The dude is losing his mind. If this makes sense to you, please explain it to me like I'm 5.

He's doing a really bad PR job - this is an attempt make him look super autistic and weird, so they can continue to chalk up the Nazi salute as just him being socially awkward.

Yeah, it is crazy isn't it? He went from open hand on heart to stiff fingers with an alacrity that excludes the plausible deniability for which the typical crowd of supporters is known. Elon is someone who, on the one hand, thinks he's the smartest guy in the room (remember all the shitposting he did when it became evident that Twitter was going to be his and people just prior to that, during the takeover, and then on) and yet is filled with insecurities displays behaviors that IMO shows both his distorted  belief system and his emotional needs. He's not a leader, he's not emotionally healthy, he's not someone you could trust with anyone or anything you care about. So he has money and is given a platform and we (Americans) have only ourselves to blame. Just because someone says they're on your side doesn't mean they're telling you the truth. He's a high tech grifter and silicon slicky with some powerful contacts and a spigot of our tax dollars. He's going to tighten that lasso on everyone's wallets and keep yanking until we're broke. Yee haw.

I mean seriously, the last decade has really tapped into the spaces that a lot of people have kept hidden for obvious reasons. Now that they are publicly ok to show in some crowds does it really shock you that people are trying to make that crowd bigger? Does it really shock you that some guys on here that were kind of shitty when it came to regular stuff take up for these guys when they finally let it spill out?

I think people have always been this way. Just now someone stupidly invented technology that gives every moron on the planet a voice. And the ability to seek out and gather will other like minded dipshits and amplify that voice to crowd level volumes.

We’ve always been this way. It’s just now come to light via technology.

Has Guadaloopy chimed in on the salute yet?

Well, see, the salute was really designed to facilitate the data-gathering to finally make FSD a completely functional offering, so Guadaloopy is too busy sitting at home letting his Tesla drive around and earn him money.

Oh, and if it just so happens to purposefully aim for jewish pedestrians, well....want an omelette, gotta break a few eggs.

Nsiap: NFL teams aren't allowed on Blue sky

Quote

The NFL told the New England Patriots to shut down the team’s Bluesky account. Patriots VP of content Fred Kirsch said the team was told that Bluesky is “not an approved social media platform for the NFL yet,”

In an ordinary world, everyone would know not to associate with Nazis. But these days you have to make clear that Nazis are not friends of mine.

Well we are not there, but there’s an Ordinary World somehow we have to find. And as we try to make our way to that Ordinary World, we will try to survive.

However, as a result of plunging into that ecosystem, he now actually believes as they do.  Because he is the most gullible fucking idiot alive.  Seriously, he has no governing principles other than his narcissism.  He will fall for whatever "philosophy" is the most recent one he's immersed himself in.  And then, use his massive and undeserved wealth (and thus power) to pursue those goals in the ultimate "look at me!  I'm significant!" display.

This is true of Dotard and many other powerful people these days. To a great extent, they're just credulous dumbshit consumers of right wing media. For instance, when someone finally sat Trump down for a few minutes to go over healthcare policy, he comes away saying "nobody knew healthcare could be so complicated." He really had just bought into the talk radio mantra that everything that's wrong in this country is because the libruls and gubment are actively fucking things up and are all that stand in the way of a perfect plan that covers everybody and costs nothing. He found out that any reform is going to involve tradeoffs and won't be perfect for everybody. He hasn't thought about it since.

MORE CRACKS

So quick follow-up on that Stargate kerfuffle. I didn’t realize that Musk was frozen out of the announcement. He’s not there and they had to pull some shenanigans to keep him out of and away from the room.

Despite Bannon’s efforts, Musk has a west wing office.

As more billionaires lineup with the administration, Musk becomes less important. And making enemies (see that tweet storm) won’t help.

Leon is consuming his own product.  I had to explain this to an older relative who tries to do the “you don’t like Musk because he’s successful and he changed his politics” bit and then I show him where Musk is fighting with college students at 2:30 in the morning and calling them retards (my cousin is autistic so his grandpa does not take kindly to that word).  It’s literally “this is the world’s richest man fighting with twenty-something’s on Twitter at all hours of the night, he’s not well”.  Musk constantly engages with people who are barely out of college, if that, and it shows.

Same relative tried to proudly tell the whole family about Musk’s Tesla TVs and I had to gently shoot him down and point out that a Czech company named Tesla was founded in the 1940s and they are selling rebadged TVs in Europe under the Tesla name.

Was reading a story on the birthright citizenship injunction hearing.

One of the things the challenging states offered is the enormous cost in retooling systems to consider different citizenship status occurring at birth.

There's going to be so many "hidden" costs to all this bullshit.

It's all designed to keep people looking the other way while Trump and his ilk pilfer the coffers of the US government.  That's the real hidden, monetary cost.

ezpz  pregnant woman gives birth, when asked who the father is, she just names random R senator.

Do both parent have to be citizens?

I assume a system exists to determine citizenship, if the mom's paperwork checks out, then ok.  If not paternity test to prove citizen father.

Also it's going to be a problem for the home birth / dula folks.  Perhaps it will just be after the fact paperwork.

Edited out the bits about the President as that has its own thread in CR, but speaking of Elon and healthcare...I never paid a whole lot of attention to the neuralink implants other than having some skepticism and also the interesting dilemma of asking for volunteers for the implants among the disabled community to be test subjects. However, now that Mr I Like Government Money and Control is in DC and has his finger in some pies in different sectors, I happened to run across some blurb about TeslaCare, a little handheld device that uses terahertz tech to "operate on the principles of energy healing, utilizing specific frequencies and heating elements to encourage the body’s innate ability to recover. " Yes, you read that correctly.

Here is a pic of the device:

TeslaCare-X

Strangely, though, I cannot find anything that shows whether this is something manufactured by one of his companies or a quack device that is using the Tesla name to sell pseudo health care. Most of the web info is just fakey reviews and links to buy them (cheapest I saw was around $500.00) but I did locate a business startup registered in New York with a foundation date of 1/18/25. (Yes, I'm wasting my morning break time). Anywho, the domain is using a privacy filter or whatever it's called so I suspect that it's the latter--someone just using the name and trading off of it-- but the RFK Jr. nomination, if it were to succeed, would greatly benefit so many of these types of shit, whether it's Musk grabbing the $$ or some other low end grifter. I mean that game has been going on for centuries, but the wealthiest dude having access to things like the FDA (FDA approved!! You can trust us!), NIH research $$ and so on just grinds my gears.

So my ex-Wife worked(s) for Tesla?

Also reminds me of this.

This is what I referenced earlier about a relative trying to claim Musk was selling the bestest TV in the whole world and most likely applies to what you are talking about -

Tesla a.s. - Wikipedia

TESLA a.s. is a Czech manufacturer and supplier of special radio communication and security electrical engineering for military and commercial use. The name was originally used by a state-owned conglomerate that was the monopoly producer of electronic appliances and components in the former Socialist Republic of Czechoslovakia. The conglomerate was founded in 1946 and ran until 1991, when it was privatised. The Tesla name is used by its successor company and former subsidiaries in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

In 2011, the Czech company Inter-Sat Ltd. acquired the license for the Tesla brand name from TESLA a.s. to sell household appliances and consumer electronics with different logo in Europe, mostly in Central and Southeastern countries
