 48 points. 24 points in each half of basketball.

I was way more done with Barnes at that time than I am done with RT now. And I will shed 0 tears when we fire RT this month.

Pining for Barnes is ridiculous I was off him in 2004 (not fireable, but accurately predicted the future, then he would never win a NT), 20 years later he is still the same, good coach that has the same irredimible coaching flaws.

Tennessee is learning all about March Rick.

Maybe this year will be different.

a)who in the hell do you see pining for barnes? and b)you shouldn’t admit to something as stupid as being done with rick barnes smack dab in the middle of his run of 5 sweet 16’s in 7 years.

i haven’t out and out insulted anyone like this in a very long time but you’re a fucking idiot.

And I don't mind, I saw the same thing then I am seeing now, On offense a coach that can't teach clutch, FTs still suck, offense missing open layups, (Jerry Sloan is apt as hell comparison I was skeptical of their collaboration)  and on defense he never learned that come tournament time being physical means drawing fouls.

I was correct in my prediction then, yes I saw sweet sixteens+ (ultimately him not making the second weekend 7 years straight was why he was fired), but never a national championship.

Watching the SECT and it is just vintage Barnes, foul, foul, foul and Lenier is fouled out with 3 others close to being fouled out.

If you want Barnes to win a NT you have to alter the sport to be more like hockey.

Calling my shot : Texas defeats Xavier. Texas defeats Illinois in the first round advances to the second round in a rematch vs Kentucky. Texas defeats Kentucky to reach the Sweet 16 in yet another rematch against Tennessee. Texas loses a close game, Rodney is given another year. Texas finishes the 2025-2026 season 2nd last in the SEC and is so putrid they're not even offered an NIT bid.

If Kyle Flood becomes interim head coach of the football team in October, and we make the playoffs... I don't think many would say "That was Kyle Flood's team and he took us to the playoffs".

Exactly! Everyone knows the success of the team over the last two years is directly the result of the foundation Mack Brown put in place.
