I have not been inside a Chili’s in more than 20 years. But, got damn, I believe I’ll be posting a victory photo from one on Wednesday!

The Harris campaign has finally decided to turn its attention to getting my 40 year old suburban, registered independent, white guy vote. My targeted messaging before a week ago was probably 90-10 Trump. For the last week or so it’s like 70-30 Harris. And I just had a pair of canvassers come to my door to somewhat apprehensively ask if I planned on voting. Their demeanor changed significantly when I told them I how enthusiastic I am about voting straight ticket democrat on Tuesday.

Where you at?

Also not a surprise. The last week has been a push for the margins, bc they’ve turned out or contacted all of their base or groups favorable to them.

Listen, I hate Trump like anyone else with half a brain.

That said, if he promises an ability to opt out of political commercials after I put in my vote, I would reconsider.

I keep forgetting about this. There is seriously a very good chance he goes to prison.

Kind of hard to believe that has not at all been a part of the campaign. For President of the United States.

Yeah, my boss who is an awesome, badass bitch (in the best possible way), wears some wild, hippie-esque clothing in the office and generally celebrates the Keep Austin Weird-vibe broke my heart on Friday. We were both WFH and on the Teams call I noticed in the corner of her desk she had a shiny new Trump 2024 Yeti. Her husband's high up in construction so I guess I shouldn't be that surprised, but they also have a daughter who's a HS senior and for the life of me I just can understand that disconnect.

I work for a construction company. Most of the local leadership is anti-Trump. Little comments here and there so as to not piss other people off. But we know who we are.

OTOH, the subcontractors I’ve talked to in the past few months are VERY pro-Orange shitstain. They think interest rates will magically go down if he’s elected. Never mind the economic realities of the past 4 years that affected monetary and fiscal policy.

Do they still make the chicken sandwich with bacon at Chili's? I used to eat that on the regular in college. That and some skillet queso on Wednesday would be lovely.

Yeah I ate at the recently opened Four Points location (walked over from Discount tire)and got a massive case of food poisoning.  From a salet.

That location shut down

Hard pass.

Somewhat related, my wife asked me how I was getting updates so quick last night. I told I'd prefer not to answer that question

She doesn’t post here anymore but she’s an asshole just like the rest of us. I love her.

And she apparently loves me, too.

I deal with a lot of subs as well and am genuinely shocked how many think Trump is a genius.  And that he would pay them.

I too read it as their internal numbers are good enough they chase less likely votes.

That’s a group that absolutely baffles me. It has been well known for decades that Trump lived to fuck those people over.

It was a week ago. Bennigans and then chilis got brought up post montecristo. Now we are all going to chilis because Bennigans doesn't exist.

If y'all really wanted to do it right, you would find a place where you can do a pub-crawl style tour of Chili's, TGIFridays, Cheddars, Fuddruckers, Applebees, Red Lobster, Outback, and Texas Roadhouse....

I'm sure there is a small-medium sized city in Texas or Oklahoma where most of those are in the same strip mall.

He's closing in on an epiphany of self awareness.  That's not usually a great time for malignant narcissists and the people tied to them.

Chili’s lovefest started in 10/24 and has been gloriously kept alive since then.  Kamala’s momentum shift started soon afterwards, so I think we played a part in this, boys.

I'm willing to down several chicken Big Macs if it secures a Harris win* on Tuesday.

* She's winning anyway, have felt and said trump was never winning back even when Biden was still in it.

All good.  If they are anything like the subs I deal with, they won’t show up to vote until November 15th

Yeah the most surprising thing about that Selzer poll is the seniors breaking for Kamala. They know what's up.

Yep. Seniors are much more likely to have seen this movie before, and they know it doesn't end well if people don't stand up and do what's right.

But Wednesday post-election celebratory Chili's was MY idea. If you think I'm too proud to shamelessly claim credit for that, you haven't been paying attention to my posting history.

This place is going to be lit up with more food pictures than your Aunt Cheryl's Facebook after a trip to Paris.

I'm a bit concerned about you, tbh.  You used the word quality positively in the same sentence as Chili's and Applebees.

Apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Jr: We need Republican like dog catchers because who knows what they're going to do with those dogs. We've been seeing the videos, I don't know. They’re like.. how dare you say that was a dog? Like it's a dog, it's a cat. It's something with four legs and really small. I can tell you what it's not, it's not a rib eye, it's not something any of you have ever barbecued before. I can assure you that.
