I don't know. I think it handled it all pretty well.

Great performance by Stephen Graham who I kept wondering where I had seen him before. He was Tommy in Snatch.

Yeah, I just binged watched all of Adolescence. Brutal but excellent. And honestly, a nice little kick in the ass as a father of a young son growing up in this technology hellscape.

Adolescence was excellent, definitely a sad watch. The premise was iffy, no kid is going to stab a girl because he watches Andrew Tate and the weak points of the show are when it tried to shove that criticism in. In fairness the show doesn’t say that was the actual reason for the crime, he was just a kid with anger issues that was upset he got disrespected. The whole manosphere/incel/red pill online stuff had nothing to do with it and it was weird the show focused on that at times. In episode 3 he even says he saw some videos but didn’t like them.

I have essentially stopped reading these "recommendations" threads because of posts like the one above. If you really feel the need to talk about what happens in the show, it's not that hard to put it on spoiler tags.

"I recommend 'Whatever' on Netflix/Prime/Apple. It's really good, and the best part is the very end with the shocking twist that the mom did it all along. Anyway, great show and y'all should watch it."

It was a complete gut punch. But the kid really came off as a little psycho. I'm not sure he wouldn't have turned out violent either way. He really got off on trying to intimidate that therapist and control that situation and had uncontrollable anger when he couldn't.

Enjoyed the first two episodes of The Residence.  Limited series whodonit with a pretty good cast.  Uzo Aduba plays the part well and has some really funny lines.

There is no plot twist or surprises in the show. It’s upfront all the way from the onset.

I genuinely thought the rest of the post was going to criticize the half baked Helobious 'analysis' which would have been equally valid criticism.

Anyone else watching Weak Hero Class 1 ? (Korean w/English subtitles for us). The bully(ies) picking on the weak trope, but for a quasi 'teen' show, not a bad watch thus far for some of the fight scenes, although:

wow. the redneck family are just living breathing emblems of dunning-kruger. i found them fascinating.
edited to add: the way that they “interacted” with “mr.fenn”, eg speaking directly to him when filming themselves, and feeling like “mr.fenn” cared about them and wanted good for them, was just so eerily similar to so many maga people and donald trump. this personal relationship that they’ve created in their heads and hearts- it’s just wild.
Damn those dudes were some regards lmao

Dammit, I have to agree a bit here.

But, I had seen some "reviews" that mentioned Parliament was going to have some special sessions or some such about adolescent social media use.  Therefore, I was expecting more focus or reveal on that aspect of it, while it actually remained pretty implicit, and the "cause" of the crime remained unclear, probably purposely.

That I kept waiting for it and it never came distracted me from the more general excellence of the show.
