So now the sandy vagina is gone, this needs more attention.  Does anyone feel great about a billionaire crypto bro mucking around in the internals of the U.S. treasury?  That reputable financial news orgs are reporting concerns about damage to the U.S. dollar?   That there is no transparency or accountability to what is going on?

‘This Needs To Stop Now’—Elon Musk Confirms Radical Doge U.S. Treasury Plan

Musk, the Tesla billionaire-turned-government-cost-cutter, is leading the so-called Doge department of government efficiency, proposed by Trump’s Commerce department nominee Howard Lutnick to “rip the waste out of our $6.5 trillion budget.”

Now, as fears emerge Trump’s administration is “dangerously” undermining the U.S. dollar, Musk has confirmed he wants to put the U.S. Treasury on a blockchain, the technology that underpins bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies—including Musk’s pet project dogecoin.

"Career Treasury officials are breaking the law every hour of every day by approving payments that are fraudulent or do not match the funding laws passed by Congress," Musk posted to X, referencing part of the United States code which outlines how some government payments are approved. “This needs to stop now!”

Replying to X influencer Mario Nawfal who asked: "Should the Treasury be put on the blockchain so this doesn’t happen," Musk replied: “Yes!”

Earlier, the New York Times reported Trump’s Treasury secretary Scott Bessent handed Doge department officials access to the payment system which sends out money to the tune of $5 trillion per year on behalf of the entire federal government on Friday, citing anonymous sources.

Last week, Musk held discussions about using the blockchain technology to save money, it was reported by Bloomberg, citing anonymous sources.

Unnamed people close to Musk told the financial newswire that there's been talk of using a blockchain to track federal spending, secure data, make payments and manage buildings.

It is unclear if Musk plans on using an existing blockchain, such as bitcoin's, ethereum's, dogecoin's or one of thousands of smaller blockchains which have their own cryptocurrencies, or if he would rather create a new, purpose built blockchain.

Following Musk's take over of Twitter, which he then renamed X, Musk also debated adding blockchain technology to the platform before ditching the idea, text messages between Musk and his brother Kimbal revealed in 2022.

The Doge department is a nod to the shiba inu doge meme that's also linked to the dogecoin cryptocurrency, named by Musk as his "favorite" cryptocurrency and accepted as payment by his Tesla car company.

The dogecoin price has rocketed higher following Trump’s election victory, surging along with the bitcoin price, as traders bet Musk's proximity to the U.S. president will further boost the meme-based cryptocurrency.

In his first week back in the White House Trump followed through on his campaign promises to make overhauling crypto policy one of his administration's priorities, ordering the creation of a cryptocurrency working group tasked with proposing new regulations and exploring the creation of a national cryptocurrency stockpile.

Trump’s crypto and artificial intelligence czar, venture capitalist David Sacks, will chair the group, with Sacks—an early investor in the ethereum rival cryptocurrency solana—praised by Trump who later toldFox Business Trump's actions showed he is following through on his promise to make the U.S. the "crypto capital" of the world, something Trump also told World Economic Forum attendees in Davos.

Just want to point out Solana is worth under 200 today and ETH is like 2700 😂

FML..... Cannot make a car drive safely on its own, but has the software for airplanes.

Elon Musk has pledged to deploy his "DOGE" cost-cutting squad inside the innards of America's air traffic control system, promising Wednesday to "make rapid safety upgrades" to the complex web of software, hardware, facilities and people that keep planes from crashing into each other.

"With the support of President @realDonaldTrump, the @DOGE team will aim to make rapid safety upgrades to the air traffic control system," Musk posted to his social media platform X. Musk's comment came shortly after Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy posted that he'd spoken to DOGE and that the squad plans to "plug in" to the air traffic control system to help make unspecified upgrades to unknown systems.

Vivek Ganapathy Ramaswamy who bowed out of working with DOGE to ostensibly run for Governor of Ohio, has an interesting name and an interesting skin tone for somebody who wants to run for Governor of Ohio from a certain party.

What if I told you that Vivek, for all of his bluster, had enough self-awareness that when he saw the teenagers and 20-something’s on Leon’s DOGE team that Leon planned to deploy inside the Treasury, etc. to try and take control of the United States’s governments finances, that Vivek knew that he needed to get the fuck out of DOGE.

He will never win the the race for Governor of Ohio and he knows it.  He’s all about raising his brand as much as possible, but he doesn’t seem like a True Believer in Musk’s efforts to destroy the country.

Tell me what could go wrong with replacing all of the radars on airplanes and at the airports with cameras?

Sure make upgrades while planes are in mid flight. What could go wrong?

I've done many an upgrade of enterprise level systems over the years, and no amount of prep can prevent inevitable fuckery. That's just how it is.

Why we always do it on a Friday night then spend the weekend fixing the fuckery.

Ain’t that the truth.  My take on being a good parent is balance and adaptive thinking.

A kiddo raised to be a robotic math god is likely to freeze up solving problems outside their narrowly focused upbringing or have severe emotional issues…look at someone like Tiger.

Too much free range, “let the kid find their own spirit guide, man” fails to prepare them for being a productive member of society.  Of course, abandonment fuels 20-something’s with daddy issues and I’m sure half of the world approves of that.

That being said, the focus on STEM in primary education is (and has been) awful for decades.  Math is the language of the universe and we do a shit job preparing our kids in public education.

Now…what organization is trying to shut down the Dept of Education, whitewash history and gut public education for private Christian academy vouchers?

I doubt it.  If that would disqualify him from a position that isn’t confirmed by Congress, why wouldn’t it disqualify him for being Governor of Ohio?

And if the DOGE bullshit went through confirmation in Congress, he would have been confirmed easily.

The more one reads into the Leon Youth’s background, the more clear it is that it’s not just grifting and protecting his companies from the feds, but wrecking everything.

I think it is a combination of both. Started with protection, ended with wrecking. But no matter, always grifting.

He never forgave that dude in South Africa who pushed him down the steps.

No it literally was the Screech tweet. I’m not trying to be argumentative, just with most of this board being off twitter I think folks missed one of the funniest internet implosions in a while.

Quote

The decision came after Gov. Mike DeWine of Ohio announced that Lt. Gov. Jon Husted would fill the Senate seat being vacated by Vice President JD Vance. Mr. Ramaswamy was also a contender for the vacancy, and Mr. Trump recently told him that he would be a good fit.

It also followed Mr. Ramaswamy’s comments blaming an American culture that venerated “mediocrity over excellence” for top tech companies often hiring foreign-born engineers. People close to Mr. Trump said he was unhappy about Mr. Ramaswamy wading into the online debate over H-1B visas among conservatives, many of whom saw Mr. Ramaswamy’s comments as critical of American workers.

Quote

Mr. Trump was not happy to be dragged into a high-profile fight, and people close to him were unhappy having to expend capital with allies on the issue. But unlike Mr. Musk, who has supported Mr. Trump to the tune of several hundred million dollars in donations, Mr. Ramaswamy is seen as a less essential presence in Mr. Trump’s new orbit.

There had also been some tension in recent weeks between Mr. Musk and Mr. Ramaswamy over their approaches to the government-efficiency project. The two have their own allies and lawyers who work with them, and Mr. Musk has sharply criticized Mr. Ramaswamy in private conversations.

Well, either way, he's lucky.  Leon's money isn't going to keep buying him free reign (or rein) from Trump when he goes after Social Security and the DOD.
