Jeeze, one of them survived the crash and then drowned. I wonder if NTSB is gonna look into that, as people seem to increasingly get trapped in their muskmobile

That's why they cost so much. They double as a coffin.

texdude2006?  He was an avid red wings fan maybe? Maybe…

Oh that crash. I was thinking of a different poster that crashed, and maybe his daughter died along with him.

And yes, Kenny, texdude2006, had a red wings avatar.

Was out drinking with his girlfriend, went for a ride with someone who ended up driving his porsche panamera into a ditch and killed all three of them.  My theory was the driver wanted to kill himself and figured if he killed the other two their families would sue leaving his wife with nothing.

We kept getting linkedin updates to congratulate him on work anniversaries, which is how I found out linkedin has a whole department to deal with users dying.

A federal agency is investigating the death of a person last week at the Tesla Gigafactory.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration confirmed the agency is investigating an incident where a worker died.

The Travis County Sheriff’s Office and Austin-Travis County EMS responded to the Tesla factory around 8:30 a.m. Aug. 1. The call type was changed to deceased person, the sheriff’s office confirmed.

8.5 second 1/4 mile time is absolutely insane. Race shops spend YEARS and tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars modifying cars like Supras, Lambos, Vipers, whatever, just to touch 8s… knowing what we now know about Tesla build quality, how comfortable are we with these rockets on the road?

My guess is that car is equipped with a roll cage and probably has the seats and everything possible removed from the vehicle.

From that thread:

They fired him from paypal early on. He wanted to call it Xcard.

….

I think a lot of responders are missing the Betamax CEO point. Yes, Betamax was the superior format, but it died in the consumer space because Sony's CEO refused to license it to other manufacturers. Consumers could walk into a store and have a dozen VHS decks to choose from, with a variety of features and price points...plus 1 or 2 Betamax decks that Sony kept at a premium price point. Sony killed their own product, hence the Musk comparison.

….

That’s not fair. Betamax was still used in professional broadcast settings for decades, it just didn’t work for consumers. Elon does not have that kinda utility.

…..

TBF eBay ruined PayPal. Elon tried to ruin PayPal, but they dumped him before that. It would've been called X and written in noob C++ spaghetti code, it would've been gloriously insecure and slow to evolve. The world was spared that. Unfortunately Twitter got the full treatment.

.

A more apt metaphor would be that he’s the dog licking the pizza at the party. The dog is happy, but now nobody wants the pizza except the weirdos who were already amused by letting him lick bean dip off of their faces.

So this fuck stick is starting his own charter school and grouping kids by age?

Uhhhh ...

https://www.mysanantonio.com/news/austin/article/elon-musk-school-19620455.php

It's official. Elon Musk is opening a school in Central Texas this year, and it may be open as early as this fall.

Ad Astra, Latin for "to the stars," will be a Montessori-style school on a 40-acre property in Bastrop. The school is the latest endeavor for the Texas-based billionaire, continuing to grow his empire in the small town outside of Austin. Montessori-style education is a form of self-directed, hands-on learning and collaborative plate.

"Ad Astra’s mission is to foster curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking in the next generation of problem solvers and builders," its website reads.

Open to children ages 3 to 9, the school will focus on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) curriculum. Only 50 students will be enrolled in the school, 18 between the ages of 3 to 6 and 30 lower-elementary students between 6 and 9, according to Fortune.

Does anyone want to explain to this knob that Europe is in fact a continent, made up of many countries, and therefore it can't possible be a civil war? It would just be "war." Of it would be civil war in individual places, like the UK or France. Fucking moron.

Elon Musk has revived his complaint against OpenAI after dropping a previous lawsuit, again alleging that the ChatGPT maker and two of its founders — Sam Altman and Greg Brockman — breached the company’s founding mission to develop artificial intelligence technology to benefit humanity.

The new lawsuit filed in federal court in Northern California on Monday says that Altman and Brockman “assiduously manipulated Musk into co-founding their spurious non-profit venture” by promising that OpenAI would be safer and more transparent than profit-driven alternatives. The suit claims that assurances about OpenAI’s nonprofit structure were “the hook for Altman’s long con.”

Musk made similar accusations in a “hilariously bad” lawsuit that he withdrew in June without explanation, which focused on claims that OpenAI breached its founding agreement between Musk and other cofounders to keep the company’s technology open source.

“This is a much more forceful lawsuit,” Musk’s lawyer, Marc Toberoff, said to The New York Times. The new suit argues that OpenAI broke federal racketeering laws in a conspiracy to defraud Musk and that its contract with Microsoft would revoke the tech giant’s rights to OpenAI’s technology once artificial general intelligence (AGI) had been achieved.

It bears repeating over and over and over again, the fervor and """concern""" over Jade Helm was stoked largely by russian trolls online

Hey.....Elon....just because everyone thinks you suck, and nobody wants to pay to come to your house and play doesn't mean there's any great conspiracy/collusion.  It means that....you suck.  And everyone sees it and knows it, and nobody with a lick of sense wants anything to do with you.

See, e.g., the numerous pages up, RIGHT NOW, posting classic anti-jew bullshit.  Or see you turning X into a MAGA support platform.  Or see any number of other reasons why decent, sane people don't want to hang out with you.

It's an easy case.  Defense counsel stands up, and says "the plaintiff accuses my clients of not wanting to associate with him.  Well, look at that piece of shit -- of course we don't want to associate with him."
