I can't take any more of this shit. Please, God, let this be the last week I have to worry about that dumbass scoundrel Donald Trump.

Same. It'll probably feel like that for about 12 hours if she wins. We'll all be toasting and doing shots and feeling proud. And that's about when the Stop the Steal 2 election boogaloo will kick in and we'll have to sweat it out for another 2-3 months.

I hate to agree with this person, but this was an own goal by Biden. Distracts from Harris and distracts from Trump lighting himself on fire.

Ah yes all those fence sitters are going to see this quote and say “I just can’t vote for a party whose leader would something like that about the other side”

Before I got to the second line I thought it was going to be about Fayette county PA and immediately thought “are there any?”

I thought the maga mantra was “fuck your feelings?”

Question Mark What GIF by MOODMAN

I mean Biden was clearly not calling a single person garbage. He was clearly calling the actions of Tony Hinchcliffe garbage. Not even calling Tony Hinchcliffe himself garbage.

Yet somehow they spin this into Biden calling tens of millions of people garbage. And that is useful to them. Were they really that upset Clinton actually did refer to some of his supporters as deplorables? No, it was just useful. And misquoting Biden will be useful. Their feelings were not actually hurt.

No one gives a shit what Biden says or does anymore.  Shouldn't be that way, he is the President for the next 3 months no matter, but absolutely no one cares.   He literally doesn't move the meter one bit.

I would bet that at least 10% of "undecided" voters think that Harris is the current president.  Because fuck this timeline.

Best case scenario.  This is where we are.  God dammit.

Short of starting WW3, in the next week Biden can say or do just about anything without there being a single bit of impact on any of this.

In thinking of my earlier lame duck heel tour of red states, I thought about him stopping the Iron Bowl, with 7 minutes left in the 3rd quarter, just to do a 45 minute presentation on Medicare.  Fucking lean into it.

I didn't really want to post this because it's totally anecdotal but I live in Utah. I'm still running into trumpers but I noticed that Trump signage is way, way down, to the point it's almost non existent. I was here last election and the signs were everywhere. I don't know if it's shame or if it's actually people who have turned. Also seeing "Republicans for Harris" signs which I don't recall seeing in the last election. Utah is not going for Harris but it feels like something different is happening here. I really hope this signals something greater that the national level.

Yeah, but have you seen any Harris Walz Stanley cups?

The main disaster from the comment is that it takes away from the racist PR shit, had it happened two days from now it would have been less damaging, maybe some periphery MAGA now decides to vote but I don't think a single undecided will change.

The only place that Biden comment is going to gain any traction is on Fox News and Twitter. I guess MAGA can run ads on TV about it but they're sorta running out of time and Kamala can just run one of Trump calling the USA a piece of garbage. The only people outraged are little bitches like the sad Astros fan. Can't even win a fucking home game in the playoffs. Even the Yankees can do that.

if Biden offends people who have no problem with the multiple hour racist-fest that Trump put on, I don’t really see that as affecting the race.

I post this also because I thought Sushihorn actually called the 2008 crash correctly before it happened. But that was 16 years ago so maybe my memory is fuzzy.

It has nothing to do with offending people. They just think they can turnaround the PR comment by making others think they are equal. They will just try to will it into existence. But the strength of their right wing ecosystem is to constantly push misinformation over several years and kill an issue or candidate. It’s why Kamala taking over at the last minute countered what they do best.

That would have been amazingly prescient if there were Republicans for Harris signs in 2020.

I've been thinking about this but I think we're going to be dealing with a "legal coup".

I think Harris wins. But on election night Trump will declare victory. Trump supporters in government from Trump states will refuse to certify and try to send alternate electors. The case will go to the supreme court. That's when the tipping point gets tested.

If the Supreme Court is in the bag 5-4 to support a coup they will rule it constitutional and then we have what? A civil war? Harris as the rightful winner won't step aside. Trump won't step down. The court will be rightfully called into question as corrupt. It'll be a standoff. Political violence will flow. We'll lose democracy as we know it if that happens.

The question is will all 5 republican aligned supreme court justices side with the coup. That's where this will come to a head.

What states will Harris win that have Trump supporters in government?

Again you are worrying about the wrong things Donald Trump did this in 2020, the end result was a farce and a joke, don't waste time worrying about THE victory condition. The question will be what will be the punishment for the second coup attempt.
