Bernie the guy who is usually right. The guy who gets shit done if there is even a remote chance of it happening. Shoots fireballs from his eyes and bolts of lightning from his arse. Come on Hugo you can’t hold out much longer...

Hey, I got nothing against Bernie but the real credit here goes to Bezos.

While Bernie led the way, it's not like he was the only Senator calling for this.

Point being Bernie is seemingly always leading the way... right? And I gave Bezos his props.

He certainly seems to spend a remarkable amount of time in the media.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

When most of the people you work with aren’t worth a shit and have no interest in helping the people of this country... one must find alternate routes.

Bernie could have used more of the media last election. He has set himself up as a household name. Name recognition through the roof. It had to happen to give himself a chance the next time around.

If he runs I hope it's as VP. I think we need some youth in the potus seat

Why do we need youth?

Youth means inexperience and naivety.  We got youth with Obama and it led us to the Russians with Trump and the theft of a Supreme Court seat.

So seriously, what is the advantage of youth in the most important job in the world?

In all likelihood you won't end up with the guy you didn't vote for becoming president.

Bernie again the only politician willing to do what’s right. Does not care about billion dollar arm sales. Keep your money. Only cares about freedom for the people around the world. Take it from Khashoggi the guy who was hacked into pieces.

https://www.newsweek.com/jamal-khashoggi-secret-interview-saudi-murder-prince-mbs-islam-america-1178489

When MBS arrested all of those princes and others and put them at the Ritz-Carlton—I  understand when somebody’s this corrupt, he needs to be arrested. However, there was no due process, no evidence, no transparency. So if he really wants to be a reformist, why not bring evidence to the public? Why not bring transparency where you have really introduced the rule of law and due process? The people will be on his side if he would do that.

I don't think that is in his—he doesn't see that. He doesn't see the need for that. He is still very much… Deep inside him, he is an old-fashioned tribal leader. Look at the Kuwaiti judiciary, which is like a Gulf state; the society is very much close to the Saudi society. But the Kuwaiti judiciary is way more advanced than the Saudi judiciary, way more transparent than the Saudi judiciary.

Why does MBS not see that part of reform? Because it will limit his authoritarian rule, and he doesn’t want that. He doesn't see the need for that. So sometimes I feel that...he wants to enjoy the fruits of First World modernity and Silicon Valley and cinemas and everything, but at the same time he wants also to rule like how his grandfather ruled Saudi Arabia.

That doesn't work. You can't have it both ways.

He wants to have it both ways.

This is what I’m trying to understand: Can you have it both ways?

First of all, there is no political movement in Saudi Arabia that could pressure him, number one. And the world is happy with him. Do you see anybody in America except for Bernie Sanders who is calling for putting pressure on MBS? I only saw Bernie Sanders, but no one else.

Bernie still drawing crowds and encouraging citizens to vote.

https://www.politico.com/story/2018/10/19/bernie-sanders-2020-916368

“Now Trump, he’s a very, very tough guy,” Sanders told about 3,000 people in this college town. “He’s a very, very strong guy when he tears little children at the border from the arms of their mothers. What a tough guy. But he ain’t such a tough guy when he has to deal with Putin … He is not such a tough guy when he has to deal with his billionaire friends in Saudi Arabia, who just tortured and murdered a courageous journalist.”

Also acknowledges what’s his biggest “issue” for some... how old he is. Still shows up to work everyday. Not the kind where you say you’ll show up to work and end up golfing half the time. Actually show up to work.

https://www.politico.com/story/2018/10/19/bernie-sanders-2020-918609

“It’s part of a discussion, but it has to be part of an overall view of what somebody is and what somebody has accomplished,” Sanders, who is 77, told POLITICO. “Look, you’ve got people who are 50 years of age who are not well, right? You’ve got people who are 90 years of age who are going to work every day doing excellent work. And obviously, age is a factor. But it depends on the overall health and well being of the individual.”

None necessarily -- except maybe actually winning the 2020 election.  Which I personally believe considering the older candidates out there.

Bernie has 0 chance. The only reason he was successful in 2016 was that Hillary cleared the field with back room deals and he was the only other choice. Now that the primary has legitimate competition for ideas and likeable personalities, he won’t do well.

I like Bernie and I'm glad he's made the party more progressive. I'll vote for him if I think he gives Democrats the best chance to take down Trump. I just have my doubts that our very diverse party is going to choose an old white guy to be that person. If he is, then Bernie 2020!

I am going to make an effort not to bash Bernie because I think he’s in it for the right reasons but some of his supporters scare the shit out me because they remind me of the Trumpers.

No. Bernie's voter base was much younger than Hillary's (Trump's base was old as hell).

But the 2016 primary will never die in the hearts of furious shitlibs, so ignore facts and reason.

I know I’m talking to a wall here but the Bernie supporters will defend him to the death and ignore anything that emerges that might tarnish his reputation.  They will fake news it away just like the Trump supporters.  That shit is pisses me off to no end.

Don't whine vaguely, say something.

We’ve been over the issues before.  You respond mostly by ridiculing me and then give me the same talking points Bernie puts out.

Just like the Trump supporters.

love Bernie but , since he's a nice guy, his softness is a detriment when he goes up against evil thrashers like a Ted Cruz or Trump. Cruz ripped Bernie to pieces in their healthcare debate on CNN last year. Bern just isn't that good a slick talker as are others. So, his heart is golden, not a slave to any big corp, but damn, he'll be crushed in debates.

I heard a Bernie Bro say that everyone should have healthcare and it reminded me of the Trump supporters who chant lock her up. Man, they really are the same and the only people who can't see that are insane leftists.

Bernie rules

This 45 second clip is better than anything any other Democratic nominee has said all year. Except when Kamala Harris said she was smoking mids listening to Tupac while she was employed as a DA and her office was prosecuting minor drug offenses. That was pretty bad ass.

I don't want Bernie campaign material. You know his record is previously mixed, and newly opportunistic. Just like everybody else, he's a prevaricating politician.

I mean, he's directly gonna blot out Elizabeth Warren, just to celebrate himself. And as an avowed independent and a radical socialist, he's opening the door wide for Howard Schultz, while seemingly pleasing Donald Trump.

He's misreading the winds completely. And the majority of Democrats on this site don't appear the slightest bit enthused.

If we're combing through the bin of old white guys, I'll take Biden in a heartbeat. I bet he'll pick a female Veep.

Okay, so you're just a weird concern-troll or something. Biden has much much heavier baggage than Bernie.

Bernie has some red flags, perceived or otherwise. (transparency issues, Russia issues, lack of specifics, not a real democrat).

He got away with it in 2016 because no one saw him as a legitimate threat.  Hillary held off attacking him too much because she needed his voters.  2020 is going to be a different ball game for Mr. Bernard.

However, I’m glad he’s in the race and trying to actually debate the ideas/issues.

I don't care about Bernie's tax returns. Maybe if there was some rumor of impropriety I would care more. Let me know if something important or interesting happens with regard to Bernie's taxes.
