My financial advisor has been telling me for 9 years that a Democratic victory is going to ruin the stock market. Wrong every time so far. But for all the credit given to "Wall Street" and their prescience, you'd think they'd be overwhelmingly preaching the Biden/Harris polices to teh high heaven. We've got our soft landing, the stock market is booming, manufacturing is on the rise thanks to their policies, and everyone is fucking making money. And yet, they still favor Trump.

At some point, you have to question if these people are deliberately tipping the scales against their best corporate interests. I guess their stock/bonus at the end of the year trumps corporate profits thanks to the Tax cuts...

why wouldn't you fire this idiot?

He's been a close friend for a # of decades. A lot of my circle use him. And as I said before, I generally dictate what I want, and he only handles a very conservative area of my portfolio. So basically, it's hard for him to fuck up. And in my experience with people in finance and personal wealth, they ALL fucking say the same shit.

Super clean website that citypulse. I clicked on it so the rest of you do not have to. The rest of that quote is pretty outstanding. Why is it so fucking hard to understand? ....

Trump and his allies have done grave damage to the Republican Party — both in Michigan and nationally.

If I recall correctly, the Michigan Republican Party was taken over by the idiot MAGA faction and has run it into the fucking ground.  They have either expelled or repulsed the old guard and have basically bankrupted the state party.  This endorsement is about Harris, but is also an attempt to regain control of the state Party.  I applaud both.

You’re correct. Michigan and AZ GOP parties are bankrupt and broken. That’s what happens when you let people like Kristina Karamo and Kellie Ward take over

If turnip loses (when?) next week, will the R party split into two going forward? the maga wing and the “we are normal republicans” wing?

If Trump loses, this could be one of those generational swings in american politics. I could see the MAGA republicans breaking off into their own Newsmax world.

This is what we thought may happen after 2012 Obama with the Tea Party. Instead, it just created MAGA.

Yeah but the Tea Party absolutely hurt the GOP for a while in downballot races. Think Sharron Angle and Christine O’Donnell.

Even though the Idaho dairy association lead says that a crackdown on illegal workers will end dairy production in Idaho, I bet he still votes Trump. He will tell himself that Trump isn’t talking about their production workers or that it’s just hyperbole. Then when Stephen Miller’s brown shirts come for the workers, the Idaho dairy farmers will ask and receive a handout from Trump for being a loyal state.

Trump must leave the stage. He's the glue holding it together.

When that happens, who takes over? Does Laura stick around and continue to siphon off money to the family, or do they leave and find their next grift?

Until we know either of these things the GOP is stuck with MAGA.

Interesting.  In 2016, I wondered if a third party would rise from a Democratic Party Schism.

Yet, it's 2024, and here we are, looking at the Great GOP Schism.  Fuck the GOP.

The GOP will get rid of Laura Trump as soon as Trump is gone.  They know what she's doing and it was only done to humor Trump.

Before Laura walks out, all of the RNC paperwork gets burned and the email/data gets deleted. And those left behind will be reminded of the NDAs to the Trump family and the penalties for violating them.

continues to bottle the mind how anyone could really believe that trumpco didn't fully endorse the joke - the fuckin thing was on the teleprompter!

100%. Nobody who's ever seen/heard Tony Hinchcliffe would ever put him out there as the lead speaker if that's not the tone you were trying to set in the first place. That was no accident. It was exactly what they wanted.

The MAGA Republicans ARE the Republicans now. There are a lot of people I would have called "chamber of commerce" Republicans prior to 2016, but those people have gotten really, really comfortable saying the quiet parts out loud over the past 8 years. It's going to have to be the Liz Cheney and Mitt Romney types that split off and start a new party. Will they take enough people with them to keep MAGA out of power until all the olds die off? That's the real question.

It started before 2016. The original MAGA, the tea party started it. MAGA just kicked it in warp speed.

best thing for democrats to do is continue to go more moderate and pull in the ostracized traditional/fundamental republicans to their side. It would allow the most party growth and ability to take house/senate.

Don't we think that is happening now? Boebert nearly got ousted in 2020 in a very red district, Cruz is up against it (again)... NC is about to flip (fingers crossed and I realize this is gov related largely). GA did flip. Maybe it's not the same magnitude but this feels somewhat analogous.

This just seems like a shitty C level Legion of Doom.

Elon is a a weirder version of Lex Luther.

Tulsi is Cheetah? Catty as fuck.

And I guess RFK jr is a Bizarro Kennedy?

These people have sided with a wannabe dictator. If Kamala wins, they can move to the fucking left or stay with whatever monstrosity follows Trump.

Trump isn't willingly leaving politics until he's dead.  There's too much money there.

The fuck it is. Dem policies are wildly popular and Republicans and their policies are horrible. All Dems need to do is keep pointing out what deranged freaks Republicans are and they'll get all the voters who don't love the deranged shit.

Boebert would have been ousted had she stayed in CD-3.  Instead, she got a lifeline because of Ken Buck's retirement.  Otherwise she'd be out on her ass in a week.
