Unrelated tangent, my wife just said something rather profound, and not at all related to the election, but it sort of struck a cord:

"Why is your gender so god damn ignorant?!"

In the unlikely event you couldn't tell, I'd done something I wasn't supposed to.  However, I do think it's applicable here.

Was at an event with the wife today. Groups of girls: organized, respectful, cooperative, happy, positive and supportive.

Boys: disruptive, rude, breaking shit, shit talking eachother, unsupportive, wild swings between joy and rage.  vindictive.

Family values and protecting our children, supposedly conservative values:

My 7-year-old loves learning about presidents. He can tell you info about most presidents — their party, when they were elected, who they beat, something interesting about their presidency, etc. He wanted to watch the debate and I had to tell him that it wasn’t appropriate for children since that guy would likely say terrible things — which he did. Anything involving the former president should be rated NC-17.

Not sure where you’re from but I recommend you taking your kid to the Truman presidential library. It’s in the kansas city area in Independence. It’s amazing.

I spent 4 hours there and only made it about halfway through.

I just ate the last piece of Halloween candy, somehow I was supposed to know to save that one.  I'm in time out.

The Trump campaign on Saturday bashed a new Iowa poll showing former President Donald Trump is no longer leading in the state, which he won in 2016 and 2020.

“Every cycle, there’s one idiotic survey,” Trump campaign senior adviser Jason Miller told reporters in Greensboro in response to a question from CNN.

To the surprise of no one at all, his team is already spinning this like mad. Never mind the historical accuracy of the "idiotic survey" in question.

Does this translate to taking the House and keeping / improving in the Senate?? Harris needs both to really do work.

Dems should be favored in the House. Senate is much more complicated. But this poll should be a warning sign to a few GOP senators or challengers

I think Elon fucked this up for Trump the way Showgirls fucked up Elizabeth Berkeley’s acting career.

Everything Elmo touches turns to shit.  He sank Meatball Ron's campaign with his big reveal.  Dotard's campaign really started to hit the skids after his Sylvester the Cat podcast with Elmo on xitter.  Elmo finished him off with his attempted vote buying scheme and general weirdoness at dotard rallies.

If you make it to Independence it’s not that far to Eisenhowers in Abilene Kansas too

Has someone started a thread over yonder in that other forum aggregating all the Aubrey Plaza gifs? For research purposes?

Because they’ve become too hard for me to keep up with here.

Already a lot of “Not sure whether to believe this, her methodology doesn’t work in a low response era” as if she didn’t nail 2020 and 2022.

Oh I missed that post from Sushi.

Old women remember having to have a man sign for their banking account as recently as 1974.  Fucking crazy.  They may not be totally pro choice, but they remember being 100% chattel.

Imagine more than a few of them just want to live to see a woman president.

I think it's pretty damn clear that wives are going against their Trumpy husbands in droves.

You know, if that Iowa poll is real, it’s going to be hilarious when all these dipshits realize they lost getting cuckolded at the ballot box.

My wife’s version, when she’s particularly torqued off, is:

”Heterosexuality is a curse on woman.”

My wife has told me more than once that a lot of men don’t actually like women. They like what women do for them and nothing more.

I do remember back when I was dating, men would tell me shit about how nuts women are. And sure some of them did some crazy stuff, but dating makes all of us nuts.

But I usually answered back "Yeah but you see the crazy shit we do? I would prefer to date them than us."

It's probably more like "Amy Coney Barrett siding with Alito" is the little domino, but it's funnier as "Joe Rogan recommends Tony Hinchcliff to the Trump team"

Hold on, is Swam somehow associated with polling?

If so, I didn't know that, probably because I didn't care.

Not exactly.  He used to come here during the Obama days, and "unskew" the polls and tell us how McCain/Romney was sure to win.

I’ve got a friend in divorce because she just can suffer stupid anymore and she wishes women would do it for her. She then sighs and says something about how much she loves dick.

I don’t know whether to think that’s plausible or implausible. But let’s say it’s only half as big. Still a good poll for her.

My guess is #3 of these:

This is certainly not the first poll to show Harris doing very well with college educated voters. Not sure if GEM’s complaint is the weighting or the margin. But this is a demo Dems have done better and better with. Dems overall won that demo +10 in 2020

I think the extended version of my wife’s line is:

If I didn’t like duck, I would have gone to Smith and ditched y’all decades ago.

Meg is way overthinking stuff.

They've been explicit about owning rights to a woman's body and mind, particularly white women, so I don't know what would surprise you.
