how did they find ways to undermine Trump's ban on Muslims entering the country the first time? Snuck through the border?

if they can find ways to undermine Trump, why cant they find ways to undermine Biden?

After watching last week’s Masters of the Air, I was basically shaking with rage at the thought of Trump winning again. The aftermath of another Trump term will make Nuremberg look like a tea party

You don’t think Stephen Miller is going to go full on “round up the Jews and Muslims and gays” and commit massive atrocities?

This feels like another 2016 “oh it won’t be that bad, yall are just exaggerating”

Because Presidential politics is all about winning specific states now. Blue states are firmly blue. Red states are firmly red. Florida used to be the key state to win. It cost Gore the election in 2000. It, like Texas, will be red for the rest of our lives. So now the former Rust Belt holds most of the cards. Michigan and Pennsylvania will decide Trump or Biden. Ohio is a lost cause, it will stay red. So, yeah it's a problem if 100,000 Muslims in Michigan who voted for Biden in 2020 decide to sit out if he doesn't win the states he won in 2000.

The states that decided the last election were Nevada, Arizona, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. You want to switch to a winner take all popular vote, I'm for it.

You described exactly what I was asking. But didn't answer why the assignment is (falsely) put on a group that doesn't really have the numbers to move the needle.

Michigan 2020 saw Biden win Michigan by 154,188 votes.

So if ANY community with 100K is voting Republican, Democrat, or NOT voting at all, it will influence the election.

As to why Muslims are singled out as opposed to the 100K WASPs. You are probably thinking why don't people say "fuck those 100K WASPs for not voting for Biden" as opposed to assigning blame to the Muslims. The difference is the 100K WASPs are in the majority, and nothing bad will happen to them when the Leopard eats their faces. Yes, fuck them for not voting for Biden, sure, we all agree, but the Leopard isn't going to eat their face. The Leopard is definitely going to eat the Muslim faces. The Leopard will not only ban them from entering the country, he will ask Israel to kill all of them in the Middle East. He might even try to revoke their citizenship in the US, because he's a Leopard and that's what Leopards do. The 100K WASPs won't face any of those consequences, so while the WASPs do suck, and should face consternation for fucking us all over, logically, it deserves less consternation as they will face less consequences.

154 - 100  due not change the outcome, other than make it closer. This illustrates my point.

Your last paragraph is probably where it's at...  "You People better do what's best for you, because we don't have to worry about it. If things don't go your way, don't blame us."

Everyone should be concerned about face eating... I guess you can fake it when they come to eat your face.

Did you see the post two posts above yours? If Trump wins, they're coming after everybody, not just the Muslims.

Well that group is stating they have enough sway as a voting block to cost Joe Biden the entire state of Michigan because they're so angry over Gaza so.....

Perhaps you missed the time Bernie Bros not voting for HIllary were blamed for her losing to Trump. That was mostly white dudes.

Miller is talking about it casually. They aren't distancing from literally ROUNDING UP PEOPLE.

So yeah it's that fucking serious.

Scary when they talk about using their elected/confirmed powers to defeat evil.

I'm sure we all agree that we don't want evil in our lives or in the world but they're defining evil in their own terms when less than half of America agrees with them. And I don't want Dems defining and defeating evil either.

Lol yeah. He *looks* old as fuck, but he sounds good and delivers important messages. Absolutely stunning watching this, then watching the clip of Donald with Hannity spewing verbal diarrhea about criming. Media: That's just Donald riffing!

How someone can choose between a good man trying to do the right thing for people vs one spitting hate and talking about rounding people up is baffling... then again, Germany.

Random conspiracy theory thought from this morning: I wonder if Bibi is dragging his feet on a cease fire because it hurts Biden politically. I mean, obviously Bibi doesn't want a cease fire for a whole lot of reasons, but feels like that motivation could be in the mix there, too.

Last week I heard an interview with Peter Zeihan where he predicted that Trump will win neither Texas or Florida. Probably just a fantasy, but it's a glorious one. I'm ready to get hurt again.

Not a chance in hell would Texas go for Biden given Abbott's approval numbers. Florida is more likely but they seem to have the same phenomenon that Texas has of only red state assholes seem to be moving there.

Is he predicting that he will be dead by November?

Don't sell yourself short! You're also getting all of the blue state assholes who have long envied all those red state freedoms (one in particular) you've got.

I’d take that chance if it means trump is dead.

Yeah, that would be an interesting conundrum.  It'd be even more embarrassing for Texas than we already are, politically. Plus the margin of victory would be even bigger than last cycle because let's be honest---if he's dead, there's millions of us that won't even be voting against him because we'll be denied access to poling stations because we'll visibly fucked up on LSD, Cialis, and Miller High Life quarts.  If he does die between the convention and the general, and I think he will.  We really need like a buddy system thing where one of us well-checks on the other and gets them to the polls.  And then the voting guy can go back to his bender and then ween off and take the other to the polls later in early voting.

We're gonna need like a doodle poll thing or spreadsheet or something for shift sign-up.  I'm also gonna need some stain remover, gauze, and all the bottle you guys are saving for July 4th.

i still don't get how the Right loves Russia when that was somewhat satanic not too long ago.

Jon Stewart made a great observation on this topic.

The "great battle" used to be Communism vs Capitalism.  Obviously Russia and the US are on opposite sides, here.

Now, the "great battle" is woke vs. unwoke.  For Republicans, Russia is now an ally in this war.

All his incentives are to keep the war goi g on.

His government will collapse when the war time coalition disbands.

he’ll likely lose the resulting election

if he’s not prime minister he must stand trial and it’s likely he’ll be convicted

Trump is the most pliable American leader and will let him do whatever he wants

And in the event of him being convicted, Trump is likelier to grant him asylum if that ever takes place

So if he can hang on long enough, maybe he weathers the storm. Maybe he hangs on long enough for another admin that is friendlier to him politically and personally.

Theres really nothing short of the UN , which is toothless, that would incentivize Bibi to stop his current tract

So... I always wonder, and maybe one of you can explain... How is it that any minority group is the mover of the election?

On one hand, the comment is that X minority community doesn't vote. On the other hand, that same minority community is supposed to deliver a win to the D party.

To me, it always sounds like a way to keep minorities as 'them'.

Look at the last page or two of the thread... Muslims are a threat to the Ds... And should vote D because they're going to cause Trump to win.

If Trump wins, it won't be because 100,000 Muslims in Michigan or 10,000 black people in middle Ohio didn't vote Biden. It will be because millions of the majority that actually control the vote will have spoken and chosen Trump.

Why does this charade exist and get repeated?

To be fair there are some very vocal and PR savvy members of this constituency that are hyping up their ability to sway the election because they think it’s a pressure point.

I don’t think “give us what we want on foreign policy or we will help hand the country over to an extremist” is a great long-term play for Muslim and Arab-American voters on multiple levels. But it’s the one a few of their leading reps have chosen.

Here is an interesting profile of one of the leaders. In my reading he comes off very poorly, as a person who has let symbolism take over for governing.

I get that this is a chance for a very small, and marginalized population in a critical state to be heard politically about their views on Gaza/Islam/Palestine.  You wanna seize the moment, I get it.  They'll never hold this much sway in the news ever again.  I knew this would happen in some Muslim communities in the Midwest as soon as the war broke out.  I get it.  There are parallels from other cultural, ethnic, and religious populations throughout American history who've done the same.

But like the KGB Deputy Secretary shouts at the scientist at the end of the Chernobyl mini-series..."What difference will it make when his trains take you away?"
