Also old people not being heavy Trump leans is gonna throw a surprise state or 2 to Harris.

Yeah the most surprising thing about that Selzer poll is the seniors breaking for Kamala. They know what's up.

I suppose this makes Iowa the most likely non-swing state for Harris to pick up?

Probably? Maybe?

Also whether it’s true or not, no reason for Kamala to have gone to Iowa. It’s so far from a tipping point state in 2024.

But could this be her version of 2008 Indiana/NC?

Nice, the Navy 44s. Built so tough when they hit a concrete pier, the pier breaks.

I've sailed them a couple times for Lloyd Phoenix

I haven't talked about it on this thread but I am beyond proud that both of my daughters have the opportunity to vote for not only the first woman to be president*, but also the woman whose election saves the American experiment in a moment of grave peril.

Seeing my daughter watch Kamala get sworn in would be an incredible moment as a parent. And it happens on MLK Day this time around, making it extra fantastic, for all of the reasons you can imagine.

If there really is a God, I sure hope God was holding off on Trump's eventual death just so he would have to be alive to watch her get sworn in.

I don’t want to hope but those are 2 for 1 votes so they really hurt Trump.

700k goes away real quick like that, real quick.

If Iowa goes Harris, don’t be shocked if NE-1 and NE-2 go blue

NE-02 is going blue by 8+ points already

Some sort of race.  The CGA ran away with it.  I yelled “Go Coast Guard, Go Maine” as we cruised by after the finish, which got me a few fist pumps from the boat and my host admonished me for talking to a competitor boat.

Like I said: I didn’t eat shit through 4 Maine winters to not give some love to any school from Vacationland.

Except Colby. Fuck those guys.

To add to my previous post it will be annoying if a chunk of seniors finally turn on Trump just because of their personal financial interests (SS and Medicare) but I'll take it. I really appreciated the old Iowa guy quoted as saying that J6 was why he'll never vote for Trump and will actually vote for a Democrat to keep him out of office. At least that's a principle but not only self-interested reason.

I agree but this election, whatever reason they need to use to vote Dem is fine.

My 93 year old father hated Trump after 2020. He’s a die hard Regan republican. He wasn’t going to vote, which was a win as far as I was concerned. The SS and Medicare and treatment of veterans (he is one) made him vote for Harris while still complaining about how bad Democrats are. I just let him talk. I think there are a whole lot of olds that want that SS money.

If we know this today, the campaign has known this for about a week. Explains a lot.

Probably. But she knows better than to even entertain going to Iowa. Keep the focus on the Big 7 and if an Iowa or Ohio or TX or FL or Alaska surprisingly falls your way, great!
