Not entirely Elon related but putting it here anyway.

Clearly, despite the drain on Sanborn’s time and attention, he takes pride that his work remains relevant. You may need a security clearance or special permission to view Kryptos, but the invitation to solve it keeps the work perpetually alive, which is an artist’s dream. But then Sanborn checks his mail and sees this: “I’m just a vet,” someone writes. “Cracked it in days with Grok 3.” The answer wasn’t even close.

"I challenge you... to PHYSICAL COMBAT!!!"

His Dad probably wouldn't let him wear makeup, but it's very Adam Ant-Duran Duran like. Just goes to show that if someone had given him more of a nudge when he began his whole midlife crisis, we could've avoided this whole DOGE fiasco because Elon would've just started his own middle-aged boy/rock band kinda like other celebs and rich guys do.

TSLA topped out at 488 back in Dec. It is now worth less than half of that. Nice work Elmo. I'm sure your shareholders appreciate it. Of course, the board could always do their job and boot his ass from the company.

Lulz.

They still could.  Their brand power is good and I presume they have the cash and borrowing power to update their line.  New S, 3, X and Y’s and a recommitment to charging networks.  Drop the pickup, de emphasize FSD.  Just lean in to making the best EV and the best EV experience.  Traditional manufacturers are shrinking back from EV’s.  Done right, Tesla can soak up that demand.

At this point would making Elon walk the plank hurt the brand or business?  Europe hates him.  Crunchy (nttawwt) EV enthusiasts are literally rebranding their Teslas.

The board follows whatever common procedure for dumping Elon, goes on a apology tour and launches some “re-engagement incentives” that are ideally cost effective.

Bam.  Tesla becomes the cool kid again.  Re-emerges as the EV leader.  They can do it.  I know they can.

What exactly are you basing this opinion on?

Good where? There are bumper stickers people are putting on them to state that they purchased it before they knew he was a fucking Nazi. Show me one market where he's in positive favorability.

He's doing more to wreck any goodwill he had  more than anyone I can remember. There has to be someone that could compete with him for that ignominious title but I don't remember them.

EV isn't going away, but it's not going to be Tesla that benefits from it.

edit: Oh yeah I meant to say Twitter is fucked this morning. Another thing that he has managed to enshitten with rapidity.

Without Elon, TSLA is no longer a meme stock. So they don't care how much he destroys the actual brand, because if they replace Elon the market will start treating TSLA like an automobile manufacturer and not like a magical tech company.

This.  Elon is TSLA, TSLA is Elon.  Kind of like how there is no GOP but Trump anymore.

The TSLA board has to be ride-or-die with Elon.

Let's hope the outcome is "die."  Because fuck all of them, and fuck the economic enshittification that is "meme stocks."

TESLA is/was an energy company that used cars to get people addicted to their new age business plan:

Instead of building supply lines to the customers, the customers come to you.

They were using gasolines point of sale business model to provide transportation energy as well as solutions to people wanting to live off grid.

Elon kept thinking that it’s a transportation/ robotics (security & military)/ tech company that made him important and cool.

The South African P.T. Barnum has been able to fool people for 15 to 20 years… but as he is getting the ultimate access to power, the curtain has as been pulled back on his Wizard of Oz charade.

He should have focusing on becoming the new John Paul Getty.

SHOULD it ever have been valued at 488 or near that number?

Good.

Tornado alley is solidly Trump country.  When the leopard of mother nature eats some of their faces, without any of the warning that a functioning weather science system used to provide......that will be good for society as a whole.

They want people to suffer by a massive cessation of government services.  They think that everyone who benefits from government services is "welfare queens" (and we all know what color those welfare queens are).  Turns out, people who depend on weather warnings to survive are also "welfare queens."  Guess they should pull themselves up by their bootstraps and get their own radar and communications connectivity.  Fucking leeches.

Rookies.

Tire slashing is too much work.  What you really should do if the situation ever calls for it is to have a nice pair of side cutters handy and just cut the valve stems off.  You can do that much quicker and with far less work.  However, with the advent of modern battery operated power tools, one can just use a 3/4 bit with a drill and go through the sidewall.  Or, with a sawzall, just make a large cut.  However, those methods make noise and might draw unwanted attention.

Aside from that, what happened to you sucks, and yeah, I echo the sentiments of others.   Time to rebadge your car as a Buick or Audi or something.

A sharp pocket knife will slide into a sidewall like butter.

You could do it without even breaking stride, except for a slight dip in your shoulder to reach down to tire level.

Yawn. Dems will get blamed for it somehow.

They got blamed for the subprime recession which fueled the tea party movement. They got a share of 9/11 blame. Obama was blamed for the rise of ISIS. Biden for the Taliban, after Trump freed militants. Hillary for Benghazi, when state department budgets were cut by the GOP.

The GOP is much better at leveraging a crisis. It’s in their DNA to destroy things and blame their adversaries for the chaos and suffering, deserved or not.

Just saw the price drop referred to as the Tesla Chainsaw Massacre.

image.jpeg.670fef77e55a0d0bacf5fab96257e83e.jpeg

Now, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Trump instructs our sovereign wealth fund to start buying gobs of TSLA in the interest of national security, but short of that, what is to stop this price fall? Even at current levels, TSLA is a car manufacturer with a PE over 100 and it seems pretty evident the sales volumes of his incel-mobiles are going to be under massive pressure globally. Oh yeah, robo-taxis will save the day......

Setting aside the massively inflated PE ratio for a second -

How do you account for the fact that your brand is now so hated that there is a worldwide arson campaign against your assets? Seems like that wouldn’t be good for your valuation.

Any positives they have is because they are part of a command economy with a dictator in their pocket.  They can have Trump mandate certain purchases; they can get value out of being a 'technology company' as Elon tries to say, through other means.  They can't continue their inane valuation with consumer purchases of vehicles any more imo.

If you are a car insurer.....are you contemplating halting all insurance of a "car" that has now been turned into a hated political statement?

If you are a Tesla stockholder who realizes that the entire value of the brand is "Elon," and the odds of Elon being assassinated keep shooting up.....are you unloading that stock?

Indeed, there are only two things that can happen with Elon, and both of them are bad for Tesla at anything close to its current stock price: Elon keeps on keeping on, further tanking the price.  OR....Elon dies, thus taking away the only thing that makes Tesla unique and thus valuable.

But....have no fear.  The US government will 100% bail him out.  All future vehicle contracts will mandate "Teslas only."  The US government will reward Tesla with government contracts to....manufacture typewriters or some shit, it doesn't matter what it is, it just matters that the checks are cashed by Elon.  The US government will buy Tesla stock to prop up the price.  ETC.

It's a full-on kleptocracy, and Elon is leading the charge, while claiming he's saving us a shitload by changing the brand of coffee the government buys.  And the idiots eat it up.

Yup. All the "free market, no regulation" republicans will stand around with their dicks up their own asses while our tax dollars get shoveled into Elon's pockets.

That sucks.  It's performance fell 86% short of where it should have ended up.

Society's collective mission should be to bankrupt and completely destroy Elon Musk.
