The women over 65 that got their rights in their lifetime aren’t going to let their daughters, granddaughters, and great granddaughters go back.

It's not just abortion.  Those women remember when they couldn't get a credit card because they were women.

I will stop wishing death upon the ex who lives in Las Vegas if Nevada comes through for Harris.

No you won’t. And that’s okay

Yeah, as long as Harris wins North Carolina by at least two votes, I’’ll still wish my ex was a flood statistic.

We've been following the Kansas playbook, just a decade after the fact.  Kansas is the most similar state to Iowa, IMO, so I find that kind of humorous in the "laughing because I have no other choice" sort of way.

And can confirm on OK.  My cousin's wife is a teacher in Tulsa, and she's ready to burn everything down.

How does one go about sussing out the differences between Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, and Indiana?

The one thing I think people forget about Iowa is it has always had a bit of a different culture to the rest of the area. They had the whole prairie socialism thing and have had an independent streak. Overall conservative, but unique in some ways.

Texas Dems were a unique blend of non-bleeding heart liberalism and non-punative conservatism.

When this place was different there was, I believe from my suburban white boy perspective, a sense that you should be handling your own business and leaving me alone. But, if someone was in real bind, hands would be happily extended. Well, between white people for the most part, I suppose.

We're just a couple of decades from completely transitioning to Anywhere USA NAZI Germany.

I am grateful that Selzer’s poll has afforded me enough hopium to not feel stressed since its release. I figure the worst case outcome will suck just as bad; at least there are a few days without gloom and doom.

I was proud our youngest went with us to cast her first vote, and that the oldest drove to San Marcos, from San Antonio, to vote in her second presidential election.

I need to be more mindful of wearing the Harris/Walz cap. Got my blood drawn today, and either I unlucked into the world’s shittiest phlebotomist, or the hat pissed her off.

Well they call them Runza's in Nebraska, and Bierocks in Kansas. Iowa has bullshit speed limits, while Nebraska and Kansas are much more reasonable. Nebraska has better gravel roads, but shitty black tops, while Kansas is the opposite. Nebraska and Iowa are much harder drinkers in aggregate.

I only recently learned that women couldn't get a bank account without a man co-signing until like the 1980s.  That is fucking insane.

They blame the 8 democrats in the state legislature, or the federal government when a democrat is president. Stupid fucking morons.

Or center-right leaning OSSC Justices who aren’t 100% in line with PragerU and Trump Bibles creating education curriculums.

If Florida goes for Harris, then I'll ask the football gods for only a three-touchdown win over the Gators on Saturday.  It's the least Sark could do.

Iowa is the only one of those states I've sampled the strip clubs in.

Back in the 90s I was in Indiana for work, and learned the hard way that there are two time zones there. "Where the hell are you?? You were supposed to be here at 9."

Me: "But it's only 8:30." Nope.

The guy who cuts my hair is a post Vietnam war immigrant, and the only thing he has latched onto politically in the decades  he’s lived here is that the GOP is anti-communist and the Democrats are communist.    When asked about the GOP and Russia, he looked me right in the eye and said “Russia is no longer communist.”

His journey to the GOP took no more effort than calling Democrats the “C” word because they did not support the war in Vietnam. And like many Vietnamese, he is a stauch Catholic, and totally onboard the one issue abortion train.

I remember Schwarzenegger giving a speech at the RNC basically saying he became a Republican because of his experiences in Soviet occupied Austria. I've known some Cubans that saw being Republican as simply anti-communist as well.

Here's an old article about Schwarzenegger's speech. It's crazy because he was appealing to immigrants at the RNC. Now days the speech would be "go back to your shit hole countries and trash islands."

Final Sabato Crystal Ball -

276 Harris (MI, PA, WI, NV)
262 Trump (GA, NC, AZ)

276-262 was what the models were coalescing towards about 2 weeks ago.

I feel like all these type of things will be close so they can say they were close it was just X that caused the model to be wrong or some stupid shit like that.

I mean, I don’t think it will be a blowout either. I’m not sure what is getting everyone (not just here) so positive that this will be a Harris blowout.

We had a bye last week.  Quin had another week to heal up and get his head straight.  This is just how we're wired.

Not saying it will happen, but if Harris overperforms tomorrow then the "canary in the coal mine" was Marylin Lands.

Remember her?

Internal polls for both candidates showed a close race.

It ended up being a 25-point blowout in a fairly red district.
