After watching clips of JD Vance skiing over the weekend and looking like a 90 year old grandmother, he's going to be even more of asshole than he was on Friday.

So they’re self loathing, closet homos. (Nttawwt) Sounds right.

Posted this on the CR Doge thread.

Rolling Stone magazine reporting that the FAA is gifting Star Link tens of millions. Verbal directives. No paper trail. Unclear if the Verizon contract is still being honored.

im sure everybody on this board thinks this is just fine [*amygdala fights furiously with self*]

Yep. The short version of the piece about alpha males and such is: the harder you try to be a performative “man,” the less of a man you actually are.

It’s the parallel of being cool: the only way to be truly cool is to not GAF what people think. If you keep trying to impress people so they’ll think you’re cool….you’re the opposite of cool.

Yet culturally, we have elevated as “alpha males” literally the least alpha men I’ve ever seen in my life. Bullies are not men, they are pathetic, weak fucking losers who only punch when they can punch down.

I took "History of Being Cool" to fulfill an elective via American Studies.  It was a fun class if a little goofy and filled with quite a few unserious people looking for an easy class.

But that's exactly it. Cool is basically having a solid self esteem and personal ethos. You are unbothered by rejection and resilient in the face of insult. Unreactive, "Zen", introspective, unflappable in the face of chaos.

Musk is hyper reactive, manic, unsure of what is going to happen to him next. He's moody, hyper reactive, and unable to have any introspection and thus course correct.  He can pay for a bunch of surgeries to look less dorky but then he skips the gym, dresses like a fool and gets made fun of.  Which hurts his feelings; which makes him further escalate his behavior to further prove his worth in more pathetic ways.  Vicious cycle and less cool with every iteration.  Also less masculine so he will need to artificially impregnate yet another woman to feel cool and manly.

This man is going to go through things.

I thought that was an important piece, pretty accurate and worth a more intelligent discussion.

But i was at the game in Columbus, so your post tracks.

He knows it too. There's a reason he makes that "my headstone will say 'never went to therapy'" joke every three months. It's fucking pathetic.

I don't know, man, it's really hard for me to laugh at the "Elon is a fucking moron" sentiment when he now controls the information sphere and the Presidency for $44B + $100M. Money well spent.

I do not claim he is a moron.  I decry the notion that he’s a genius.  He’s a grifter with above-average intelligence and risk tolerance.

He's not unlike a twelve year old boy except most of them are more aware and compassionate and that's saying something, considering the immaturity of that age. Boys in early adolescence are seeking their place in the world and since most of the world follows patriarchal models, it takes some time to figure out which path to follow. Having money (i.e. coming from 'money') usually means that you're going to have a certain set of allowances that society 'grants' to you based on that as well as a certain set of expectations. Elon is going to forever chase the image he has of himself: as a historical figure, a man of brilliancy, the world's richest man, a father sperm donor to many children, an emperor, but he will never achieve satisfaction because there is no substance to that which he seeks. These are all characteristics that are ephemeral--someone will eventually surpass the qualities of richest or most children or brilliancy and even historical figures who are infamous are, in hindsight, reviled and derided as fools or evil.

Andrew Carnegie was able to blink away some rather shrewd manipulative business dealings by giving away much of his fortune with philanthropy. Somehow I don't see Elon doing that. he is a rather hollow brittle personality, one that shatters when touched.

Yeah, pretty much. He's not a moron at all but he's not the Tony Stark his sycophants think he is, far from it. Just the way he talks about certain things in the tech industry make it extremely clear he has very little knowledge in a lot of these areas but Americans are hard-wired to believe money makes you smart.

I can guarantee you that none of these fuckers, Zuckerberg, Musk, Trump, etc. have ever let their daughters paint their fingernails and then went out in public with them or had a tea party with them and patiently listened to their stuffed animals have a conversation..

Bingo. Seriously. This is a perfect way to capture the dichotomy. That’s a man. Does what’s right, doesn’t give a shit what you think. Not the roided up dude in his Black Rifle Coffee shirt who “doesn’t do any of that fairy shit.”

I am going to explain Elmo’s behavior a little bit. Since this idiot shares a spectrum with me  there are certain behaviors I notice that are common. Note, however, that his narcissism takes what a want to explain to an 11.

There is a behavior called masking. It’s fairly common among people on the spectrum. I will explain myself first and my experiences. I have found that looking back on my life that I always attempted to just fit into a group and mask the behaviors I had that were different. In my life I have hung out with people and in places that others would not go to for whatever reason. I can fit into just about any group of people. In another life I might’ve enjoyed working for the government because of this. Natural skills with people do not come easily to me, BUT what I can do is figure out how to mimic the way a group acts and it allows me to be part of said group. It’s mentally exhausting, but I have the routine of how to fit in down. It’s easier than trying to explain to everyone the differences I have and I am mostly okay with that.

Elmo masks himself as well, BUT, and this is a big detour from normal autistic behavior, he will fit into a group and pour his focus into it and want to then be the focus of the group. This is where the narcissism comes in. Is there childhood trauma with his dad? Yes. Is there childhood trauma from being made fun of? Yes. Did he take these slights, put them in his back pocket and remember them so he could one day get back at all his imagined enemies? Yes. He’s doing that now while getting the adulation of millions of people here in the US and now in other countries. The narcissism puts all of his impulsive and selfish behavior way over the top.

Autism can manifest itself in giving you a really narrow focus. My narrow focus used to lead me into making some real bad decisions. It took learning who I was and understanding that being different is okay. That was not an easy road, but the journey has been rewarding. Elmo skipped that day of school and really never has gotten in touch with who he is so we get this monster. He takes being different as a slight and he is still stuck in his mental development in his teenage years. He could be using his influence to narrowly focus on bettering mankind. Instead he chose money, attention and hate instead. For me I can see and understand his behaviors clear as day. I have no empathy for him because he chose to follow the hate. He’ll never find any real happiness. His internal emotional state is a never-ending void. That is a dark place to be at and it’s not good for the rest of us.

Freedom means constantly adjusting your behavior so you don't lose your man card.

Not directed at you, but I find that references to a "man card" is usually indicative of an insecure, overcompensating dipshit.
