well, since nobody can watch the fucking thing due to their idiotic PokerGo decision, it doesn't surprise me. Does the "franchise"  make much money off of the event  outside of whatever PokerGo paid for the rights? They have to pay a fuckload of dealers

I may be in the minority, but the PokerGo subscription is worth the money. If anything, for HSP. The WSOP coverage was fantastic also. Really enjoyed the commentators, especially Nick Shulman.

Anyone hear anything about shuffle 512 getting robbed? Supposedly the guard got knocked out and the cage got hit.

Looks like it based on thread.  Someone posted about it getting robbed for a second time about four or five nights ago

Tell the dealer not to let the cards muck, but don’t touch them myself. I absolutely have the right to defend the game. This is not one of those “shut up if you’re not in the hand” situations

Dealer/floor should flip his cards up and run it out.

if thats real, why the fuck arent you posting on 2+2 with the exact hand number.

I don't have an account over there, always just lurked. I did @ ACR on Twitter and emailed their support.

Dug up the hand history on my hard drive, emphasized the important parts. 3c clearly dealt to me preflop and also on the river, so I guess that means it probably wasn't a UI bug. No word yet from ACR support. If any of you wants to post it on 2p2 if you have an account, feel free.

100% this. BB can't fold, and every all-in hand must be tabled in a tournament.

BB kept his cards in his hand, dealer called floor, floor ruled oral action is binding and folded his hand and gave $44k from his stack to small blind.

I told floor action was over, doesn't matter what he said. Floor disagreed.

I asked if I got all in preflop with a buddy and cards are all face up can I fold after the flop once I see I'm going to beat him?
He said no, I asked how is this different and he didn't have an answer.

We had 14 people left, 12 got paid and 99% of the time when it gets to 13 in this tournament we agree to pay 13 something.

The other short stack at the table was livid about the ruling.

Yeah that Floor fucked up. No way that was proper decision. They’re confused by the verbal-is-binding rule, but it’s not applicable here when the BB has no options so verbal is irrelevant.

Asked the floor last night how he'd rule in that situation and he immediately said, action is over, he can't fold.

Pointed to the floor guy from last week and told him you might want to tell him that.

A little while later I heard them discussing it.

It's nuts. It's an hour once you get inside. I've been here for 2 hours and am still 30 mins out. I guess $10 annual membership and the match on hours purchased brought out every poker player in Austin sick of driving up to the lodge.

If I would have known how f'n long this was gonna take, I'd probably have come around 11 PM, but I'm committed now.

Also, they aren't limiting the time match to the first 300 members as it says on the website. Anyone that wants can take advantage (presumably until midnight) they did a good job with the build out.

good lord they must have raked in some cash today. Obviously they will be losing a decent chunk of revenue later, but if they wanted to generate some interest in the new location, mission accomplished. The liquor revenue from the bar will likely help offset that somewhat.

It was wild and packed. Waited about 3 hour to get in. They did extend the hours deal to all I believe. They had a problem with their POS terminal and just started giving away food to anyone that had waited hours to get their order. They did have drink/HH specials. I think Mixed drinks were $5 but I know some folks got theirs comped. Domestic Drafts were a dollar and they started just charging a dollar for everything. I only paid a buck for Guinness. Place was absolutely packed, it will be interesting to see how this new place plays out. Lots of folks I know bout a ton of discounted time, so I'm sure there will be plenty of players for a while.

Concur with all of this...first thing I saw upon getting into the parking was those fucktard Austin parking enforcement assholes. so I knew to make sure I parked properly. They ticketed a lot of cars that had parked on the grass berm or behind the strip mall as every parking space and more was taken. Whether you got there at 6 /7 am or later in the day, you had to wait 3 hrs to get in. I got there around 220-230 pm and didn't get to check in until around 520p. Played cards well past midnight and the end of the line getting in the door was around 1am. It wasn't just ATX players as there were plenty that I talked with that came from Dallas as they were told the yearly would work at their rooms in Dallas also. That was third party so not sure about that.

Food was definitely a mess. Two guys at my table had waited over two hrs for their food and finally got some after calling the head floor and manager from the kitchen. Some of the servers were not great either. They missed our table, number one right in front plenty of times. I landed up walking across the street and getting some food from one of the businesses by the old room as that was much faster getting food that way.. No doubt the kinks will get worked out. Cool room though with a good layout and bar. Getting the matching $500 in hrs and the yearly for $10 to me was worth the wait. That and a + session.

Yeah I needed a tire replaced and went to the Discount Tire nearby so I could swing in and get the $10 annual membership, but noped out after the parking lot/line. Too bad you couldn't sign up online, they would have gotten a decent amount of business from me if so, but now none.

NLH tournament, three players left, and I fold the button (5-9 offsuit) with literally TWO big blinds. SB and BB each have about 15 big blinds, and they go at each other and one busts the other. Thanks for the pay jump!

In tonight's version of "Is blacklab the asshole here?"

There's this old lady that plays in the big o tournament on Monday nights, I've probably talked about her before here. She's mean, angry and a raging bitch to everyone. Everyone hates her and high fives when she's knocked out.

Last night she was on a roll. Got the clock called on her and went on a tirade on a hand that should have been an instafold. She lost track of her water bottle and accused the cleaning crew of stealing it.

Get to the final table and she's got about 2 big blinds. After a lap two people have been knocked out and everyone is asking about an ICM chop. She has less than 1 big blind at this point and is two hands away from being the big blind. I say "no chop",  the guys next to me give me the come on, it's almost 2am. I tell them she has one big blind lets play 2 more hands and then I'll chop.

She goes apeshit, "that asshole wants to wait to chop till I'm out. Bet he changes his tune if I triple up". Floor tells her to settle down. I just bit my tongue. Multiple times she's been the one holdout on chopping near the end of the tournament. She gets all in on her big blind and is knocked out. She hadn't even stood up and I ask everyone if they'd like to ICM chop. She was absolutely steaming.

TCH is absolutely murdering Red Star right now.

I played at Red Star on Monday starting at noon, never a full table, 6-8 handed. played 2 hours and when I left it was 4 handed.

Wed night, till 10a the table never had more than 1 person waiting to play.

last night, the game broke as soon as the KC Balt game ended.

played today got to Red Star at 430, its 1 table that when I take my seat is now full.  play for 3 hours, we get a few players come in, but more leave than come in.

we ended up 3 handed at 745 and it broke almost immediately after.

maybe it starts back up after the Philly GB game, but fuck normally on Fri night its 2 tables, with a 3rd  2/5 /match stack until 8 or so, then usually a 3rd normal game starts until 11ish.

The Lodge is getting hit as well. When I check, their table count is down as much as 50% from usual. In reply, they're doing a bunch of promos for the week of Sept 18th-22nd, including 50% off time, a true 100k free roll, a meet-up game, $500 lucky seats, and a $10 annual member ship. The half-off time and membership are for the 18th only. Here's the info:

https://thelodgepokerclub.com/austin/100000-freeroll-weekend/

Competition is great for everyone!

Just checked the table count at the Lodge and TCH. Lodge is running 9 NLH and 1 PLO. TCH is running 13 NLH and 5 PLO plus a BigO and ROE. Doesnt really matter what the lodge does to match,  there are apparently a lot of Austin residents that would prefer not to drive  up to  RR.

eeeehhhh

there were also a fuckton of austin residents who bought 60-100ish hours of play at TCH for $300-$500 less than 2 weeks ago.

thats a lot of folks whose  1-2 times a week for 5 hour sessions, that still have a shitload of hours to play there.

we will know more in about 3 weeks or so once most of those cheap hours are burned off.

but if this keeps up for more than a month, I think it will probably end up actually killing Red Star.
