Abby Phillip's show is a shitshow every night. Giving MAGA Republicans a platform with equal speaking time in a panel discussion...disgraceful. CNN is deeply unserious and craves shock value to keep the lights on.

Her ratings were in the tank until she added mud wrestling. Now she’s CNN’s must see TV.

In case anyone cares, Mehdi Hasan is a naturalized citizen of the US, born and raised in England, and attended Oxford.  He is Muslim, which apparently was the angle Gidursky was taking when he implied Hasan is a Lebanese terrorist.  Maybe they all look alike to him?

I believe the preceding comment had to do with anti-semitism, to which Hasan responded that he's not an antisemite but he's pro Palestine so he's used to the accusation to which the self immolator said that he hopes his beeper doesn't go off on that shitty shitty sneery tone people use when trying to put others in their place.

poof self immolation complete, next step self defenestration

Yup I hate what they’re done to Abby. She’s not the right host for that type of show.

I thought the beeper thing was because of those suicidal terrorist dudes having explosive vests that beep before they go off. Still fucked up though.

Beyond fucked up, it's irredeemable. That's career suicide there's no way back from it.

Nevada is dumb. No one knows.

It's so crazy it reminds me of around 10 years ago when republican dudes couldn't stop talking about rape. why are you saying these things out loud, and holy fuck what dark shit is lurking behind whatever filter you have engaged?

He’ll make a mint off of this by hitting the grifter circuit claiming he was “cancelled”.

Maybe that. Maybe he’s gonna be the press secretary in Trump’s admin. But make no mistake, he’ll do well - the hate business is lucrative these days.

Holy shit. Watching his face realize he just ruined whatever TV future he had was amazing. Fuck that dude whoever the fuck he is.

He’s already playing the “they can’t take a joke” card. Same card Tony Hinchcliffe is playing. And so is Bo French. There is definitely a concerted effort by MAGA to say the most offensive shit possible and then say it’s only a joke, why don’t Dems have a sense of humor.

The good news is that in person votes are super tiny, Nevada is an opt out mail in ballot state, meaning everyone got their mail in ballots and that is where the ease of voting is, fill it out and put in the mail box, not in person.

Honest question - Why does the GOP have this last minute obsession with the transgender in schools subject? That seems to be the sudden focus of every political ad on TV and spam texts.

I get that it’s a cheap scare tactic but the only reason I can see that they would run with this is because they think it plays well with undecided voters. Why that topic and not immigration or the economy? Is America that dumb that one party thinks the key to winning a presidential election is to convince people their children may go to school and get a sex change? Or that inmates are getting sex changes in prison and this is the thing our country needs to worry about?

They've spent money on focus groups and polling and this ticks some boxes for the boomers and the incles, more than immigration does (the anti-Haitian rhetoric did not go the way Donnie hoped it would).

Plus, LBGTQs are the last people they can truly and openly demonize without the media coming down on them too hard. The LBGTQ are extremely vulnerable politically and personally as we've seen in Texas with Texas Republican leaders going after them. I'm honestly surprised some MAGA dipshit hasn't killed a bunch of LBGTQ folks recently.

The argument seems to be that it's a "character issue."  But, Trump ain't winning the character issue with anyone that isn't already part of his base.

Plus, they're annoying and repetitive as fuck, even if you ignore the lies and hate.

Actually, what I got from it was that the strategy was to bring her negatives up or in other words bring her down to his level. Same theory adopted by Cruz.  We will see but the fact that their information seemed to support the idea that the issue causes people to view Harris more unfavorable is pretty on brand with what we have become as a country.

I literally have no idea who Gidirsky (or whatever) is but his career is far from over, about to get a lifetime contract from Newsmax, or Elon, his celebrity just took off and he’s a hero to 40 something percent of this fucking country.

We've got friends that are Puerto Ricans here in Austin (both of them are here because of work), they were born and raised in Puerto Rico, met and married there, and their kids were born there, and they go back every chance they get.  We've known them for five years, have camped with them, done a lot of kid-related activities with them, and I've never heard anything out of either one of them about politics.

A quick peek at the husbands Facebook from the past 5 years or so shows nothing political.

That changed in the past 24 hours. He's furious, he's calling on a lot of his relatives and friends to vote against Trump, he's reposted the video, he even posted the Vance video, and he's getting a lot of responses (and his wife has said her piece). They are even bringing up videos during the hurricane response, etc.

That's just one couple, but I imagine that there are a lot of these conversations happening right now among a lot of Puerto Ricans.  Is it enough to have an impact?  When you have some of the top Catholics in  Puerto Rico and the head of the Puerto Rican GOP calling on Trump to personally apologize...I have to think that carries a lot of weight.

You may not know the answer, but why are they just realizing this NOW?  Are they really THAT checked out that they didn't realize he and his party are completely batshit racist and against their existence?  Serious question.  Even if you "don't pay attention to politics", I find it insane that you wouldn't know these people are actively against you.
