The metaphor of how some American Muslims are saying they'll vote for Trump over the Gaza issue is pretty damned solid the metaphor of a suicide vest: if you don't give us everything we want, we'll destroy everything, including ourselves.

It's fucking morally indefensible.  "I don't like what's happening in Gaza, so I'm going to inflict pain on everyone else, including American muslims, unless we get everything we want."  Fuck that, and fuck them.

I imagine those Muslims who are U.S. citizens feel secure, which I sort of understand. Still, I'd hate to have to prove up my citizenship in the face of a motivated and vengeful administration.

This.

Trump said we should lock up the media.

He said any former president criticizing a presidential candidate should be imprisoned.

He has promised to deport people who are in this country legally.

He called the opposing candidate a retard.

He has lied about FEMA coming to take your house.

None of those things are hyperbole -- they are things he has actually said just in recent days.  Every single one should be run as a headline of "Trump makes shameful statement calling for imprisoning of people who criticize him - not presidential material."  Yes, you fucking editorialize on the front fucking page, because this is EXACTLY the kind of situation that calls for it.

Just one of those comments would sink Kamala--and Trump gets a free pass.  Kamala, show us your plans and we and Trump will tell you why they won't work, you socialist retard.  Trumps plan, elect me and you'll see, after publicly spouting fascist goals.

Democrats are in full "we're totally going to lose" mode. The media is so down.

The media feeds it.  It's the only story with teeth, since Trump is a known rabid commodity and his followers don't care or have a conscience.

Yeah, nobody would ever deploy the US government to deport thousands upon thousands of US citizens just because they belonged to the wrong ethnic group.

I forget. Did U.S. citizens actually get deported or were they threatened with deportation failing to prove citizenship? (not that that's any better)

So, the sign on the front ... is that a reference to the My Pillow guy? I wouldn't rule out the idea of it being anti-Trumpers stirring the shit, but the fact that it's even believable at all at this point is striking, with the campaign being fed talking points from Ohio Nazis, calling for mass deportations of brown & black people, etc.

Yes. The Pillow guy has been selling all his shit with .88 cents, and 88 is a well known code for Nazi-ism. the 8th letter of hte alphabet is H, so  88 is HH, or Heil Hitler.

Actual US citizens (brown people who were naturalized, mostly) were actually deported.  Other brown people had to meet a quick and threatening burden of proof -- if you were brown in an area where the authorities were conducting a round-up, you best be able to prove your citizenship quickly.

It was a shitshow, and violated the fuck out of the Constitution.  So of course Trump loves it.

The Times finally reported on Milley calling Trump a fascist and the most dangerous person to America today. What is that, four days late? And they buried it in like the 25th paragraph of a puff piece about Trump voters.  Meanwhile the Harvard President's dissertation citations got something like a dozen front page stories and/or op-eds a year ago.

Man, is it wrong for me to publicly profess my love of Mark Milley? That dude fucks.

Lol, you mean the same Trump who is friends with Bibi, moved the US Embassy to Jerusalem, and is backed by evangelical Christians?

From August:

Quote

"From the start, Harris has worked to tie Israel's hand behind its back, demanding an immediate ceasefire, always demanding ceasefire," Trump said, adding it "would only give Hamas time to regroup and launch a new October 7 style attack."
Trump added: "I will give Israel the support that it needs to win but I do want them to win fast."
In the same event, Trump also labelled pro-Palestinian supporters calling for an end to U.S. support for Israel's war as "pro-Hamas thugs" and "jihad sympathizers." He threatened to arrest and deport them from the U.S. if he became president.

What Harris and Walz really need to be doing is highlighting the insane shit he's saying and then saying shit along the lines of "the corporate media is trying to suppress this because they want him to win." If anything will get them to stop burying "Former Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff calls Trump greatest danger to America" in the 25th paragraph of a story, it'll be that.

I'm sure him interviewing was a requirement to agree to sit down. Although I'd wish they'd demanded Jesse Walters.

The big question is was he given carte blanche to come up with his own questions or is he just going to parrot right-wing Trumplican talking points back at her the whole time?

Any other "journalist" would have demanded full independence to ask their own questions, but it's Fox News, so I'm sure it'll be:

Why do you hate America?
Why do you think all Trump supporters are racists?
Why do you want to forcibly transition school children and soldiers?
Did I ask why you hate America so much?

You clearly didn't understand my post. I'm not talkinga about what his response would be to this publicly. I'm talking about him unraveling privately becuase he knows a black woman is smarter than him.

He already knows and already is unraveling. He's a troll. He wants her to engage him. She can bury him by just letting him wrap the rope around his own neck and letting the voters kick away the chair. Playing along is not a winning strategy at all.

3 weeks to go. Where is everyone's head with how this will resolve.

I still think Harris is going to eke out a small EC win by early Wed morning. I'm guessing she wins with PA and NV.

A close election would make sense if the candidates shared many similarities. These two could not be more dissimilar. It’s why I believe  this election will not be close at all. There’s not much to mull. The choice is clear.

Episode 7 Wow GIF by Wrexham AFC

Sore Loser With three weeks to go until Election Day, Donald J. Trump stands a reasonable chance of becoming the 47th President of the United States. Despite assassination attempts, impeachments, special counsels, felony convictions and hundreds of millions in civil penalties, most polls show his race against V.P. Kamala Harris is too close to call.

The first time he ran for president in 2016, he was coming off the last season of Celebrity Apprentice. I had a front row seat as a finalist on that final season and marveled at his audacity with his checkered past to seek the highest office in the land. Then, in the blink of an eye, he went from novice to formidable challenger to victorious over Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

As President he was a loyal friend, who allowed regular access. My resulting coverage gave him the benefit of most doubts. His presidency was underrated. Throughout his first big scandal in office, the 2017-2019 Mueller Investigation into allegations Trump conspired with Russia to undermine our political process, I stuck with him, deeply suspicious of constant efforts to undermine his Administration.

The last time President Trump and I spoke was Friday, November 13, 2020, when he called me at home. It was ten days after his narrow lost to Joe Biden. He was calling to get my take on the controversies surrounding the election, which appeared to have been decided by a handful of votes in several states. I asked him what he would do if the vote count remained against him. As I reported on Fox News that same morning, Friday the 13th, he told me he was a reasonable man and would do the right thing if that time came.

It never did. Instead, President Trump embarked on an increasingly menacing campaign to discredit the 2020 election. With a motley supporting cast of increasingly fringe characters, he careened from one bizarre theory to the next, offering no meaningful proof, that he had been robbed by the Democrats.

None exists. If you are a Republican, Donald Trump has made a liar of you. He has coaxed and intimidated tens of millions into pretending he was reelected in 2020, and that the election was stolen.

In furtherance of that Big Lie, on January 6, 2021, Trump incited and unleashed the violent attack on the center of democracy, the U.S. Capitol for which he was Impeached. As his followers trashed that sacred space, he was on the phone urging Vice President Mike Pence essentially to overturn the will of the American people. Pence refused to put Trump ahead of the Constitution. Trump stabbed the Constitution in the back. Maybe you are inclined to vote for the former president anyway, because he says he will cut your taxes or build the border wall or pull out of NATO or put tariffs on China. However, you justify voting for Trump, adopting his big lie about the stolen election makes you a liar.

Better to admit he lost last time but that you don’t care because a Harris presidency would be a disaster, or you admire his defiance in the face of an assassin’s bullet. Just don’t pretend that he got robbed in 2020. That is a lie. Former President Trump is a sore loser who cannot be trusted to honor the Constitution. That is why I am voting for Kamala Harris to be our 47th President.

Yep.  Straight into his pockets for his post-election legal battles.

But not the ones he will wage to overturn the results, those you still have to donate more money for!  Just the ones for the all the crime he did in office.  Which you're also paying for.

Well he did say the Taliban was a "medium" threat in Afghanistan after we pulled out in 2021 and said it would take at least 2 years for them to take over.  It took 10 days.

He said Kyiv would likely fall in 72 hours if Russia invaded.  Its been over 2.5 years.

That sucks, but it shouldn't be too difficult for a naturalized U.S. citizen to get back into the United States, never mind the fact that they shouldn't have to do it in the first place.

I really have no strong predictions about the outcome of the election.  But I KNOW 2 things:

1. Enthusiasm for Harris is higher than it was for Biden in 2020 or Clinton in 2016.

The 1 thing I know is I will be at the Marriott bar in Burbank acting like a fool on election night if Harris wins.
