Best/Favorite Movie Each Year of the Past Decade

This was a prompt on film twitter on Monday, although it turned into best of the last 12 years because these idiots can't count

Anyway, here's my 2022-2013 in bold, with runners up in order. I've yet to have seen most of the bigger movies of 2023 so far, so I'll leave that choice off for now.

2023: When Evil Lurks, The Holdovers John Wick 4, The Killer, Infinity Pool

2022: Top Gun: Maverick, Everything Everywhere All At Once, Terrifier 2, Banshees, Deadstream

2021: Mad God, Old Henry, Dune, The Green Knight

2020: Possessor, Palm Springs, The Empty Man, Anything for Jackson

2019: Parasite, Portrait of a Lady on Fire, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Doctor Sleep, JoJo Rabbit

2018: Hereditary, Burning, Under the Silver Lake, Climax, The Favourite

2017: Atomic Blonde, Get Out, You Were Never Really Here, Revenge, Tigers are not Afraid

2016: The Handmaiden, Neon Demon, A Dark Song

2015: Ex Machina, Sicario, The Witch, Fury Road, The Blackcoat's Daughter. Probably four of my favorite five or six movies of this timeframe.

2014: Whiplash, Phoenix, Leviathan, Grand Budapest Hotel, Gone Girl, Guardians of the Galaxy, Edge of Tomorrow

2013: The Great Beauty, Her, Stoker, New World, V/H/S, Borgman, Blue Ruin, Holy Motors, Prisoners

Mostly horror, sci-fi, and South Korean. Sounds about right

What do you got?

These were my favorites (at least as much as I can recall), not necessarily the "best" as works of art.

2023 -- Oppenheimer

2022 -- Emily the Criminal [Banshees is a close second.  2022 generally sucked in terms of movies, IMO.]

2021 -- Belfast [2021 was pretty bad as well]

2020 -- Nomadland

2019 -- OUATIH/Ford v. Ferrari

2018 -- The Favourite

2017 -- The Post

2016 -- Hell or High Water  [really enjoyed La La Land as well]

2015 -- Sicario

2014 --  Whiplash/The Homesman

2013 -- American Hustle

Would agree with several of these.

But I'm surprised how few times Edge of Tomorrow was listed for 2014.

Interstellar was great, but for pure entertainment, comedy, thrills etc. it's Edge of Tomorrow for me hands down. I can re-watch it about every 4 months and each time I'm enthralled with the story, acting, editing, pace and overall work.
