I had that conversation Wednesday or Thursday evening with Ms. Francisco.  She laughed when I told her the reason and said "why not".  Now, we have not eaten at a Chili's since she was expecting our first born 14 years ago, and she craved their chicken tortilla soup (and we ate there 1-2 times a week, especially during the third trimester).  We are both prepared to be let down with food quality, but are willing to make that sacrifice in the spirit of the festivities.

the enchilada soup is delicious!

Yeah thinking that Dobbs is old news is a huuuuuge mistake.  It's a bit lower profile, but it's now at the state phase and getting real.

I can't wait for some backlash in state elections, where the christofascism has been more subtle and effective.

I was afraid that the outrage would have faded.  I think what's actually happened, is that Dobbs has gone from theory into practice...These women have been impacted directly by this shit, or know somebody that has. Somebody's daughter or sister has had a miscarriage, their trusted, long-time OB/GYN has left the practice (or the state), etc.

It's probably a stronger incentive for them now then it was the day the decision came down.

Again, how fucking stupid is this guy? Does he really think Trump is going to let him ban any of this stuff?

Trump eats everything in that photo.

This seems like it shouldn't be happening in a properly functioning democracy, right?

Guessing whoever the building management for Potbelly and Peets got the memo late and they didn't have any good plywood left, that particle board crap won't stand up to much...

That's OSB, not particleboard.  It's solid.

Man, give us the real news. Is Chili's in DC staying open? It's fucking paramount that they do.

I keep forgetting about this. There is seriously a very good chance he goes to prison.

Kind of hard to believe that has not at all been a part of the campaign. For President of the United States.

Some people are saying he mimicked giving the mic a blow job due to unconscious muscle memory, as he's been practicing very hard about how to be a good inmate.

I recognize this - somewhere in W Va and the topic was the absurd and quite specific parking mandates for new restaurants. Olive Garden needed more than 100 spots.

so wait.

he hears "seeking asylum", regarding border trouble. from there he thinks "insane asylum", and from there he gets "hannibal lecter"?

ok.

Also,  he thinks the word "visa" means the government hands immigrants a credit card.

”Because that’s what Surly is doing.”

”We have to go to Chili’s because of Surly.”

“Yes.”

”If Surly jumped off a bridge..”

”Yes.”

more and more Stein voters are coming out saying they have buyers remorse after voting for her stupid ass. Her “VP” comments lately have been wild for a “progressive.”

Most farmers seem to be still in the Trump camp for cultural reasons.  Farmers in the western Midwest aren’t exactly clinging on like in the 80’s.  Many are fat and happy and just don’t seem concerned about the tariffs.  Likely because they assume there will be another bail out subsidy.

That said, my dad was talking to some old boys the other day who admitted they couldn’t keep voting for the lunatic.  They said they weren’t voting for Harris, but planned on just skipping the presidential vote.

Ive been wrapped up in harvest since mid September but what I’ve noticed is a bunch of displays of down ballot Republican candidates without any Trump stuff.

I went to Dubuque and back last month and was surprised by the amount of Harris/Walz stuff and relative lack of Trump stuff going across and back on 20 and 30. I’d also like to note there is a difference in attitude between livestock guys and grain guys because of the labor difference, and 2020 showed them what happens when kill capacity goes away because you can’t store a fat hog or ready steer.

Fuck yeah. Han Solo / Indiana Jones / Jack Ryan endorsing Kamala ... it's like three of the best possible endorsements ever, all rolled into one.

Folks used to say that about Hays. And Williamson, too, especially. Both voted Biden.

Yep, I posted just that, way back the thread - that I was blown away about WillCo, Hays, and Bastrop being blue on that map. Crazy. Good times.

lol.

Yeah, because everyone knows how much he trolls and how much shit he talks.  So, of course Puerto Ricans think he's just trolling them, while MAGA thinks it's some massive opportunity to re-visit "deplorables".

It's not 2016 any more, you stupid fucks.

I noticed that as well when driving through rural parts of Texas. In the past everything was decked out in huge Trump signs and banners. Now there are comparatively few, but lots of Ted Cruz and other local politicians.

Not sure what it means, really. I just found it puzzling.

I have not been inside a Chili’s in more than 20 years.  But, got damn, I believe I’ll be posting a victory photo from one on Wednesday!

I went yesterday for the first time in about that long.  Southwest egg rolls were as good as I remembered, Oldtimer was better than I was expecting.  Kind of steep price for regular grub, but worth it for the good vibes it brought with the Selzer poll.  Will do again when VP whoops the dotard's ass for real.
