Same with the Big Smasher. The sauce is great, but they put way too much on.  Just order it on the side and save some napkins and probably your shirt.

Co-sign. Tried to do my part. I went to Chilis today(because of this thread) for the first time since probably 1995. It was very underwhelming and too much goddamn mystery sauce. Not feeling very good since, but I usually eat lean meats and vegetables, so shock to the system.

The wife said to me this morning she wants to go essentially "air gapped" (my term, not hers) starting tomorrow and not see any news, social media, etc., until the end of the week.  She just can't take all of this anymore.

You sure she didn't say "airtight?" That's what she told me at least.

So am I the only one that thinks its possible Trump projects everything to the other side so when he says the Dems are rigging the election it is actually his team that figured out a way to rig it for him?  I can totally see him demanding that they make sure he wins all 50 states or some shit like that.  Something so implausible that it the riots come, it will be from the good guys when NY, CA, MA, etc… are suddenly red on election night.  I feel like a manic depressive as I swing back and forth from Harris in a blowout to Trump cheats and wins.  Can’t wait for this to be over.

Selzer, who acknowledged it was “hard for anybody to say they saw this coming,” said that “age and gender are the two most dynamic factors that are explaining these numbers.” In particular, per the results, voters 65 and older favor Harris — and women 65 and older favor her 63% to 28%.

i’m not sure how he can be underwater 35 points with older women and expect a return of 2016.

And I know that Wasserman has women six percentage points greater in election interest ( at least, rated as  9 or 10) than men, with men in 2024 having the lowest interest in the last five presidential elections.

Trump relies on motivated male voters as his bread and butter.   Lower male Trump voter enthusiasm combined with increased female Harris favorable voter enthusiasm seems kind of a good thing

I told my wife we are going on a hot date tomorrow. She asked where. Suffice to say, we are not going on a hot date tomorrow.

Chili's day is Wednesday, not tomorrow

Talking election with my 35ish year old Ethiopian immigrant limo driver. His sisters who all live in Atlanta are voting TrUmp, and he’s convinced his lifelong Democrat mom to switch over by getting her to listen to right wing podcasts. Interesting and sad to hear such a weird and unorthodox perspective.

they're lying to him. They watched that Julia Roberts ad

Just had an interesting conversation with wife.

Her: Hey Wednesday I need you to pick our son up

Me: ok but be home by 4 because I am going to Chili’s for some internet friends.

Her: You are meeting randoms from the internet at Chili’s

Me: No, we are all going to different ones. You’re making this sound weird.

Her : ea6cbc375056969705492bf19155eee2.gif

She looks like Doc Rivers?  Oof.

And even when Selzer was wrong with POTUS races (she called Iowa in 2004 for Kerry +3) Bush only won by 10K votes, or 0.7%.

At the end of the Bulwark interview with her (posted yesterday on this thread), she has a really good descripton for how that fact pattern evolved.  Her poll was not wrong as much it was "early".

I know Trump still has a small, passionate base but overall the energy levels of his supporters comes across as much lower than 2016 and 2020. The low energy crowd will still most likely vote for him but they seem to just want everything to be over.

I think plenty of the low-energy crowd will just pass tomorrow.  They will tell themselves their vote doesn’t matter and why waste time standing in line?

Oh, it's a possibility.  If she is just running the table and looks like she is going to get 350+, he (in theory, mind you) could concede in hopes of maybe getting a pardon from a President Harris down the road.

That's the only scenario that I could see him doing that.

Pardon Trump? Are y'all mental?

And now for Goblin News:

I strolled by my Gold Guy, asked him how the election could affect the election. His main beef was if it got tied up forever. But basically, if Trump wins, gold will go down. If Kamala wins, there'll be a line of customers out the door the next day and gold will go up. Gold Guy makes his cut either way so don't worry about him.

What a weird thing to ask. Although given Trump's attempts to thwart democracy before, I guess it is a legitimate question.

If we never posted another MTG tweet in this thread again, I wouldn't be upset about it.

Even if she gets syphilis from her trainer, chooses to treat it with a cold compress instead of antibiotics, and then dies the drippiest, cuntiest death ever?  Is that OK?

The first part of your scenario involves her having sex, which is not something I'm equipped to think about without wanting to vomit.

So no.

No, no, she would get it from a tractor seat, not sex.

I'll make an exception for this very specific (and highly likely) scenario.

Otherwise, let's spare each other.

I suspect this is why it was denied:

They also said Krasner’s bid to shut it down under Pennsylvania law was moot because there would be no more Pennsylvania winners before the program ends Tuesday.

That's a good mootness argument.  If the claim was based solely on Pa. law and actions occurring in Pa., and no further actions will occur, then there is no dispute going forward to resolve.  And that deprives the court of jurisdiction to act (courts only resolve actual disputes - and for injunctions, that dispute MUST be about a future harm).

It's a scam.  And anyone who signed the petition may have an independent claim against Musk for fraud or something similar.

Musk is a piece of dick.

It’s not the humble brag it sounds like. My boss is paying his limo service to drive me to and from cancer treatment in Houston. Stage 4 glioblastoma kinda sucks.

id normally be with you on the wishing Ill on him and his family, but he’s a super nice guy and seems a bit gullible and low information.

Ouch.  That's sad to hear.

MAGA Twitter is turning on Atlas Intel already.  Doing damage control 20 min before they drop.

I wonder if they drop some more "realistic" polls to save face - like tied/Harris +1 in the blue wall and tied/Trump +1 in the Sun Belt.
