No unskewing necessary. Trump is stuck in mid or low 40s. Nationally or swing states. Donald Trump hasn’t gained voters. Why is this hard for you to grasp?

This is not good for Biden in swing states and this is going to cost Dems the election if it continues to trend this way because of the Electoral College.

Trump is below his 2020 results in every state except Virginia.

Do you have a source for that? Because this info from an earlier post I made says otherwise.

This is baffling. If reports are accurate of big donor money being withheld, it’s already over for the campaign. Just impossible to carry on without that.

Guys, gals, whathaveyou’s — this is my regretful first cr post but I must point out this official social media shit is completely and utterly meaningless advertising drivel that likely was scheduled days or weeks in advance by an intern. There is nothing of value to glean from it. If there is no donor support, and all signs suggest there is none, the cake is fucking baked and Joe is no better off than Chuck F’ing Strong was on November 25, 2016. Bring on the chaos.

Higher numbers good?

Polls not arbiter of outcome, nor only piece of data, have large caveats, cannot be taken face value, can be influenced by people conducting them. Take poll with healthy dab of salt.

What if the polling firms have been compromised?  I seemed to have read that in the last 4 years GQP affiliated entities have become more interested in polling and have started them and/or acquired interest in them.

I can see how a lot of their legal strategies and arguments in the court of public opinion could be buttressed by polls showing consistently inflated Trump support by implementing flawed methodology by design.  Then when Biden wins they say the election was rigged, pointing to all the polling as evidence.

I think the polls are wrong too, as we know both Trump and 3rd party candidates have a hard ceiling and the 3 way polls consistently exceed that hard cap looking at aggregate Trump + RFK totals.

im sure Fox News is only using the most unbiased polls ….

Based on them being wrong constantly. In addition, the media outlets pushing them got bought by MAGA dickheads, or Trump campaign affiliates making their own polling firms. The. Polls. Are. Wrong

You are being obtuse. The polls are lagging. The people on here telling you that they have friends that are sitting out, are probably speaking for more than just those people. This is going to be a bloodbath if they don’t get him out of there. I can’t describe to you how bad Biden looks in the circles I’m in. And these are not “hard r” Conservative people. If this isn’t fixed soon, we will have many years of trump family reign.

Just in the last 72 hours:

Trump said that Kim Jong Un "misses" him.

Trump said that he "kinda liked that” when the head of the Taliban called him “Your Excellency"

Trump praised the Chinese dictator Xi Jinping: “He's a brilliant man. He controls 1.4 billion people with an iron fist."

Trump said that Viktor Orban wants him back in the Oval Office.

Trump said that Putin will release Evan Gershkovich only if he wins in November.

Trump praised dictators and autocrats: "They're all smart, tough. They love their country", adding that getting along with them is a "good  thing."

Even with the small number of people wanting Biden to stay, does anyone seriously think he can actually serve another full four years?

No. And does anyone care? It’s not like if he dies, Trump becomes President

I actually saw a post on Reddit, and it would never happen, of a Harris/Sanders ticket. Would actually get the youth vote out. If only Bernie was 10 years younger

God, no.  No more old folks.

Trump led in every region of the state, including in metro Detroit — defined as Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties and seen as the most predominantly Democratic region in Michigan — where he held a slim but remarkable 46%-44% edge in the head-to-head matchup with Biden and a 43%-38% margin in the five-way race.

This poll is obviously bullshit.

Joe Biden has already persuaded older white voters to support him, Kamala has not. For a Democrat, convincing older, and moderate white voters to support them is always the hardest part. We just need to get Democrats to stop panicking and vote for the Democratic president.

Except for the fact that they voted for her as veep.  I don't think she lacks the backing you think she does among Biden voters.  I don't think she can beat Trump, but at this point, I don't think Biden can, either, and all the other choices are complete wishcasting.

I don’t believe so. That vid posted a couple pages back of him making his way from limo to Air Force one was last.

If there's one thing that someone can hang on Biden that would be the end of democracy it would be making Merrick Garland the AG.

JD Vance is one of those morons whose Venmo transactions were public.

Wow.  I have a couple of decades on the guy, and I'm about as far from a Bay Area VC as you can get, but even my Venmo transactions are private.  Way to go, dummy.

Well if anyone is curious how any stupider this could get, Aaron Sorkin published an op-ed that the Dems should nominate Mitt Romney

i dont want to live on this planet anymore GIF

Yeah, I saw that on Twitter.  What a fucking waste of time.  I cancelled the NYT subscription I had for 20 years three days ago because of "thought exercises" like that.

Meanwhile, over at Huffpo, my other main source of news, they relentlessly blast out "Biden's getting replaced" day and night in hopes getting clicks.

Joe Manchin has unsurprisingly joined the “pass the torch” crew. 38 Democratic Members of Congress now. If you believe the rumors there will be close to triple 36 tomorrow. Even with the SS hearing on the Hill regarding the assassination attempt.

the optics we all know suck. Trump is saying Dems are socialists that are trying to ignore 14 million votes in favor of putting their own candidate in the mix and forcing Biden out. The Dems are going to let him have the optics of running against “no clear opponent” for a couple of weeks while the Repubs take in the cash hand over fist.

I don’t know if the rumors are true about this many Congressional Dems defecting tomorrow and joining the now 38 but if there is not any announcement or signal from Biden he will step aside I guess we will find out.

lol there is no way Trump leads in metro Detroit (the sentence could end here), where Biden won by 400k votes with a 60% overall vote share, and only leads the state by marginally more. That implies Biden is at a near standstill in the other half of the state, where he was comparatively beaten soundly.

This is, I think, the main consequence of delaying the inevitable, and it’s that the GOP donor class has gotten excited over the prospect of facing a weak candidate.  I doubt it’s useful for getting Trump votes but the money is going to get spent hammering every flub made by the Democratic nominee.

For some reason I have remembered the conventions being held much closer together. It benefits the Dems to have it later bc nothing is settled. But the issue is money. GOP finished their convention and are hitting the campaign trail. And as of right now yes they are running against Biden/Harris but the optics are they are running against no clear opponent. The money blow is devastating. Some have said most campaigns are won in July. I don’t buy that but if it’s true it’s bc of the money and if that’s true it’s all over but the shouting. But we go down fighting. 🥊

I saw a graphic I was too lazy to screenshot on CNN about the war chests for each party yesterday:

GOP: 350 million Dems: 240 million

It can always be worse.

For example, you're China sitting there watching this and you think "hey maybe this IS the time to get rowdy with Taiwan".

Shit like that.
