Helps that Musk's brother has apparently admitted multiple times in public that they were here illegally.

I just contacted my member of Congress to have all of Elon’s government contracts looked at.

Seems like, given that Elon came here illegally, his citizenship could be revoked, especially since he was CONTACTING VLADIMIR PUTIN, which is against the law.

Fuck Elmo.

Or his clearance revoked if he lied on the application. And why did you get a neg on that post? For doing what a citizen with an issue with something is supposed to do?

Agreed.  No idea. Presume that @Snake Diggity is an Elmo stan.

I also plan on sending communication to my Senators as well.

Someone with more experience in that world please clarify but my understanding is that's a disqualifying event and should bring up some kind of investigation.

That's my understanding from like two seconds of talking to friends who have differing levels of clearence and have gone though that process.

That's without touching on the contact with foreign nationals assuming he didn't report them - no matter who the person is.

Again my friends are in a different area than this one BUT they both seem to believe that those two issues are MAJOR deals.

They are. And I don't think his knowledge of information is staffing rosters on classified programs, which are classified in themselves. I bet he might have heard other, maybe more important things as well.

Yes but I see this more as Biden demonstrating how even illegal aliens can ultimately offer important contributions to America. And that bar isn't whether they eventually become the world's wealthiest person.

Musk is not exactly "your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore". Those would be the people he was rallying about rounding up yesterday. I just couldn't imagine elmo being used as a positive example

I don't follow this like most of you, but I read that Tesla stock went up 22% last week?  wtf

Earnings call was "good". I put that in quotes partly becuase a lot of his numbers are "fudged". Yes, their real numbers were up. But the biggest boost to their numbers was actually selling carbon credits, which really boosted the numbers big time.

In the end, it was a good quarter. Will it continue? Who knows. but they did ok.

6th Street posters listened to Musk and made very serious faces while they took his very serious promises and projections very seriously.

Finance and business valuation and whatever the fuck else is not my wheelhouse, so perhaps this is patently foolish for multiple reasons, and I readily acknowledge the unlikelihood of a scam to this scale, etc.

But at some point, is there a possibility that the only explanation for a stock price bound by neither reality nor gravity is that there's money laundering (and/or some other illicit source of money at a significant scale) somewhere in the equation?

Tesla is hardly the only company currently living in LALA land as far as that goes.  The entire market seems propped up.

Was having this conversation with a business partner this morning. Everything seems completely out of whack and propped up by the fear of losing any money.

IPOs are not happening but companies who aren’t doing anything to add additional value or change their products or big announcements or news are moving billions in market cap. Nvidia the other day was enough to IPO 200 unicorns. That’s a lot of innovation that isn’t happening and being distorted by some of these crazy mega caps.

Innovation is for suckers. Just fake it until you get the valuation and then cash out.

This is my hell the last 5 or so years. Brought in to lead innovation got far enough to dog and pony show and then subsequently shelved. Rinse and repeat.

Innovation is seen as the enemy of profit instead of the catalyst of growth now.

Wage suppression isn't because of illegal immigration but this isnt a completely unhinged take.

Once we deport every body and massively reduce public spending in an unspecified way the economy will collapse, but don't worry! Just stay the course and everything will work out.

Yeah, ok. I have heard that before.

Besides look how people freaked out over a little inflation, you think we would stay the course if we adopted policies that led to short term economic collapse?

He probably has a conditional security clearance. A few years ago he caused SpaceX employees and himself to be subjected to random drug tests after smoking pot on Rogan's podcast. The average clearance holder would have had their clearance revoked but adjustments were made by the government for Musk, likely under a conditional clearance.

He controls SpaceX so he will probably never face consequences regarding his clearance. The government will probably just make a new redline for him not to cross until he crosses it and then they will redraw the line.

It's bullshit. I know a few people that have run into issues with their clearance because of the dumbest shit like hospital bills.

It's an unhinged take. A vague description of massive austerity with a hand wave at the unintended consequences is unhinged. The guy is clearly an idiot but it's Elon's boost that makes it unhinged.

I abhor grammar police and literalists on this forum, but can something be partially unhinged. It’s hinged or not, right?

Feel free to neg rep me for my sucking energy from this thread.

Kinda interesting tech video a work peer sent to me showing the supercomputing cluster that xAI is building

lotta flops to build a pretty middling LLM, but the datacenter architecture is neat to see as a techie

Exactly. However these people are sociopaths.

If you are ever bored and want to go down a rabbit hole look up effective altruism and effective accelerationism. It will explain the thought process behind Musk and other Tech billionaires.

It's some crazy ass shit.

If i just get to lubricate and set off some charges along the san andreas fault line, it will reduced the overall stress field along the plate boundaries. Lower stress is good right?

It would be different if I happened to know a lot of people who were aching to do roofing jobs in Texas in August, or were looking to spend their days walking farm fields, but even with my East Texas relatives, I don’t. I can’t imagine how much prices would rise, and I really can’t imagine what would happen to the Texas economy.  Well, I can imagine that a lot of businesses would go under, and there’s a chance that many would not come back.

As somebody who has a major illness and surgery in the past year and had to get way too intimate with medical imagery, and who has watched Grok, Tesla, etc. the past few years, there’s no fucking way in hell I would ever trust his software for something like that.

Because I could see feeding it some images and having it come back recommending some treatment called “Aktion T4”.
