Musk said this morning that he wants to privatize Amtrak and the Post Office.

If you are in a rural area...Musk is telling you to

angry will ferrell GIF

As you drive your ass 15 or 20 miles to get your mail.

I would say he doesn't have a shot because, you now, the whole Constitution thing, but that doesn't matter.

What does matter is a bunch of people in Congress will realize that their precious fucking campaign mailers won't be getting to their rural constituents in a timely manner and/or will cost their campaigns a lot more to mail, so they might try and push back.

Shit, that’s just more money to blast out commercials.

Those districts are overwhelmingly MAGA. They won’t go against anything Elon and Trump want. There will be no pushback. Look no further than the party dictate to no longer hold town halls.

Seems like more and more he wants to use strong arm tactics to crater other forms of transportation through disruption, destruction, and favored legal and funding status over his competition so that his automobile company can rise from the (literal) ashes and become the only option. After all, it's been done and he's not really an innovator when it comes down to it.

dear mr musk - You're an errand boy, sent by grocery clerks, to collect a bill.

this and that saying the whole quiet part out loud thing. its not only the acknowledgement that empathy is weak, but eventually the need to reward cruelty. Its coming and well, already here see Russia support now that I think of it.

Horror and moral terror are your friends. If they are not, then they are enemies to be feared. They are truly enemies. I remember when I was with special forces, it seems 1,000 centuries ago. We went into a camp to inoculate the children. We left the camp after we inoculated the children for polio, and this old man came running after us, he was crying, he couldn't see. We went back there and they had come back and they had hacked off every inoculated arm. There they were, in a pile, a pile of little arms, and I remember I cried, I wept like some grandmother. I wanted to tear my teeth out I didn't know what I wanted to do. And I want to remember it, I never want to forget it. I never want to forget. And then I realized like I was shot, like I was shot with a diamond. A diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought of the genius of that the genius of that, the genius. The will to do that. Perfect genuine, complete crystalline. Pure. They realized that they could stand it, these were not monsters, the men were trained cadres. The men who fought with their hearts who had families with children who had families who were filled with love, but they had the strength, the strength to do that. If I had 10 divisions of those men, then our troubles would be over here very quickly. You have to have men who are moral, and at the same time who are able to utilize their premortal instincts to kill without judgement. Because it's judgement that defeats us.

Everybody wanted me to do it, him most of all. I felt like he was up there, waiting for me to take the pain away. He just wanted to go out like a soldier, standing up, not like some poor, wasted, rag-assed renegade. Even the jungle wanted him dead, and that's who he really took his orders from anyway.

I really try to not be a hateful person.  And in this case I continue to fail miserably.  It is my failing and I need to stop failing.

But right now my mind wants to see this dipshit get kicked out of the Whitehouse, Tesla, Space X, StarLink and everywhere else, in the loudest way possible.

Counterpoint: there is a time to hate.

I don't buy it. It is cover for Elon. The damage has been done and the mistrust is there.

The cuts are going to happen. Now All elon did was ID who MIGHT be able to be cut. But you Mr./Ms. Secretary are the one who will do it.

He is the one sleeping in the White House using tax payer dollars to take care of his kid when he is off getting high. He is the one flying his mom into DC. Guess she is taking care of the kid?

The Cabinet will have to deal with the fall out. VA fails? Who gets the blame? Bird Flu? Nope, elon did not "cut" those people.

This is not DC. This is St. Petersburg and Elon is the evil monk.

I just want him to go into his Howard Hughes mode a bit early.

Trump could also be trying to walk back his Elon shout out in the state of the union speech due to his lawyers telling him to shut the fuck up dotard.

"To further combat inflation, we will not only be reducing the cost of energy, but will be ending the flagrant waste of taxpayer dollars. And to that end, I have created the brand new Department of Government Efficiency, DOGE. Perhaps you’ve heard of it. Perhaps. Which is headed by Elon Musk, who is in the gallery tonight...”

Exactly. No matter what Elon is going to decide. With you or for you, but it is still "your" cabinet. Look at first time around The Greatest people lasted how long? Pence made it 4 years and they then tried to lynch him.

Why can’t Elon be a man and take a ride on one of his rockets like Bezos has?

This is the best news I've heard today. There's a strong multiplier effect to Tesla's falling car sales.I'm going to spoiler it in case you want to think about what it might be for a moment. It's so obvious, one of us probably should've thought about it.

Spoiler

I’m going to get a good laugh if my wife’s friend that got stranded in Brownsville because of flight delays from the last one, got stranded again from this one as he has to fly to cities affected by Musk often
