System only works below 40 mph with another vehicle in front.  Tesla could probably go through the motions to get their system certified at this level with these restrictions, but ...

Uh, that's the whole point, be careful in order to not to put the innocent public in danger, like Tesla does.

Tesla is not putting the public in any more danger than every other manufacturer that puts TACC and Lane-keeping in their vehicles.  We've had vehicles equipped with dumb cruise control on our roads for 65 years.

Mercedes assumes fault when their vehicle is an accident at L3. Tesla blames the owner for damages when washing the vehicle.

Well, that's the difference between a soyboy cuck outfit like Mercedes, and an EXTREME HARDCORE den of badassery that is Tesla.  DUH!

Tesla has ten times the market cap of Ford. Why are they making bush league mistakes on extremely limited runs of cars if they're supposed to be worth more than the next five largest automakers combined?

Recalls can make $$ for the dealer. While the accelerator issue may be legitimate, perhaps it's a way to keep some funds coming in to the folks that sell the trucks?

have no idea why investors see Tesla as being 10 times as valuable as Ford. Is that Tesla's fault?

If Musk counts as a representative for Tesla, then maybe?

And the lineup offered by geo and Saturn helped with that issue how?

It gave us a great jingle from that Kenny Loggins wannabe:

I don't even know who the CEO of Ford is. My news feed tried, unsuccessfully and annoyingly at first, to force me to know who Elon Musk was. That wasn't enough, so Elon Musk insisted and bought the world's largest social media site, because apparently I "didn't get" Elon or why he was the most interesting man the world in the first few hundred or so inescapable encounters.

Now he's a clown fire confirming most things I suspected but had little idea were so cartoonishly accurate.

Do other manufacturers give these feature names like “FULL SELF DRIVING” or “AUTOPILOT”?

TACC, Lane Keeping and even dumb cruise control all have clear limitations which are advertised and the owner understand the limits of. They aren’t being told the car can drive itself.

These aren’t beta features that need bugs worked out of and are being tested on live roads with people who haven’t given any consent to being in a beta test program.

So don’t tell me Tesla isn’t putting the public at risk at the same levels any every other automaker. They aren’t.

It's clear that was programed by a former Chicago cabbie to drive like Elon.

Passing every car waiting patiently in the lane designated for turning before attempting to cut in at the last second and instead ramming itself  into a pole like a fucking idiot indicates the driver had  engaged "Elon Mode"

The GEO line was a cross work with Japanese companies to make GM marginally engaged in that market, it failed.

The Saturn was an attempt at a "New Start" for GM post the 80s absolute debacle by GM and frankly every US automotive company. That the Buick Grand National is the penultimate vehicle of the US 80s with the GM 454 SS truck and arguably the Typhoon (both early 90s) being the only vehicles worth note in that entire era tells the story. Edit - Ford Escort RS should be added in here so should SVT Mustang.

Keep in mind VW was doing the GT, Nissan was doing the Z, Honda had the NSX and Civic S, Toyota was doing the Supra and MR2 during the same period. All of those are iconic in car world lore.

The US had a bad ass 3.6 liter turbo charged 2 door sedan and SUV and a rear wheel drive truck.

My cousin has a GNX well appointed and properly modified for optimal performance enhancement without devaluation of the vehicle regarding rarity.

I love him, but hate him too.

Instead of working their usual 110%, they'll ramp up to 120% to make up for the 10% headcount loss.  Problem.  Solved.

Even at 120%, 90% of the original workforce doesn't keep up with the original workforce at 110% hardcore levels.  The über hardcore 90% fall 2% short.

So I can't tell if this was a response to my car nerd rambling or and extremely apt and astute catch of my typo. It was a 3.8 liter turbo.. not 3.6. Because I'm nerding out again why not add fuel to the fire.

My first car was the 79 Sports Coupe with the wet turbo. Had 84 T-type and 85 GN and 2 87 GNs.

I still miss them.

Apparently, Austin won't let Tesla pollute the Colorado River as much as it wants to.

But Elon is trying to save humanity. What's a little pollution in the Colorado River compared to saving humanity?

Same as it’s ever been. Some guy gets on his soapbox and speaks loudly and sounds like an authority and yokels listen to him. The only difference now is that the soapbox is Twitter or a podcast or whenever. And mix in some tough guy, toxic masculinity and all of these incels are ready to eat it up. Elon is just one of these guys, Andrew Tate, Joe Rogan, Tucker Carlson. Just spewing garbage telling these losers it’s not your their fault they are losers, but society for deeming them losers through some really convoluted logic. And when called on it they are just “asking questions”.
