Idk if you're in East Austin but there's a shitload of them all in the neighborhood. They used to freak me out a bit because I occasionally run through the neighborhood, and a little doubt would cross my mind that they'd stop to let me cross or get too close to me to pass me if I'm on the road, but they've been fine. Still kinda freak me out because they park behind the cemetery that's across MLK from Disch-Falk and just wait there often. On 14th st.

I can only imagine the personal injury lawyers going into a feeding frenzy if this shit goes sideways.

I see Waymos every day around Austin. They're of course very obvious. I have seen them navigate some challenging driving scenarios including safely and "decisively" pulling out of a side street on South Congress across multiple lanes, during heavier traffic periods.

I would never get in one personally and likely won't need to.

That said, the Tesla robotaxis better also be clearly labeled because I will give those several hundred yards of clearance, take a different route or pull over to prepare to dial 911 in anticipation of the accidents.

Oh, my sweet summer child.

In yet another episode of crank-gobbling simpness, Greg Abbott will call a special session to pass legislation exempting all car companies that rhyme with "Mesla" from all civil liability for incidents involving self-driving cars.

You know I'm right.

  • Tesla earlier this week reported a $600 million profit associated with its bitcoin holdings, which accounted for a little more than a quarter of its fourth-quarter profits.
  • The company was able to book these bitcoin-derived profits thanks to a change in Financial Accounting Standards Board guidelines for crypto assets.

I’m sure that’s a sound strategy.

He will have an acrimonious separation from dotard. I just hope it happens while we still have a “functioning” country.

Then maybe we will see if dotard learned anything from his mentor.

Leon, come have a cup of tea by this open window.

It might get to the point where there won't be a separation, because of the implications.   Hell, after the events of this week, that point may have already passed.

Isn't it interesting how throwing out a nazi salute and cozying up to literal actual no shit German neonazis actually made him closer to the president and his administration?

So, with Leon taking over the federal government's payment processing systems, are we about to see him pull off the ultimate version of the Office Space scam?

If his people are trying to make a list of what every American receives from the federal government, whether it's student aid, tax refunds, VA assistance, farm loans, Social Security, pay stubs for military and government workers, medical assistance, disability, retirement for ex-government and military, etc., I'm guessing somebody is going to make a run at challenging what these hundreds of millions of Americans are getting.  There's no other reason to build a database of what every American receives from the government.  Trying to take over all communications with the public and sticking your hand in the payment processing system does sound like he's going to scam everybody, but trying to build a picture of what every American receives makes me think it's far worse.

And you know that shit will be leaked to the world.

He will likely do both. The data will be used as a weapon and he will definitely skim money.

I've done work for many financial institutions but doing work for Treasury’s BFS is mind blowing. When you see the amount of money being transferred you can't help but think what a small transaction fee would net you.

I would not be surprised if some Musk owned company takes over all federal disbursements for a high percentage fee. He will become a trillionaire off of the backs of the American tax payer.

I think he is also going to try to take over the faa and angle to privatize Air Traffic Control. He’s going to start pointing out that they don’t have the staff or recruits to manage it safely and he is going to push for AI to handle the easy stuff.

Is he going to follow the Chinese model of trying to get people to use say...an app that handles their social media, shopping, email, messaging, and banking, and all of it monitored closely by some entity he controls?
