On Tuesday I’m gonna be on a ship halfway between New Orleans and Belize.  if Harris wins, I’m drinking my daily prepaid alcohol limit by noon, and if Trump wins, I’m doing the same, but stopping by to see what is required for Belize residence.

I have a Tuesday am conference call with my Portuguese attorney - wasn't set up for election day specifically; she set it up and I'm sure there'll be non-Americans on it - but always nice to go over my options again.

The country has never seen such a gullible sack of shit. The most full sack in our history. With shit. People tell me all the time, Sir, where do you get your shit?
It’s the best shit we’ve ever seen. Just fill your pants and the people will love it

Separately, Chronically Ill and Disabled Americans for Progress PAC has, with the help of @amyhoy.bsky.social, raised $46k.

That money will be used for more targeted digital ad buys.

I'm currently building out a strategy that will maximize the impact of every single dollar.

What do I mean by building out a strategy to maximize the impact of every dollar?

Our testing experiment showed that the Home Care ad ⤵️ does well with rural conservatives. So with the contributions the PAC has gotten today, we'll run this in rural Georgia.

Our testing experiment showed that the "William & Donald - Disabled People Shouldn't Just Die" spot does well with 18-34 year olds. So with contributions the PAC has gotten today, we'll run this ⤵️ targeting 18 to 34 year olds.

There's more to the targeting. Please forgive me for not being able to discuss it publicly. e.g. If I tell you the counties I'm targeting, I'd be inviting counter-bids

Seth Meyers last night played a clip of Dotard on Rogan. Dotard was bragging about all the proof he had of the 2020 election being stolen. He said something like "Sometime later I'll show you all of it". Rogan said, obviously, "Are you ever going to present all of this evidence?"

Dotard looked like he'd been punched in the face. "Ummm.... well, you know, um....? But anyway...." Because, of course, anyone with actual proof of that MIGHT SHARE IT ON THE MOST POPULAR PODCAST IN THE WORLD, TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE ELECTION.

New government changed the rules, although there may be some new programs I'd be very interested in should they come up. Real estate no longer counts. May just end up retiring and doing the D7 visa instead and not worrying about the investment strategies.

There's a house just outside of Tavira I really want to have a look at... need to get back there again.

I think I remember reading where if you had certain assets and came in and started a business and employed so many (?) citizens of Portugal, that was the new easy entree.

I was listening to MSNBC on the ride home and they were talking with a Puerto Rican gentleman from Pennsylvania who is part of the get out the vote against Trump group. He revealed that he was now in Orlando, where there are 500,000 Puerto Ricans in Central Florida and 1 million in the state.   He said, “ the wounds from hurricane Maria and Trump’s response had not fully healed and now he pulled off a scab. Everyone is bleeding again, and Trump’s refusal to distance himself from the comments is bringing back every negative thought about Trump that everyone already had. “

He also said, “The one thing Puerto Ricans agree on is that the island and the flag are a part of our soul. You cannot attack either and expect us to let that go. It’s like attacking our mother.  He does not understand that - but we do.”

he is trying to organize Puerto Ricans in large populations in battleground states - or even states like Florida with huge Puerto Rican populations - To come together to vote against Trump.

It might not be enough to turn Florida blue for sure, but it may be enough in tight races in battleground states to do some real damage to Trump’s chances

Rosie Perez was also there.  60 years old.  Not bad:

Yes, that's one of the paths. You have to prove concept, yadda yadda, but it's fairly straightforward, as is just investing in Portuguese funds/securities (not a huge value play, to say the least).

Hopefully none of this gets pushed to the front burner Tuesday evening (I don't think it will, but I live in super blue land).

Nicolle Wallace played earlier a series of clips of Trump calling democrats "vile, disgusting, evil, vermin", etc.

This double standard where one party gets to say whatever they want at any time, and the other is playing by the rules like it's still 1988.... Not sure I can take another cycle of it without losing my fucking mind.

Anyone have a link to this, by any chance?

I have a lunch meeting with a sales rep and 2 sales engineers on Wednesday.  I genuinely have no idea how this will go, other than they want our business, so I suspect they will behave normally no matter what happens Tuesday.

I'm working Wednesday and figure everyone else is taking off or phoning it in as long as the election isn't called, so I'm not burning the vacation.

Trump and Biden are the silent generation. They are not boomers.

Biden is a late silent, Trump is a very early boomer. Harris/Walz are technically very late boomers but you could argue culturally more Gen X.

In Japan for vacation currently and had my first convo with a local about the election. Talk about a small world, this gentleman’s son studied in Wisconsin and now lives/work in Houston. I told him I’m nervous about the upcoming election and he shared my sentiment of bewilderment about how it’s even possibly a close election.

Will still be abroad past Nov 5… 😅

Ok, clearly everyone else knows what you do for a living, but for the rest of us... what?

Are you a shrimper or a smuggler?

So, I have a client who recently passed away and his wife and daughter are trying to license some of his patents to an Austrian manufacturer.

They have a family friend that is a lawyer cum real estate investor that is kind of leading the charge with one of his German business associates.

He said today on a conference call, "let's hope Trump wins, they're afraid of Trump and his tariffs blah blah blah."

I could feel the eye rolls from some of the people on the call.  It sounded so stupid, regardless of your political affinities.

Guys in his late 60s and real-estatey, but really ought to know better.
