This is a good example of the twitter misinformation machine, and why embeds should be turned off in the CR.

There are zero media reports out there that identify this individual as a republican. That appears to be totally manufactured nonsense. The situation in AZ was a man lighting a regular USPS drop box on fire, not a ballot drop box. Every article I have seen shares quotes from the investigating officers that report that the fire was not politically motivated, was not targeting the election, and the perp was an individual well known to the local police that wanted to do something to get himself arrested.

man, it's like you can't even go around lighting mailboxes on fire without it being 'political'.

sad.

Sure but those kids are going need a few years til they have the required strength to work in the plants.

Of course.

That's what the pre-deportation "internment camps" will be for - to bridge that gap till the new wave of babies turns 9-10 (prime working age).  See, first we round up the dirty browns (illegals, immigrants, citizens, it don't make a shit).  Then, we decree that they have each cost the country $1 million, and they first need to work off their debt, THEN we'll deport them.  And we will provide them a handy-dandy way to work off their debt: work in all the meat plants, construction jobs, etc. that they were already doing, except now, their wages are paid directly to the US Government (via PO Box that just happens to be near Mar A Lago).  And those workers, working off their debt, will be available only to a limited number of enterprises that meet the "sufficiently MAGA" criteria, which are 1) declare unwavering obedience to Trump and 2) send/funnel lots of money to Trump.

Voila: crisis averted, Trump enriched, Trump donors enriched, dark people functionally enslaved.  Gosh almighty, it just makes ya tingly to think about it!

I'm talking about mass deportation.

My inner evil asshole would laugh and laugh at those idiots trashing the economy by deporting immigrants... straight up destroying agriculture, meat packing, service industry, construction, etc...  "How could this have happened?!!1!, Who could have seen this coming?"

Who indeed

It's a cynical load of bullshit to get votes.

Always has been.

The economy would grind to a halt and go into reverse if they tried anything close to what they promise.

It will be hell on earth but it will line up to my ideology better, thus a better place.

Well that is the thing. They won't do shit. Especially not with Trump in charge. You would need somebody insane and fanatically ideological to actually do this plan. Trump is many things but his ideology is Trump, not nativist anarcho-capitalism.

You know, I'd love to be in a system where we only spend what we have. But he'd be cutting social security, medicare/medicaid, obamacare, education. Every single social safety net and program that improves us as people. And there's no guarantee they would ever return even if we got debt to zero. We have to cut ourselves out of debt, but we hvae to tax ourselves out of debt too.

Sure I would to. And we were in that system before Republicans massively started slashing taxes. And they will do so again once in power. No amount of cuts will fix it.

Mildly interesting: Trump had an affair (that hasn't been reported on yet) before he was President and paid for the woman's abortion. The woman is a Black public figure from Texas, Tamron Hall. NBC had the information before the 2016 election but killed the story. https://www.interestingmysteries.com/p/the-rumor

see?? he's not racist!

But here we are.

Here is an article directly related to this incident:

https://www.azfamily.com/2024/10/24/usps-blue-collection-box-damaged-by-fire-overnight-phoenix/

Here is the police statement:

https://www.phoenix.gov/policesite/MediaAdvisories/Arson 3900 N 7th Ave.pdf

Here is another from a prior run in with police:

https://www.abc15.com/news/crime/pd-duct-taped-suspect-held-for-glendale-police-after-attacking-surprise-officer

Replying only because I suspect a significant number of posters have Ana on ignore, just an important reminder that it's not just @tx 3 putt who posts semi-random tweets that may or may not be bullshit. Always good to be a little suspicious about news we want to see.

its never been about reducing the debt. its about saying that to trick the masses but really its all about tax cuts. that's all its ever been about. they will burn down everything we are as a country for tax cuts for themselves and they don't care because FUCK YOU, I GOT MINE.

That is the last 50 years of Republican Party. That's it. That's the entire purpose and meaning.

This week, I feel like I've bypasses the ledge and just tied a rope arund my wasit to an ugly trump looking gargoyle and I'm just swinging around, waiting for that ugly fuck to topple and crush me or for the rope to just break.

Can we meet at China Family on Airport? It isn't crowded and it can sometimes smell like a toilet, but damn if that Chongqing Spicy Chicken isn't the fucking bomb. I guess we better eat it up now though before they're purged.

So did we ever decide if Kamala Harris should go on Joe Rogan's podcast?

Don’t give a fuck. I wouldn’t bail on any other plans to do so if I was her. Itnwould be a nice to have and she’d kick ass but I don’t think it would move the needle much with that group.

Yeah, locking down Puerto Rico's imaginary electoral votes is a step below huge.

Username checks out.
A couple of things - first, the Puerto Rican paper is really more of an indicator of sentiment then a driver of behavior. Second, and far more importantly however, 2/3 of all "Puerto Ricans" actually reside in the mainland US, including about 6% of the population in Florida and nearly 4% of the population of Pennsylvania.
