what if ticket juking becomes the wave of the future.  with hillary et al, you have decades of messaging making people hate you.  can't overcome that.  harris/walz, nobody knows until a few months out.  media saturation of national campaign dollars is able to define you in the short time span, can't counterprogram that in the same time frame.  sort of a plaintiff advantage in litigation of defining the case that is lost when you stretch things over a year.

If anything, if Harris/Walz wins, can we PLEASE start seriously exploring how to condense our presidential primaries into 8 month affairs.  RNC/DNC in August.  5 primaries (10 states each) in March, April, May, June, July.

Uh, that's because Joe Biden is going to CRASH the DNC and TAKE BACK HIS NOMINATION! All so he can debate Trump again.  Everyone is saying it.

Seems like JV should be the one worried about being replaced.

My favorite part of this, a 60k necklace that Vance lists as "costing more than 2 months salary."

Completely fucking out of touch with most Americans.

Sure the necklace is an expensive luxury item. But maybe it was gifted to her by a weird little YouTuber who sniffs Andrew Tate’s chair cushions.

Still better than what JD Vance would do to them

Meaning Trump's too big of a pussy to debate Kamala and Vance is too big of a pussy to debate Walz. It's also them trying to delegitimize the Democratic nominee.

JV actually tried to confront Kamala at her plane in Wisconsin? WTF?

He claims he wanted to look at his "new plane that he'll have after the election", weird.

Sorry, JV, you don't get to debate the Presidential candidate.  Stay in your lane.

Mike Pence was an experienced talk radio guy before he got into politics. Head and shoulders over Vance

He also was in the House for 10 years and served as Governor of Indiana

Vance has a whopping 1.5 years in the Senate and underperformed big time in 2022.

They've actually been saying that Obama will take the nomination away.

They really are a special kind of regarded.

Yep. They’re going to start howling on Election Night and will try all kinds of fuckery trying to steal it after-the-fact. I’m sure the hope is that it will come down to one or two battleground states that might be close enough to flip on a technicality or court ruling, or somehow have it thrown into the House for a vote there.

James Carvel said that to win this thing we need to be six or seven points ahead to eliminate the Fuckery

Just repeating the current right wing meme attempts constantly, while complaining about welfare recipients and illegal immigrants. (all while ignoring that we work in ag) along wringing their hands about people not respecting white guys and the social hierarchy.

Split Ticket did a Rust Belt only poll in the Blue Wall before Biden dropped out and after

https://split-ticket.org/2024/08/07/we-polled-the-rust-belt-heres-what-we-found/

July 18-23 (90% of responses before Biden dropped out) - H2H: Biden -4, Harris -5; 6 Way Race: Biden -6, Harris -7
July 29 - August 2 - H2H: Harris +1; 6 Way Race - Harris +1

Quote

This improvement is not actually concentrated among younger or non-white voters, as some had speculated. In fact, Harris’ gains with whites are significantly more pronounced than any pro-Democratic shift she sees with nonwhites, even though her vote share rises with both groups.

You can go see all the data

or we could just shorten the election season to, say, September-November like a lot of other civilized countries do and end this tireless cycle of campaigning. but nah, that's probably unconstitutional for a reason.

I still like my idea.  5 month primary (one regional primary per month with 10 states + territories), August conventions, September-Oct heavy campaigning and November election.
