I’m getting 4.948 L and 4.998 L. I’ll accept 4.998 at 5.0 L but not 4.948.

You folks ever heard of significant digits?

Significant Digits is a great band name for a group made up entirely of bass players.

Sounds like the title to a They Might Be Giants song.

So, driverless taxis are approved, as long as they have a driver?

yes, a driver employed by the company, and all passengers must also be company employees

At the time (mid-90s) that the Ford vs. Chevy vs. Mopar guys were standing in the high school parking lot arguing, they (we) absolutely mixed our measurement units.  Marketing works well on teenage boys.

Ford had advertised their V8 as a “5.0” since they dropped it in the Fox Body. Chevy’s small-block for the Camaro and Corvette (and trucks) was always a “350.”  Mopar was beginning to call its 360 truck engine a “5.9” but there was lots of inertia and nostalgia for the 360 small block from the muscle era— and the Mopar crate motor.

Phrasing.

But to be fair, the 5.0 and 350 were fine.  I was just responding to the 350 being referred to as a 3.5 and a 360 being a 3.6 which makes them seem like they are smaller than the 302 (5.0).

Hmm. How many people were employed by the Federal Government in 2024? What's that? More than 3 million you say? Hmm.

Government workers are all parasites,  like those soldiers, doctors, scientists, and accountants.   But not people like gym jordan, gaetz, hammertoes, public handjob, etc.

Finance companies going to be pissed if you have loan and can't get insurance.  Doubt they want to mess with repo'ing uninsurable cars.

It’s the beginning of thousands of people driving uninsured teslas.

This is how you kill a company.  Which is how you kill the financing vehicles and business ventures that depend on that company.  Which is how you kill Elon as a billionaire.

Sorry, Tesla owners.  But it's literally a matter of national security.  Get out while you can, because they are headed towards insurability, which is going to be helpful if we're going to have any chance of salvaging what's left of the Republic.

So all the Teslas are going to get shipped to Africa and Haiti like NCAA loser shirts?

I mean, a purpose would be served.  Many years ago, my wife had a minivan, which she HATED.  But we drove it until we were done with it, lots of miles in it.  I finally sold it for like $5k, cash....to a dude who was promptly driving it down to Houston so it could roll onto a ship and some weeks later, be a nice new car for his sister in Lagos.  Power doors, working A/C....she got a pretty nice ride, everyone wins.  Especially my wife, who never had to drive a goddamned minivan again.

You aren't thinking this through. The answer will obviously be a public option for car insurance, backed by the US government. With preferred rates for made in America cars like Tesla's of course

What if my car was already vandalized? Would I be denied coverage for pre-existing conditions?

A conspiracy theory I choose to believe is that most Tesla firebombing is insurance fraud from dealers or owners who can’t sell or want to ditch their cars.

I'd actually nod in respect to such people.  That's some strategic thinking and getting out in front of things.

Yep.  And it’ll work against non-Tesla EVs.

Bullshit. Elon is behind it all.

Elon is literally building a private army to do his bidding.

Bunch of cowards… (secretly breathes sigh of relief as Inter-Con is our company’s biggest client…)

What? No. We might have killed USAID, but we aren’t real monsters.
