2024 Presidential Election Thread - Let's keep the party going.

We're probably taking about 10,000 Trump voters over 50 states who voted for Trump twice but just aren't enthused to get off their couch next week who are going to say, "Hey, I didn't really want to vote for him this time, but supporting him in the past doesn't make my friends and I garbage! I guess I'll vote now. Good job, Brandon!"

We'll survive.

Credit to this dude for talking out loud and having a lightbulb moment, but JFC.

Not where I thought that was going. She didn’t even have the opportunity to ask him if Trump is emotional.

If Trump loses and MAGA splinters, I wonder if the Rs would consider encouraging Arnold to be the new face of the party.

No, he can’t even run for president

It was talked about a bit in the past. Dude was a Republican who won in California FFS.

But the issue was always that he could never be President.

Well, he's 77 years old now, so a run for the White House would be unlikely even if he were eligible.

What's the respectability of AtlasIntel? They're a "Select Pollster" with the NYT

Pretty sure the "Atlas" comes from "Atlas Shrugged." It's part of the Atlas Network, a libertarian think tank.

The "I'm scared shitless of my wife because she runs such a tight household, but women lack the temperament to lead" voter is quite the niche.

I still find the uproar over 2A absurd.

- Joe Biden didn't take your guns.

- Barack Obama didn't take your guns.

- Bill Clinton took a small subset of your guns and that policy expired.

I mean, come on, people.  Kamala Harris -- a proud gun owner -- is not gonna take your guns.

One question I've asked as a retort to this is "What part of the background check are you going to fail?"

Yeah, but that was a coup without the use of a Military, which was your initial point. Shit happens. If the Supreme Court could find a way to do it, they would. If a R congress could find a way to do it, they would. Mussolini was invited into the government in Italy as well.

Now THIS is a fucking own goal.

She didnt entirely remove the 2nd amendment issue with voters, becuase a fuck ton of voters flat out don't believe her. They're coming for their guns anyway, in their heads. They also believe she's a communist when they can't even define communism.

Not just a communist. She’s a communist, socialist, Marxist, Stalinist, fascist.

He's 77.

But just think of the messaging ops!

"Vote for me if you want to live."

"its not a rumor"

"i'm not into politics. i'm into survival."

"you've just been erased."

"you're luggage" (not sure how this one would work, but we're going to workshop it)

I’m in Arapahoe County. Crow’s district so we’re good there.

Politics now is not the same as 2003.

Sure. But California was still won by Gore and Kerry by wide margins. It was still an impressive feat, even for the time.

They are living in fantasy delusion thinking they will win both New Jersey and Virginia.

It's not delusion. They know they are going to lose. They are using these early voting numbers to point to after they lose and yell "see! This is where they stole it! It's impossible to lose the state after this!"

All to convince the idiots to riot for them again.

Someone like Haley--who has supported Trump in the past--but ultimately drifted away from him (for completely self-serving reasons, but still) at least have a small chance to redirect the GOP while not losing every MAGA supporter (just most). Arnold has been against Trump since Day 1 and hasn't wavered. Even "reasonable" Rs view him as a turncoat.

It’s actually quite the same. Republicans create a huge problem, the system breaks down and the Rs figure out a way to win an election off solving their fuckup. Really the one way they keep winning.

Yes, but one truth has clearly remained the same: we are fucking obsessed with celebrity.

Take with a large grain of salt:

There's not a chance in hell that actually happened. Even if every one of his staff was 100% convinced that PA was out, they wouldn't say a damn word to him about it.

She's totally voting for Kamala.

That's the smart play if she ever wants to run for POTUS again. Trump is liable to eliminate future elections and will simply pass the presidency down to his hand-chosen successor like other world strongmen. If Harris wins, Haley can try for the 2028 GOP nomination.
