Basic approach to handling efficiencies in business, government, etc. involves FIRST asking MANY questions:

  • What is the charter?
  • What do you deliver?
  • Is it being done effectively?
    • If not, what can be done to make it effective?
    • What are the daily, weekly, etc. impediments to effectiveness?
    • How can we get to the desired output meeting the key objectives?
  • Once we address effectiveness, let's address efficiency.
    • What is needed to increase output?
    • What inputs can we adjust/reduce to get the same output.

Efficiency is a ratio - mostly of output produced over input required to produce it.

Elmo is addressing this from 1 dimension - reducing input.  And he and his minions are doing it before actually understanding the problems and getting inputs from the main stakeholders.

Get to rural school, and it gets real wild when you have to pick a truck and a tractor brand.

Is it like national signing day when the uncommitteds and unsigneds are either hamming it up for the cameras, or panicking that they went with the wrong brand?

I'm in a rural area and had viasat for a year or so before I could get starlink. Viasat has horrible ping so doing video calls was basically impossible. Plus it wasn't unlimited data. Starlink is so much better and cheaper. But they are laying fiber down our road right now, so I'll be switching to that as soon as possible.

When did you have Viasat?

Teams calls are OK and it gives me an excuse to turn off my video (which I prefer for calls which could have easily been a conference call before Covid).

I need to upgrade my equipment to get Viasat’s unlimited plan which I will do before football season as I use more data watching football games during hunting season.

Try the Verizon fixed wireless home internet. I tested it out a couple of months ago when I upgraded my phone. Obviously living in urban Austin, I was getting 5G speeds consistently, but I used for a month and it was stable.

I ended up not keeping it only because my Spectrum service was the same price ($45) and usually around 500MB. But Spectrum just raised my price to $75 with no warning so I'm tempted to sign up again. First I'll see if I can get Spectrum to work a deal, because I like using my Verizon cell hotspot feature as a backup in case my home internet goes down.  If my home and cell internet are both Verizon, I have no backup.

Well, shit.  It's not available in my area for some reason.

do you know how difficult it is for someone to stand next to Donald Trump and make Donald Trump's menswear appear better-fitting in comparison?

Delaware might as well abolish the business judgment rule. Short-sighted doesn't even begin to describe it.

Meh.... I am torn because on the one hand, DE has an activist judge that is basically making it an impossibility for companies to have disinterested board members without having to prove it all the way up to the DE supreme court.  And other cases like the Moelis case that had to be fixed by statute are completely off the rails.  The recent proposed changes to 144 in Delaware are probably an overcorrection, but at least they provide some clarity.

On the other hand, fuck Elon.

Donald Trump did not put a single dollar of his own money towards that Tesla.

Just stating the obvious.

I'm just going to assume one of the federal agencies that Musk's children are inhabiting just authorized a PO for one (or possibly all) of the Tesla's that were brought out for the photo op.  Years from now, someone will probably find all these vehicles in a parking garage somewhere in DC, run the VIN and see that, indeed, the federal government bought some Teslas.

I was discussing this with my 7th grade son this morning.  Told him that most products don't have a political nature to them: people buy Coke if you are black, white, Texan, California, Republican, Democrat, whatever.  The boss is motivated to keep it that way.  Broadens your customer base.  Electric cars are one exception: a lot on the right think oil production is fundamental to America and don't want electric cars. So the buyers tend to be Democrat.  But the boss here says the most fascist stuff possible, alienating his only base.  It's wild.

If the next president is a Democrat, the pardons for Tesla vandals are gonna hit like crack.    Then the TV Choir singing America the Beautiful at the first State of the Union will break the internet.

You just roll with whatever Grandpa picked when he had enough money to buy his first tractor for the most part.

Speaking of shoes…

The douche on the left has lifts in his boots.

His leg geometry doesn’t make sense if he doesn’t.

This will all turn out well, because he’s obviously sane & rational.

Not a coincidence that a lot of these very public anti-trans assholes have themselves gone through noticeable physical transformations and like to play dress up.
