Where are these so called new trump voters coming from?

Young families with kids perhaps. Completely anecdotal, but I've been disheartened by how many parents I know who have been lured into the emotional trap of the accelerated trans in our schools (oh my!) push over the past few years.

Combine that with short memories and the average person's completely inability to understand cause and effect around inflation, and there's a reality where he gets more votes than 2020. Not 80M+ or anything, but not the lack of enthusiasm decline we're all hoping for.

Thats Portland Oregon.  Way more likely one of the leftist anarchists did this than any conservative(as there literally are none).

So your position is there are no conservative shitbags in Oregon?  Or that cars don't exist?

I could probably make a case that the young white male "Rogan" crowd has increased over the last few years, but 1) that's probably the least reliable demographic (when it comes to accomplishing anything, not just voting) in the country and 2) no way it more than offsets stories like the one you present.

Look, there could be a well of new voters who are upset about inflation and have chosen right now, in 2024, to finally participate in our democracy and express their frustration about egg prices, because they have some rose tinged memory of Trump's pre covid economy (which was solid, but it wasn't like it was the first couple of years of Kennedy's presidency).....and if that's the case, then Trump's going to win, maybe bigly.   But those voters, when inflation was actually really bad in 2022 (I do the shopping in my house, and I had plenty of WTF moments while standing in Wegman's during that fall), didn't feel the need to show up at the polls during a mid terms.  So I'm sorta struggling, from a subjective stand point of how now they now are ready to vote for Trump, with even more Facism, when they've sat out of the political system most of their adult lives.

To qoute Huckleberry: None of us know shit about fuck, but the logic here is very confusing.

This is where I'm at. I don't follow how you net more votes doing the shit that Trump has done. It's easy to see a net of votes for the Harris plan.

Or they did show up in 2022 and were upset with inflation but were more upset with the idea of their 12 year old daughter being forced to have a baby.

His only play is to get a bunch of hateful pieces of shit who don't normally vote to vote for him because he'll punish those who they hate. It worked in 2016. I think he's tapped out on that demographic which should be cancelled out by the few "traditional" republicans who are brave enough to vote for Harris or at least stay home. If Trump wins it will be a clear signal that a sizeable majority of our citizens are racist hateful shitbags. A Harris win will at least provide some hope that they are losing the war and that at least a slim majority aren't complete human garbage.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately.

I think modern life is failing people in many ways. It's not just the rules we play by, it's the very structure of our lives. Fairly or not, people blame our leaders.

Trump is promising people he will burn it all the fuck down. And they believe him. They know he's a liar and a degenerate scumbag, but they don't care. They want to see it burn.

Do I agree with this viewpoint? No. Is it wise or constructive IMO? No.

This is just what I keep coming back to when I try to understand what the non-super-partisan Trump voters are thinking.

That's kinda the only other thing I can come up with, and if it's true, then our democracy will be burned to the ground.

NYT has Trump +10 in Texas (lol no) but Cruz only +4

Also Harris +12 in NE-02 and only -4 in NE-01

So 6% of Texans the NYT polled were like:

Pollster: So how are you feeling about Trump?
Voter: I am all aboard the Trump Train ... love me some Trump!

Pollster: And what about Ted?
Voter: Holy crap not that guy again, who's he running against?

The Dobbs effect is far away the most under-reported story of this campaign. It's almost completely ignored by our political media, because all of the editors are old white men.

No, it's because media wants a ratings horse race.  They know.

There was a 7 or 8 year old dressed as Trump at my daughter’s school’s trunk or treat last week. Ear bandage and everything. Running around like a fucking spaz. I resisted the urge to trip him.

Ok so now answer the second question, genius

Of course there is a chance it was a conservative who did it.  It also could be teenagers just doing stupid shit.

Point is the PNW is FULL of people so far left they find Kamala repellant.  Those people outnumber conservatives in PDX 10to 1.

here is a case study.

They talked about this exact thing on The Daily today. Trump is betting that he can drive up the margins with white males under 40. That's why he's been doing all these podcast interviews and why he's seemingly given up on courting the women's vote. Could be brilliant, could be stupid. Only the election will tell the tale.

Social media. Your parents and neighbors are 1 click away on Facebook and YouTube from getting brainwashed by right wing trash.
Go look at the top 25 podcasts on Spotify; about 50% are far right or Rogan bros.

Well I’m glad you know who the “they” are in my post. I’m also glad you’re in understanding that your people will try to fuck with the tabulation (again).

One of the many things I hate about these elections is that they ruin Halloween every four years. Hell every two years.

10 to 1?  I'm not so sure of that.  Biden beat Trump 4:1 in Multnomah Country.

Sorry the ragebait of ballots being destroyed in PDX doesn't pass the sniff test.  Kamala wins the vote in Portland by 249,950 vs 250,000....

I'm shocked that you'll hand wave away the horrific act itself, and what it represents, and focus on the final outcome.

"Jan 6th didn't change anything, so what's the big deal?" I've seen this quite a bit with people I'd otherwise consider to be normal. It's terrifying.

Do you have any children, Incredulity? Are any of them women? If so, and one went out of date and the guy attempted to sexually assault her, but she managed to fight back and get away, would you just say "Eh, no harm no foul, it's no big deal?"

I'm not asking where MAGA morons hang out get their news or listen. I'm asking about where are all these new MAGA people coming from?

kids do tend to have parents...  and parents tend to have beliefs and world views they pass on.

This is it.  Can think of two people in my "sphere" right now.

One lives in the CenTex area... used to be more vocal about her Trumpiness but seems to have stopped being so obvious.  Still Trumpy.  She sometimes posts pics of her son running around wearing a Let's Go Brandon-style hat.  More I can say about this particular family but I'll leave it at that.

Another lives in the Katy area... always smiling. Nice and friendly to your face.  Trumper to the core with kids running around with Turnip hats.

This is exhibit A of the downfall of our society.  Sure, there have been masks of politicians that adults have worn over the years for comic effect (or to use in Point Break) but I've never seen any kid dressed up as a president, current or former.

Like, what the actual fuck.

It would be wild if the Democrats somehow survived 2022, when inflation was so much worse, only for it to sink them in 2024 after the problem has been basically managed.

But nobody said politics is fair.

It would help if the average Joe understood what inflation actually is.

Because your politics is your sports team now. You dress your kids up in UT gear and have them cheer the team. Well, MAGA dressed their kids in MAGA gear and has them cheer for the MAGA side.

And Washington DC voted 92% for Biden. I guess it was them that attacked the Capitol on Jan 6. Solid logic there, Lou. If there's one thing right wing terrorists aren't known for its traveling to places where libruls are acting all librul. Little Kyle Rittenhouse was obviously a big lib resident of Minneapolis.

Yeah. Pieces of shit never travel to do unsavory shit, amirite?

Well as stated my point it its far more likely someone on the far left did this specific act.  They have shown a repeated propensity to destroy public property in Portland to express their political opinion.

I guess someone could be stupid enough to think they could influence the outcome of an election by destroying ballots in a highly blue area one drop box at a time.
