From time to time a guy I went to HS with posts on Facebook, almost always with some kind of MAGA angle.  To say he's a dim bulb would be an insult to dim bulbs everywhere.  It's weird, I always liked his Dad, who was a brilliant biochemistry prof at my undergrad alma mater.  They were Episcopalians, a demonination that leans centrist to left, and his dad was a very kind and compassionate man.  His son is a jackass.

Here's an example from today, expressing his chagrin at the divisive language of Joe Biden:

Tell your friend that you're confused, because we all thought words didn't matter anymore. Maybe toss in a "fuck your feelings" too.

Oh, he's not my friend, on social media or in the real world.  For some reason I see some of his posts -- maybe there's a "friends of friends" setting on FB.

Pretty shrill and lame sophistry there. They're not accustomed to being challenged by competent opponents.

A woman using the sanctity of the voting booth to vote for Harris is immoral should she not share her intentions.

A woman using the sanctity of the doctor's office to decide on a medical procedure in privacy? Nah, we're against that sanctity.

Remember when one of their amateur operatives floated the idea that voting Dem would violate the holy sanctity of the women's bathroom? A woman has the right to wash her hands without being violated by someone of undetermined sexuality minding their own business and washing their hands nearby. We love that sanctity!

A woman's medical records regarding possible pregnancy? No sanctity for you!

All will stand in columns and rows and step as the noble goose.

I mean, this is no different than what both Jen O'Malley-Dillon and David Plouffe have said this week.  Both of them are projected extreme confidence as well for the Harris side.

So this is one thing I have meant to mention but keep forgetting. One of the things that has given me the most hope in Harris' campaign is she brought on Plouffe. He understands data better than anyone else at this level.

this poll indicates since some of the most enthusiastic voters for Harris (female college graduates under 30) are less likely to get sampled by Gallup.

Trump needs to project this air of confidence to bolster his fraud claims when he tries to steal the election through the House.

Sark should've been doing this the week before the Georgia game.

"I see that Vegas really likes the Longhorns, and the spread in our favor is truly tremendous, something like -28 for Texas, as the numbers we have are showing.  We should beat Georgia solidly, to be honest, unless the game is rigged, which in fact it may very well be.  I mean, Georgia fans are garbage, and there's just no way they can win in a fair contest on the football field."

I don't remember what his exact words were on PSA, but he had a little smirk talking about what they are seeing and that their internal polling intentionally overestimates Trump and they still like and are confident in what they are seeing in the battlegrounds.

O'Malley-Dillon was the one who went up after Election Day 2020 and pretty much said Biden was winning MI/PA/WI, they had already deduced he was barely going to win GA and she was the one who was right about Arizona all along. She implied NC is this year's GA.

Those two running this campaign give me supreme confidence.

Yeah, but we’ve seen her calendar for the final push. She’s not planning on making any speeches in Louisiana or Kentucky.  She’s still bunkered down in the swing states.  Playing to the whistle.  Trump is waiting for the game to end so he can file his protest with the conference officials.

the Bush campaign HQ was on the 3rd floor. There's a courtyard on the 4th St side where people would take smoke breaks, and I would occasionally talk to a guy from the campaign. I once asked him if the spanish commercials were different from the English commercials. He said "they're essentially the same, except the spanish one has a clown in it."

They both had a clown in them.

So in the "no one knows shit about fuck"

CNN's PA poll shows early voting breaking down 57-41, despite the current D/R/I splits

The new SP&R poll (Harris 48-47) shows EV breaking down 62-31

Those are huge differences.

PA Firewall update:

387k/390k (D/R)

458k/500k (D/R/I)

Fucking this.  It's the normalization that pisses me off.  There is a band of sane, but different, policy approaches.  See, e.g., Obama, Romney, McCain, GHWB, GWB, Clinton.  You may agree or disagree STRONGLY with some of those policies.  Some of those policies may actually be quite harmful.  But their foundation is one of actual....policy.

Trump and Trumpism is so far outside of those bounds as to be immeasurable.  The tone that any rational actor should take is "The Joker?  Are you fucking kidding?  He's an insane fucking criminal?  NO, just NO."

I I dunno. It had Harris up by like 16% in PA, or some outrageously high number? I'm totally cool if it ends up being 9%. Hell, even 7%.

It had her up in early voting, 57-41.  Which is absurd, because the current D/R gap is 23.9 points (56.5D, 32.6R, 10.9 indie).  It's basically giving him indies at a 95-5 split lol

As long as the methodology is sound then there's nothing wrong with it. It's just a really small sample and we know the early vote in PA is heavily Democratic. So not sure how many GOP people were surveyed - hence the large MOE.

her lead could be even larger or Trump could be ahead (very unlikely on the latter due to VBM splits.)

At any rate, I just don't trust it right now.  Like I said earlier - PA is the only state where Trump has any ground game (that wasn't outsourced to Elon) so a larger-than-expected margin for Harris would be a surprise.
