Cuban is such a cuck. Does he really believe there will be be antitrust enforcement in the next four years?

Against companies that don’t have the best of relations with Trump?

All of these companies want more visas. All of them want no regulation or to help write the regulations, government contracts, etc

Pichar is an emigrant running a company that some, including Trump, claim stifle their side’s voices, Zuck is accused of his platform favoring one side, Cook is a gay man running a massive company, Musk’s empire would collapse without government contracts, and Tesla needs the tax breaks and carbon credits. Bezos can’t have tariffs all over the place

All of them have their hands in the AI pie, and AI regulation in the next four years will drastically affect all of them.

Musk hates these people and they hate him but he got himself into position to try and protect his wealth and companies.

I’m not trying to get CR here but I don’t understand all the bitching Mark Cuban does about Trump when he is business partners with the Adelsons who are one of Trump’s biggest donors.

Yep. He’s a massive hypocrite.

It's tough to have ethics when you're a billionaire. They're pretty diametrically opposed

Any security detail is vulnerable. And we know no woman is going near that bed room.

He’s far more paranoid than most, hence him bragging about a shitty knife stuck in his bedroom wall.  People who are secure in themselves and their situation in life don’t need to brag about having weapons at hand and being able to use them.

It’s the adult version of when we were kids and you would tell somebody “my dad can make your mom or dad disappear and get their body across state lines in the trunk of a 79 Ford Ltd, and sunk to the bottom of a 100 foot deep water-filled coal pit in Oklahoma or Arkansas.”  Okay, that’s a bad example, because you would never provide that many details that could lead police to your dad, and would instead let them spend the rest of their lives wondering what happened to one or both of their parents, and if it was their fault and what they could have done different and maybe they should have treated that scrawny kid a little better, but I digress.  You would just say “my dad can whip your dad’s ass” and hope that was enough to get people to leave you alone.

Except Leon can’t bring his dad into the conversation, so he has to pick what he thinks is a great tool for knife-fighting based on a meme he saw online about bayonets, and act like he’s ready at a moment’s notice. He doesn’t sleep much based on his tweeting habits, so I’m going to guess that when he does sleep, he sleeps hard and it’s hard to wake him up, so he probably had a security detail outside and inside his house.

It’s kind of telling that he thinks he’ll end up in a knife fight in his bedroom though, instead of somebody robbing the place while he’s in D.C. or Florida.  There’s got to be some projection there - why think somebody will try and kill him in his bedroom and that he wants people to think he has a fucking hundred year old knife next to his bed?  That’s some projection.

By "concrete barrier" do we mean that sloped 4" high looking strip? You put a moving train behind my ass, pretty sure we're getting over that quite quickly.

I really have been struggling to understand the appeal not just of Cybertrucks but really “FSD” and other Tesla doo-dads aside from just being fast and electric.  Then it hit me: the target audience is people who used to shop at Sharper Image or stuff from Hammacher Schlemmer in the in-flight catalog.

This is a big problem I see with FSD, Tesla or otherwise - this inability to detect, interpret correctly, and handle roadway features like this one or subtler ones at construction zones with traffic patterns changing by the day etc. Afaik the other guys doing it are in another universe of better performance than Tesla's FSD, and even with them it would worry me. Tesla being allowed to run this shit is fucking nuts, esp with all their heavy-ass vehicles. The construction of the new freeway through and around the Y in Oak Hill is a perfect example, with new white & yellow lines frequently being painted while the old ones are still visible because they didn't grind 'em off well enough. It's a mess.

I see this at least 4-5 times a week because it is near a spot I enjoy reading at. If you told me this thing would set your house on fire, murder your family and then have Elmo say “All the telemetry came back okay” I wouldn’t bat an eyelash. Stuff like this makes millions of people in America think he has a high level of intelligence when in actuality his IQ is on par with the temperature of a frozen pond.

1) These guys love to sound super concerned about the sexual abuse of children.
2) Yet they are dead-quiet when it comes to sexual abuse by churches/christian leaders.
I mean, it’s ALMOST enough to make you think that it’s not about protecting children at all…and instead it’s about nationalist/sectarian division using a trumped-up issue.

All the time I’m hearing about how fucking smart “tech founders” are and how we need more disruption and to listen to their TedTalks and then they get into cars designed by Elon Musk and just let themselves get steered onto railroad tracks.

That’s a very fair fucking point. An incoming MEMBER OF THE FUCKING PRESIDENTIAL administration just called for deposing the government of our closest ally.
Call in the ambassador. Absent a formal apology from the offending official, decline to have any representative at the inauguration. Fuck this country. If we insist on acting like a child, the world should treat us like one.

I don't think he's technically a member of the incoming administration.

But whatever.

He's the incoming head of a brand new government agency that's a pet project of the incoming administration. Technically or not, he's trading on Trump's political name and capital

It's not a government agency unless/until Congress makes it one and provides funding.  And I don't think anyone has proposed legislation to make it an agency.  As it is envisioned right now, it is going to be a presidential commission, which is not exactly part of the federal government.

But honestly--who gives a fuck.

Correct, although he can and does wield the power of twitter against any politicians who oppose him.  That can be a very tangible thing.

Frankly I think that's the way most government agencies are going to go. Congressional oversight is waning in general, and power is being consolidated into the executive.

Plus, it's a rhetorical calling card of trump (and authoritarians in general) to do things that break the norm, and stun their opposition into indecisiveness and inaction. Blitzkrieg and all that.

He can’t cut any budgets or funding through.  Only Congress can wield the power of the purse.  But again, he has twitter.

Well, he's absolutely planning to snatch the power of the purse from Congress. And history tells us that we generally should listen to them and heed the warning when they plainly say what they want to do.

I can plan to hook up with Sela Ward, but unless restraining orders are dropped and she has a change of heart, it’s not happening.

He can’t change the Constitution, and Congress is not going to strip itself of the biggest and best way of enriching themselves (by enriching their donors) and for all of the complaining about pork, they are still going to send it back home.

I’m surprised Leon is still around Trump, but he did give a bunch to Trump, but on the flip side, he also can’t help himself.  When he tries to pressure Congress with Twitter to kill off some sacred cows that are in his sights, they will tell him to go pound sand. He still does not understand how things work outside of his world, and why we send so much federal money to so many projects and organizations and local and state governments. All these things he wants to cut, Trump and the Rs didn’t cut between 2017-2021 for a reason.

And his trying to interfere in other countries’ elections and politics are not going unnoticed.

To be strictly accurate, the Trump administration commenced antitrust litigation against the "big three."  Trump is too stupid to understand antitrust, but he wants to hurt big tech and the antitrust laws are what they are, so at least that aspect of the Antitrust Division will seem to carry on as usual.

Dude is a real life Bond villain. This should be in Britain’s wheel house

And Hugo Drax no less.  The worst bad guy from the worst Bond movie yet.

His decent has been notable.  Started out as Tony Stark.  Cool tech, hot babes.  Then he became Justin Hammer; a tech poseur.

He bought Twitter and became Elliot Carver (“Tomorrow Never Dies.”)

Now he’s just a weirdo fascinated with space and making lotsa babies.  Sad.

And scary.  What’s he gonna become next?
