The Red Raiders are in trouble, lost 8-5 to the Mormons tonight

And their men's basketball team is about to go out in the first round of the tourney.

Not high cotton in Lubbock these days.

OU at 7-2, KSU about to be 5-1, Texas at 4-2, WVU at 4-2. Those are the only four conference teams with winning records in the league after this weekend.

Texas gets OU and KSU - on the road - with KSU next weekend. Those two series will be massive regarding Texas' chances to win the regular season crown.

Keep winning series. Going to need to sweep teams like BYU, Houston, and UCF.

Wow that Tech series win looks not great. They dropped 2/3 to UCF. Not really a signature series win anymore

While Tech is pretty meh this year UCF is 18-6 and is 5th in the RPI, Knights have a quality resume so far

UCF is a pretty decent ball club. But yeah, Tech isn’t up to their prior caliber.

OU dropping two games to lamar is interdasting.

Dropped all 3 games.  Lamar is 22-5 this morning.  We got season tix simply because they're close and well, it's baseball.  I think they are legit.

We are going to end up with them in a regional in college station with aggy and Texas State and get knocked out by Lamar lol

Sadly this is probably dead ass accurate. They love sticking us with aggy.

Yeah, that is a very realistic scenario. As is being shipped to Corvallis because no one else west of Fort Worth makes the postseason. Just kidding. Kind of....

Lamar has always been a program that I have found impressive.  Back in the Gus days they used to show up in our regional all the time and they wrecked shop, unless it was the Horns.

We won on the road despite their jihad.

It's a quality series win.

The everlasting Texas fan's consolation, in all sports - the other team tried really hard!

Oh, fuck off.

We won the series.

And if you think Texas Tech hasn't made Texas a special focus this year, you aren't paying attention.

Big 12 is currently third in overall RPI. As much as it seems the conference is down this season, RPI doesn't reflect it as much. However, things will continue to shake out.

League RPI will likely end up higher than last year but still won't come close to the SEC or ACC. There are more middle-of-the-pack teams this year than previous ones but less teams on the extremes (really good or really bad). Big 12 is probably a 6 bid league at best, which is meh considering 6 of the 9 teams made it last year.

Nice to finally beat ORU, we'd lost four straight to them (they did go to the CWS last year and are pretty bad this year so a lose would have sucked). Final conference Bedlam series this weekend. Goddamn I want to at least win two.

Every time I think TCU is about to turn the corner and go on a run, they do something dumb again. Apparently they are dealing with some injuries too.

And it's a real shame.

Wait, no, it isn't.

Time to start noticing UCF.   They beat KSt today for their 4th consecutive conference series win after being swept by OU to begin conference play.   21-8 overall, 8-7 in conference.  #6 RPI, only B12 school in top 25 (25).

Currently watching OkSt/OU (7-5 OKSt after 7).   Like watching a CWS game with the crowd.   They had 8K Friday and likely as many today.   They need to continue that series.

Definitely excited to take 2 from OU. They hit 12 home runs and still lost the series. We hit 8 I think. They walked in a bunch of runs today. Just a weird series. I think our pitching is looking good but then again 12 damn home runs. The rest of the season is gonna be crazy in the standings.
