Plenty of bright people live in the Southeastern USA.  But none post on SEC Rant.  It's horrible.

You're not kidding. It takes about 5 seconds to find something dumb on there.

Bama edumucation doesn't need no stinkin' statistics courses.

My dislike for A&M is eternal.

The best running back in the history of my HS choose not to go to Texas, for a very good reason. He went to A&M, and we were lifelong friends, until his passing. May he RIP. Ironically, the reason he didn't go to Texas is similar to the reason for my post.

1975 was #2 A&M v. #5 Texas, in College Station. Marty Akins (Texas QB) was coming off a knee injury from 2 week prior. On Texas's first play, Pat Thomas (A&M DB) came in like a missile and put his helmet directly on Akins' knee, taking him out of the game. Game over.

This is an old post from Hornsfans:

"FireRC, there' no history of the Aggies intentionally trying to injure Texas players?

Ask those of us who watched Jackie Williams take a dirty shot to Roosevelt Leaks' knee, putting him on the ground and out of the game during the 1973 game at Kyle Field. He said in the dressing room afterward "God help me for doing that. I was just so fired up".

Two years later, I was sitting on my Aggie father-in-law's 40 yard line seats when early in the game Pat Thomas took Marty Akins out with a cheap shot. All the Aggies sitting around me stood up and cheered.

Please don't come over here with descriptions of your people as being good sports. Whatever y'all can do to beat "t.u." is considered "good bull", from selling your souls to hire Jackie Sherrill to desecrating Memorial Stadium ( a stadium dedicated to all Texas war dead, including Aggies).

It's not for nothing that we call y'all dirty cheaters."

Aggy personified is at 35:08 of the video.

For damn near 50 years, I have never apologized for my beliefs towards A&M. I'm not sure what might ever change that.

I'm asking if one of you sleuths can make a video or screen grab, of find something in the archives, to memorialize it and to provide others one more data point validating the history and depth of Aggy transgressions.

Thanks in advance.

I was in the endzone seats with a girlfriend who went to A&M. I saw that shot and went into an icy rage. I wanted a Texas player put on the field to hunt down that mother fucker and do the same thing to him. I didn't care if it meant we forfeit the game. I didn't care if the Texas player were to hunt that miserable prick down on his own sideline to do it.

It was my second year at Texas. I'd watched the bone run a thousand times. Standard procedure was to punish the QB with a high hit. Having watched it so many times, that assassination hit stood out as obvious in its intent. If I'd had a sniper rifle, I'd still be in prison now.

I'd never seen that hit on film until just now. Bad knees cut my own football "career" short. I close my eyes when the morbid sports broadcasters replay an injury tape over and over to try to diagnose what happened. I've managed to never see the Theisman video.

That was an act of wickedness. (I mean the hit on Akins, to be clear.)

My feelings exactly. I would have Tonya Harding'd his ass if something like that existed back then. I've looked for that video many times in the past, never found it until this week. The TV replay was brutal to watch, 100% intent to injure a player, probably for life.

The Theisman injury was an unfortunate injury during a normal (violent) football game.

Pat Thomas is a POS and he deserves to rot in hell.

I went back and made my post clearer. I was still talking about Akins even though I'd last named Theisman. You're correct, of course.

@Longhornfrenzy is all over the Sooner boards.

It's hard to get quite as worked up over LSU with them not being our rival, but I'm sure he'll get over there.

Ah so. From what I’ve seen it’s fire the OC or LSU doesn’t have enough dudes on defense. It’s like they know they can’t afford Kelly’s buyout so he skirts most of the blame.

I realize the futility of this question before I ask, but can someone explain to me what this nimrod is saying, exactly? Is he implying our BMD’s suck recruit’s dicks, and this is something all the top tier recruits WANT? Or that they think they made their billions by sucking dick?

In just struggling to understand the connection between the success and the sucking dick.

They're offended by the idea of someone sucking a dick instead of eating a dick.

$62 million buyout for Brian Kelly. Woodward is tarded, but I think he sort of learned a lesson with Jimbo and didn’t extend Kelly after 2022.

Feels very similar to Napier at Florida. Kelly needs to sign Underwood and he needs to be good immediately.

I'm surprised one of them mentioned their state is poor.

This. They have decent onshore oil and gas reservoirs, but it’s getting more and more niche. Title is a nightmare and you need very good/specialized attorneys and landmen to make it work. It’s lot easier to go drill somewhere else. Most of the big companies don’t want to deal with the headaches and have left/winding their positions down.

Their strategic corndog reservoirs took a hit during the recession but could build back with a bullish cornmeal market.

Brian Kelly is another DiNardo. What is their love affair with coaches from the north?

Please. DiNardo wishes he could pull off Brian Kelly's southern accent.

LSU is in hell. By their own mod’s statements, they can’t do anything about Kelly until 2026.

Kelly has already done the fire all the assistants thing. I’m at a loss on what’s next.

Need Underwood to flip to truly overturn the gumbo cart.

I don't know if West Virginia is necessarily considered the north.

The state's literal origin is due to siding with "the north" at the outbreak of the Civil War. They're a northern state in that sense, but I agree with the direction of your argument.

Even with Underwood, Kelly is who he is. Underwood isn't going to make Kelly into some kind of wizard. He'll still need coaching, and Kelly seems incapable of doing that.

Won't have to worry about that now.
