I was lifelong friends with attorney Scott Ogle before he passed away a few months ago. He was the same way. I could write books about the crazy stuff that happened to him or around him.  It was lifelong with him. I first noticed it in fourth grade. There's a monkey lose in an office building in Corpus? I knew immediately somehow Scott was involved.  There's a camel trespassing on Gary Clark Jr.'s property? I knew my boy was involved.  Somebody started an escort service from his condo in West Campus and somehow managed to put together a roster of the most stunning co-eds you've ever seen, all of whom he slept with at some point? Somebody convinced the folks at Spec's Buy and Fly to sell weed, which he could order to be delivered via his phone?

4th&five is not usually the instigator...shit just happens to him. He is more like if you are going to a concert with him, it is guaranteed that the guy that we end up standing next to likely snuck in his cat and his own guitar and is going to try to play along every song himself in the middle of the crowd while on drunk and on heroin. or if you ever get on a flight and the person in the row in front of you is a guy that puts on an S&M mask reciting some anti-vax screed while they have a banana stuck in their rectum, the person behind you is having a seizure from doing too much cocaine in the plane bathroom, and the person across the aisle has their headphones on but is singing Gimme dat Nut or Blowjob Betty along loud enough for the whole plane to hear while coincidentally finding out in flight that she had previously fucked the three different mormon guys in the row behind her and has a kid with one of them that they don't know about and then they get into a fight where a bunch of racist shit is screamed, i guarantee you that you are sitting next to 4th&five who is just sitting there quietly reading a book with earbuds in. i cannot tell you how many football games i have been to with him when people around us that have nothing to do with us either nearly die at the game or are arrested. whenever i see a "florida man" story, i always try to recall if i have witnessed the fact pattern while in his presence. the bizarre part of it is that he is a completely chill and unassuming guy.

I see a tweet from Stein on the first part. Are you sure about the 250 and under? One reason I ask is that I would expect a bunch of “double-max” donors yesterday.
There is a max donation for the primary and for the general. As soon as Harris accepted the nomination, her general started and a bunch of “double max” donors could finish out their pledge. But those donations are $3300 each phase now.

Source was Josh Friedman, a journalist on bsky but I don't see it covered elsewhere.

At this point that's pretty much the only hope.

Timothy Melon’s an odd dude.

A Pedigreed Rail Magnate Is Pouring Millions Into Electing Donald Trump

Timothy Mellon, a reclusive heir to a storied fortune, is spending tens of millions to elect Donald J. Trump. Precisely what he wants in return is one of many curiosities surrounding him.

The same Timothy Mellon who had this to say in his late 40s

Quote

Something had obviously gone dreadfully wrong with the Great Society and the Liberal onslaught. Poor people had become no less poor. Black people, in spite of heroic efforts by the "Establishment" to right the wrongs of the past, became even more belligerent and unwilling to pitch in to improve their own situations.... Drugs rose to the level of epidemic. Single parent families became more and more prevalent. The likes of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton pandered endlessly to fan the flames

and just a quick editorial but the 180 we're seeing here is breathtaking. I guess the Dems finally got tired of being punched and called weak and are finally punching back. The gloves are off and I don't see us going back. She said it herself. All the old tropes are gone. This is a new era and I'm 100% here for it

What am I missing? He takes fewer points from Harris than Trump and the net effect is Trump closes the gap?

You're missing the part where RFK dropped out so the math is based on those voters going back to Trump and Harris. So more go back to Trump.

It’s a fucking donut. You order an old fashioned, a Long John or a cake donut. How out of touch to have no idea what kind of donuts to order. Like Hillary

when you’re dealing with a huge dumbass, he must be told exactly what to order so he doesn’t show his dumbassness

If he is already on the ballot, does it actually matter if he drops out?

This is great, but isn't it very close to Hillary's majority in 2016, when she lost?

Also, if RFK was going to get something like 2% nationally (allegedly), where do they land, if they still vote at all?

This still feels way too close.  Bafflingly close.  And therefore very dangerous.  I'm just gonna sweat for the next 80 or so days.

Just got off the phone with my twin brother. UT grad and public school teacher. Told him there was simply no way I could vote for Trump. He said he was going to cancel me out. No big deal , it's Texas after all.

He pulled out all the old tropes. Kamila slept here way to the top. etc. Also said I should go to church more..whatever.

I only bring this up because I think we need to know what we are up against. He is not only a teacher but his wife was too (retired). Also, they have a special needs down syndrome  child.

When I started bringing up facts like Trump is a serial philanderer and a rapist, he cut me off and changed the subject. But before he did that, mentioned that Rs were better at the economy etc. with a completely uninformed opinion.

I guess he just an R voter and nothing else really matters. I'm just disappointed given his demographics.

BTW I am a construction business owner and a CPA, so by all accounts the results should be swapped.

He didn't watch the the R or D conversations, so he is likely not a voter that would be swayed. So he doesn't matter. He is   close to retirement so not likely he identifies with other teachers.

What church does Trump goto ?
