2024 Presidential Election Thread - Let's keep the party going.

It was a woefully incapacitated candidate that happens to be our current president. What I saw was not a cold.

He has no verbal skills anymore. I have no doubt he’s still with it, but he can’t communicate. Which is a problem.

Yes but two of those were right. The thing affluent white progressives don’t seem to care about is the fact that while winning is not the only thing that matters, it is the only thing that’s required. If you don’t win you ain’t shit.

No one said it was. My only point was that you were throwing around the word dementia and that’s not his issue.

Who are you talking about?

Everyone that votes for Trump and makes the argument. If that includes you then you too. Every last fucking one of you.

Trump should drop out as he is a fucking traitor. Why are Dems held to a different standard? It's ridiculous.

Because Democrats are the normalcy alternative. Of course the standard is different.

That is what I was getting at, whether or not you think I’m maga. I’ve never been and as I said in another thread, wouldn’t vote for him if I had full blown aids and he had the cure for a vote. And, I never voted for him in the past.

I do not dislike Biden. Not my favorite, but he’s a terrible current candidate in the current landscape. And that concerns me greatly, because he’s got little shot of winning.

It’s upsetting Dems aren’t more ruthless. The electorate is being held hostage by both parties. Dems have a much more understandable position.

They are plenty ruthless. Unfortunately they are also dorks and losers who treat winning elections as a subordinate outcome to being superior in any number of ways.

Remember the Wendy Davis filibuster? There was an effort to make a movie about it. Democratic consultants and donors etc felt that was an inspiring story, and tried to make it happen.
The reason why it didn’t happen was that the Hollywood people couldn’t figure out how losing a vote on the same bill three weeks later and then losing the gubernatorial race that followed in a landslide was inspiring. Later someone who was tangentially involved in the effort said that the movie people had “internalized a right wing narrative.”

@Brisketexan will likely remember that I said in 2019 or so that the model for the national Democratic Party was the Texas Democratic Party. My opinion hasn’t changed: when a party organizes people and process to do anything other than winning, what happens is losing. It’s not complicated.

Lmfao you think that "rex is wrong" is equally likely to the cowbs winning for the first time in a generation?

Not at all trolling. I surmise you think that because of our Israel differences.

Actually Biden winning would be less of a surprise than a non-Jimmy (or Parcells) Boys team winning in the Jerry era. Was just trying to make a point that most here feel in a dreadfully strong way.

Respectfully, you’re wrong. I’m ardently anti-maga. I actually got into a fight with my younger more liberal brother on the topic last weekend.

The most compelling arguments are the untested nature of other candidates and the campaign apparatus for Biden vs a newly elevated candidate. I agree with her the movie version makes sense but in the real world of politics it’s too late, Biden had to decline the nomination before the primary.

I’m not wrong I didn’t say what you were one way or the other. I’m unfamiliar with your posts. So I said if. Others I am familiar with so I know. I made the statement because pundits posters and others who are magats have also been saying Biden should step down. Fuck any magat who says that. Trump is the one that should be forced to step down. If you agree great. Either way go argue with someone else. You say you aren’t a trumper fine.

She’s probably right. And smart candidates like a Newsome or Whitmer know that and would probably be unwilling. They’ve gotta have a full year prior to November at a minimum to gear up in many aspects.

Speaking of dorks and losers, have you checked out the GOP roll call lately?

It fine, I’m really fucking pissed about this election and the systemic legitimization of a convicted felon, still awaiting 3 more trials? A rapist, civilly liable fraudster, twice impeached, insurrectionist, and pathological liar. How ever fucking newspaper and magazine and news show isn’t repeating this over and over is beyond me. If he’s not even going to try and tell the truth then he should be forcibly run off the debate stage. Fuck each and every magat.

I want to make a yard sign or bumper sticker but it’s too long 😕

If you are voting for the candidate who is a convicted felon, found civilly liable for fraud, rapist, insurrectionist, twice impeached, still awaiting three more criminal trials, and a pathological liar then YOU are the problem.

Biden has done a really good job and mostly restored America’s place in the world. But he simply can’t run this time. If he wins, he would be 86 years old at the end of the term. There is no possible way an 86 year old can do the duties he is required. This is just the nature of the human condition.

Not one of here would want an 80+ year old boss. And Harris isn’t the answer. 99% of America (and the world) couldn’t pick her out of a lineup.

The fate of democracy is at stake. I hope Joe will do the right thing…

My grandfather built an addition to his house out of brick at 85.

My father just built an addition to his house at 81.

Not saying that's somehow presidential, but for fuck's sake,  Biden isn't the only motherfucker running this shit,  not by a Longshot.

Perfect summation

“Republicans have no principles and Democrats have no spine. At the first sign of adversity, the Democrats want to replace the incumbent President.”

Democrats are the biggest pussies.

It's a little more complicated than that. Losing in 2024 isn't an option, and we all saw what Thursday night looked like.

It’s not the debate per se. it’s how Biden looked. He needs to be out in public, frequently, looking the way he looked in NC. And personally attacking Trump repeatedly. Hammer home the rapist, lying, pornstar fucking, fraud committing, felon narrative

And fuck the American people for allowing the candidates decide how they will be questioned.

We are the biggest bunch of soft serve pussies.

One guy won't agree to a debate unless he's not allowed to be fact checked fpr lying by the moderator, and one guy won't debate unless the turn the other's guy's mic off because he can't handle being talked over. We love letting people fuck us in the ass.

THEY won't agree. Fuck them. This is how you debate, and if you YOU don't fucking like it, then YOU can't be President. Jesus Christ.
