It should have given him enough of a boost for the next few months, but now the shooting is overshadowed by a hillbilly Yale grad fucking a couch while reading dolphin porn.

Reading dolphin porn? READING?!?

That sick fuck.

All they need to understand is that their balances have and are rising.

A lot of them can't even figure out how to log in to the provider's website to do that.

More than half of American families/households have a retirement plan like a 401k. Percentage goes up to 61% when you include other plans outside 401k.

Yea but most of them don't have much of anything in them.

Nothing to see here. Definitely NOT trying to establish a dictatorial police state. Libs are overreacting/spewing violent rhetoric.

That's how I read his prior threats to McCain and Zuckerberg.  He's not saying I'll go after you for not helping me before, he's dog whistling he'll go after them if they don't help him or interfere with him now.  This is just more coup shit.  All of this should be being investigated, but Hillary's emails.

The way social media was pushing for Beshear for VP, it’s now double that for Walz

I posted social media is going to will Andy Beshear the VP slot and if I could find that post, I’d change it to Walz. He’s liked by pretty much everyone.

He’s one of those Down home, folksy, can talk to those in Philly or Scranton, Dallas or Dalhart type candidates

It’s frightening how fast shit is moving with online activism and engagement.  A week ago no one knew who Walz was and Joe Biden was still running for a second term. I love the enthusiasm and all but after a week of a few media spots, the online consensus is to make this little known Governor from Minnesota one heartbeat away from the presidency.

Maybe it’s a fever because things were looking so dark 180 hours ago, maybe it’s for the best, maybe it’s democracy…

Links to Patron or Substack? I met a sexy ass Dolphin at Froggies in POC (to keep it Forum relevant) over a few slabs of ladyfish and a Millers Light - it was a magical encounter that needs re-telling for the right price.

He's an older white male with a fully functioning brain and little risk of dementia.  Sold upgrade if True.  Bonus he has empathy and doesn't hate our country.

Was that Dolphin chain-smoking, leather-skinned, and wearing white shrimpers boots? Cuz I think I met that same “dolphin” there.

Ok, but now take into account how few of those 60+% understand investing at all.  I have spent my entire career in the retirement industry and it is shocking how many people don't understand the basics.

I thought you spent your entire career retired.

How much 401k money never gets claimed?

Surprisingly, not much as a percentage.  People tend to take their money when they quit or retire.   Most provider's do a pretty good job of ensuring there are beneficiaries on the accounts in case someone dies.

And yes, there are still shit ton of boomers that want an actual paper quarterly statement.

Exactly. MAGAs are largely financing boats and 5th wheels at 9% APR and then bitching about the cost of groceries.

Saying that 46% of American households own stock is the glass half-full version of the story.

Here is the other version:

  • The wealthiest 10% of Americans own 93% of the stock
  • The bottom 50% held just 1% of the stock.

That's not a recipe for people earning the median income thinking that their gains in the market are offsetting the price of purchased goods, cost of college, etc....

to be fair, it's not easy to understand. I remember being very pissed when I realized that if I just saved money the "straightforward" way, in a savings account, I would actually be losing over my lifetime. It feels like I'm being forced to play a game I really don't want to. A full 1/4 to 1/3 of my free time now is spent on becoming financially literate.

I’ve never been a “stan” for a politician in my life. I’m 💯 a Tim Walz-stan.

This seems excessive (for the average American) when avoiding high interest debt and buying VOO in tax advantaged accounts will get you 80% of the way there. Good on you for doing the work though

Oh, I absolutely was one of them. I just think it’s a giant tell that their absence from this forum has nothing to do with the posters in here being too “mean” and is actually due to a lack of confidence in their side.

and @immamac made them their own safe space and everything!

401ks are overwhelmingly set and forget accounts that 99%of people can’t even tell you their stock ticker for. The expectation for people to be able to explain it is something that “individual freedom, liberty, and responsibility” all cover.

Telling Dems to quit cheerleading the stock market is absolutely stupid and is a handicap that supporters put on their own selves when Republicans would never think about it.

2 years ago, this sentence might as well could have been Spanish to me. If you've lived this life and speak this lingo, you take for granted how simple that setup seems, when it's not. You're taking for granted, at minimum, an understanding of stocks vs bonds, let's not talk of index vs active funds, mutual funds vs ETFs, the tax liabilities of brokerage account vs a retirement/advantaged account... before something like "VOO in tax advantaged accounts" reads as easy as it types.

8 days ago, all anybody could talk about was Trump being shot and how this was going to win him the election.

Since that time, we've had the Harris news and a never-trumpet VP candidate that fucks couches and reads or writes dolphin porn or some shit, and people have moved on from the shooting.

If things are moving that fast, we are liable to end this week with Dwayne Johnson being the potential VP for Harris, and Trump having ditched Vance and bringing in Silk from Diamond & Silk as his VP pick.  or Tucker.

I hope someday we find out exactly what Trump had on Graham.  He's pushing 70 and his next election is in 2026.  Trump has to have something spectacular to make him this miserable without flipping on Trump.
